This is my second attempt to try this brunch spot. The last time didn't go so well so I am giving them a second chance at the encouragement of a friend. The food truck turned restaurant in what appears to be a market pavilion specializes in breakfast burritos. Today I wanted to try the breakfast burrito and their Texas Quesadilla. The first thing I saw that came out was the quesadilla. It looked amazing. Unfortunately the taste didn't live up to its appearance. It honestly was bland. I kept trying to add something to make the bites taste better. The texture was grainy and there was a spice I didn't expect that was dominating the dish. I think it was cinnamon. It gave a weird aftertaste. As for the burrito, it was mostly chorizo sausage with just a little egg. I think it would have tasted better if it had been mostly egg with a little sausage. This heavy on the chorizo mix made the burrito very dry and and the texture crumbly inside. You need the nice texture of an egg or avocado to help with the texture of the burrito. Once again, I found myself trying to add something to it to make it taste better. Maybe some guacamole or cheese? Something needs to help balance this burrito so it feels better on the tongue. Overall this isn't my favorite. It has potential but it doesn't deliver or hit the spot as it is now. I couldn't see myself coming back here. The other reviews make me feel like they may be posts from friends because "Amazing" is not what comes to my mind. The fact they have fewer than 20 reviews on Yelp after being open since 2020, should tell you what you need to know. read more

This is my favorite spot in Springfield! Tacos are always fresh and supremely tasty. Great ingredients cooked up by skilled chefs make for one heck of a meal. You simply can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Also the salsa is so fresh and so good you'll want to get a pint to take home (classic red or verde too)! Don't sleep on the breakfast here either! The burrito will keep you energized all day with potatoes and chorizo. The location is great because it is easy to meet up with friends and the food court atmosphere encourages community. Finally the service is outstanding! So this is place is a food truck without the wheels and the food is so amazing. The savory corn cakes are melt I. Your mouth delicious. Add Pork for a great topper. The Texas Chicken Quesadilla is crisp, fresh and full of Tex Mex flavor. We order those two thing every time for the two of us and it is more than enough. Located in the Co-Hatch building in the food court area. The tables and seating are in a shared space, and there's plenty of spaces to sit down and enjoy your food and drinks, while maintaining social distance if you need to. We originally showed up there to get waffles at Iron Works, but they'd just closed. So we weighed our options, and decided to try The Painted Pepper. We both ordered the shredded beef tacos with chimichurri, because they sounded delicious. We really enjoyed the tacos. They did not scrimp on the beef. I was also happy that the beef wasn't chile braised or greasy. The radishes and cucumber were a nice touch. Loved the cholula packets! Would definitely eat here again if we find ourselves in Springfield again. read more

Absolutely phenomenal. Delicious. Amazing. I mean seriously this place is TOP NOTCH. I got the breakfast burrito, and it did not disappoint. Everything was cooked to perfection and the tortilla was heated just enough to have that nice crisp without being too much. It's been quite some time since we've been here but one we used to stop whenever we saw this truck or saw they would be somewhere near. The food was always fresh and I absolutely love tamales. I prefer chicken tamales but they are so very hard to find. One day I was having a conversation with the woman working and told her my obsession with finding tamales and she actually gave me their phone number. She told me to give her a couple of days notice but she'd be certain to have the person who makes them make me as many as I wanted to purchase. I know we stopped after that but COVID hit us all and I lost track of the woman's name and number. All I can say is this was hands down the best Mexican type cuisine we've had, including most restaurants we've been to! I'm glad to see venues are returning and I'll keep my eyes open for this food truck! read more

What a hidden gem!! When we travel we love to find small,non-franchise type places to eat and this fit the bill. It's in a really cool co-working space called Co-Hatch. Think office meets food court. Pros: staff was really helpful, food was amazing, good portions and prices where very good as well. Cons: none This is a great place to go!! read more

I decided to give this place a shot since it was across the street from the hotel I was staying at. Not a whole lot of choices in the area. I was pleasantly surprised! I order the shredded beef tacos with a vegan bowl (can't remember exactly... I'm writing my reviews a few days later!) accompanied with a drink called "Cactus water". The food is consistently amazing! They're quick, but always have the order hot and cooked perfectly. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly.
