So much history here which made it a bucket list item to see for me. Loved the easy access and friendliness of anyone who came in contact. We went on a Tuesday afternoon and stepped right out onto the floor. A member of the athletic department noticed how in awe I was an told me where the basketballs were so I even got to go into the locker room and grab a ball and shoot on the floor! Amazing experience and made my entire vacation to Philly. It will mean so much more now when I see a game on tv knowing I've been there.

What a great example of an old school venue. Small with small corridors but that makes it feel real. Lots of city and UPenn history on display. Big 5 games are the best here.

The Greatest place to watch a basketball game! I have been here now for both a H.S. & a College game. Not a bad seat in the house! If you are a fan of College Basketball or the Big 5, you must go at least once! I am sure glad I did, and can not wait to go again. Beautifully tucked away on U of Penn's Campus!

Great atmosphere, St Joe's vs Penn is always huge game. It's awesome when the sun shines through The Palestra. It's unique building. Great location too, downtown Philly right across the bridge. Baby Blues BBQ excellent food there. It looks great on TV when all the fans are close together. There is no better place to play Big 5 game. Only negative is that concourses are tight, it's impossible to use bathroom at halftime in sold out game.

Food is overpriced even for Ivy Leaguers...not to mention it tastes like Quaker oats mixed with cardboard. I give the Palestra two stars overall, because the only consistently great thing coming out of here are the Drexel Dragons.

Old school, literally

Walking the concourse was definitely the highlight of my visit. The place breathes history and you can read up on most of that history on the walls of the concourse. If only the Cornell at Penn basketball game was half as entertaining as walking the halls. 90 year old basketball arenas just don't exist. It's age shows so concessions are limited, bathrooms are small and the concourses look like they could easily become over crowded, not the case for the measly crowd on hand for our event. Must visit for anyone into history, basketball or architecture.

The venue has a capacity to accommodate 19,600 concert goers, similar to MSG which holds 20,000. Pros - acoustics were fantastic. - seats were comfortable with cup holders. - security was quick, they did't even check my bag. Just told me to walk on through. - lots of food choices if you want a quick bite. - restrooms were clean, plenty of stalls for the ladies. - parking and exiting our vehicle was easy. Cons - I got excellent seats close to the floor but I sat sort of sideways if you get my drift. Had to turn my body all the way to my left to see the stage. I would probably get seat(s) in a different section next time. - Parking was expensive $44 including fee. I would have enjoyed the show more if the girl sitting next to me didn't scream and sang along to every one of Lovato's songs right in my ear. Still, I had a blast!! I would totally attend another concert here.

Overpriced everything. $38 for two miller lites- prices have skyrocketed This obviously varies pending the event but it was nice to have no line for the ladies restroom. The restroom was very clean and well maintained. Overall the area was very clean. They partnered with SpotHero which is convenient. You can buy parking ahead of time using the app, and you get really close parking until the arena for $40.

What stood out the most was how nice everyone was. I've had not so great experiences at sports games in Florida, so I was ready for a completely different vibe. But people here were so kind. Like genuinely kind. They helped us find lockers, pointed us to the elevator, and made sure we got to our seats without any confusion. Huge shoutout to Beverly H and Glynn M because they really made the night. My friend's phone was dying and Glynn helped her out with a charger right away. Beverly was also trying to find one for her too. And for me, I had no idea what was going on half the time with the game, and Beverly took the time to explain it in a way that actually made sense. I didn't feel lost at all. It really felt like that whole "city of brotherly love" thing is real. Even though the Phillies lost, it didn't even matter. We still had such a good time. My friend hadn't been to a game since the Veterans Stadium days and she had so much fun she's already talking about getting season tickets... once they start winning again lol Overall just a really fun night with great energy and even better people. I'd absolutely go back.

I have fun but it's not the best place to see anything you actually wanna hear…read more I'm pretty sure I've been here throughout the years. I think my first concert was here but we got so high on the way down I only remember two songs from the opener and none of the trip. This most recent visit was Friday. They wouldn't let my wife bring in her purse. However they let someone bring in a larger one right before her. So she drew attention to this. They didn't care. She had to go buy a $10 clear bag. This really wouldn't have been an issue if it wasn't so inconsistent. Also like I know you can charge whatever you want for food and drink cuz it's your venue and all but should you?! Anyway lawn tickets aren't really worth it. It's like hey you sit outside and watch other people attend a concert.

The sound was good, cool A/V with the projector screens and lights, and it was easy to move about during the concert. We had driven down and parked at BB&T. The peace of mind was worth the money out of pocket. At the time, we didn't often go to this area/part of Jersey, so we decided to park there. We purchased specific seats for this show. I thought the chairs were comfortable. Also, the concession booths had lots of options, and I remember the prices being reasonable.

For some reason I had assumed that a storied program like Villanova, with three national championships, would have a much larger home court. But, once that surprise wore off, I was really impressed with the basketball environment. Our 3rd row seats gave us access to a supposedly exclusive club at halftime, so I was expecting some quality eats--unfortunately, the chicken po boy that came highly recommended was probably the worst arena food I've ever had. Nonetheless, I didn't go for food, I went for the game, and the high energy collegiate basketball atmosphere of this place would surely be tough to beat anywhere. If you have a chance to see a game here, make sure to take it!

There are two types of Dans in this world-- those who rise above and those who squander, and it's unfortunate to hear that Villanova let this kind of beta-Dan into such a fine establishment. As I first walked into the Pav, I immediately felt the love and warmth that has traditionally bonded the Villanova community together for centuries. The Pavilion, which needed a big upgrade, looked like a totally different animal once inside. At 6 5" and 240 lbs I found that I had ample legroom. Once comfortably seated in our section, my beautiful wife, 3 beautiful children and myself were lucky enough to catch a thrilling contest between Nova and Temple. Wow. What a showdown. My 3 little ones were on the edge of their seats, and my wife and I formed yet another glorious memory together. All-in-all, we stayed the whole game because, as true Wildcats, we finish what we start. PS - I am in full support of the serving of alcohol for those of age. College is a wonderful learning experience, and there is no better place to learn responsible drinking habits than under the direct supervision of the greatest University in The United States of America. Go Cats baby.

Of course, then I remember that I stunk at roller skating and spent most of my time holding onto the wall or picking myself up after falling on my butt again. Unfortunately, not as many kids want to fall on their butt for hours at a time while skating in a circle so Skater's Choice - as it used to be known - had to evolve. It is now called Choice Inline Arena. The space that used to be the roller rink now houses a basketball/futsal court on one end and the home of Jersey Pride Cheer and Tumble on the other end. Sharing the entrance is what is called Court 3 - which is a full-sized roller hockey rink complete with locker rooms and everything. In the last few years, I have only visited this facility to watch my kids play futsal. It is the home of South Jersey Futsal - which is run by Don D'Ambra. Don D'Ambra is a Philly guy who played soccer at St. Joes and later was the player/coach for the Philadelphia Kixx. He is currently head coach at St. Joes. For those that don't know - futsal is a type of soccer that is played 5v5 with a smaller ball that is 30% heavier than a regular soccer ball to limit bouncing. It is a fast paced and fun winter game that is played on a court the size of a basketball court. The facility is fine for futsal - although the amenities are a little lacking. The roof ocassionally leaks when there is a lot of ice, rain, or condensation. There is limited seating courtside that is only accessible through a very narrow walkway that may or may not be handicapped accessible. The snack bar is limited and the bathrooms serve double duty as the locker rooms for the roller hockey rink and are as smelly as you might imagine. The parking is very limited and you may need to park in the lot next door. It is great to have facilities like this available for our kids to pursue the sports they love. Come here with the appropriate expectations and you will be OK - but I guarantee your kids will be tired and happy and that is the more important thing.
