The teacher, Alexander, was so kind and very thorough in his teaching, which made it easy for me to follow along :) Any questions I had or anytime I needed suggestions, he was immediately there to help. I also appreciated his efforts in letting everyone express themselves and not having to follow the class exactly, but more about having fun! I thought everyone working was kind (big thanks to the owner as well!!) and I am definitely coming back to paint more! This location is really spacious with different rooms for different experiences, with lots of great drink options (including THC/CBD options for non-drinkers like me who still like to have some fun). I thought the price was really fair considering you get to take a beautiful painting home after being taught in a prompt two hours (wish it could've been longer since I had so much fun). Nathalie and Urii gave a us brief history of glass mosaics and were so helpful while we created our pieces. They are experts with over 25 years of education, teaching, and passing it on to everyone. They really enjoy what they do as they are patient, provide encouragement and help you even if you're not art inclined! They had a vast array of glass tiles in every color under the rainbow imaginable! It was so much fun and gave us all a whole new appreciation of mosaic artisanry! During its open days, the art, people, and overall atmosphere were truly impeccable. Many remarkable artists and memorable events were hosted there, leaving a lasting impression. After several lead staff members departed, however, the gallery began to decline. The owner who also operates the Oak Brook Surgical Center as a practicing surgeon ultimately shifted the model and now offers viewings by appointment only. It's a real loss for the community, given the creativity, quality, and vibrancy that once defined the space! Always enjoyed visiting when in Oak Brook!

She's a master upcycler and finds the most amazing inspirations in even the everyday (see my uploaded pictures of art from shampoo and conditioner bottles.) What a wonderful afternoon at DIT!!…read more During COVID, call/email ahead for a private appointment and send in images before you arrive. We had two adults and three kids (8, 9 and 12). Adrian had everything setup and even let the kids pick what music to listen to on Alexa (Hamilton!) The studio is cozy and well-stocked with supplies. Adrian is super talented and also a patient, fun, accommodating, creative and encouraging guide to crafting. He walked us through the almost-two-hour process of making our own, unique wooden signs-- from sanding, staining, pressing patterns, choosing colors and painting. We had a great time and came away with beautiful art. And for the very, very reasonable cost, I'm surprised there are any openings this winter. Run to DIT!!

This particular event at Emilio's on September 30th was poorly organized. We were quite surprised when the craft supplies we received were different from that which were ordered. The event coordinator said that she emailed me twice, but could not produce proof of said emails and my job requires me to be at my computer much of the day and I know I never received them. Also, stated on the event description was the opportunity to buy a bow to hang the project, and there were no bows available for sale, as the event coordinator stated that the bow lady won't come out this far. Despite these hiccups, my friend and I enjoyed our time painting and hanging out together. If this business hopes to succeed which I hope they do, they need to tighten up their procedures a bit.

My daughter recently performed in her first School of Rock "gig" since beginning to take guitar…read morelessons there. I had not seen the SOR bands perform before. Going in to the performance, I keptr my expectations in check for my daughter, both in terms of her comfort of being on stage and her playing ability. My expectations for the performances overall were tempered as well. I think I expected children to miss notes and to get off rhythm occasionally. I was so impressed with how polished the bands actually sounded. They were all playing music I really enjoy, and doing it really well. I'm even more excited to see how my daughter progresses going forward, and I'm legitimately looking forward to future performances, simply for the chance to listen to good music played well. Thank you to administrators and the instructors for making School of Rock fun for my daughter and for obviously doing such a good job teaching the children to play music.

Collin is also very fair at trying to make sure we are treated fairly when it comes to getting fair value for what we pay for by way of rescheduling lessons and/or crediting us to compensate when makeup lessons aren't an option. *Update as of 12/30/2017 I wrote my previous review based on my personal experience with the intention of returning to resume lessons after taking a short hiatus. I was informed 2 nights ago by a friend that School of Rock abruptly ended their adult program without giving the adult students any notice. I still stand by my positive praise for the teachers. They are great. However this sudden move to end a program that many of us enjoyed and looked forward to without warning is disappointing. This move applies to only 3 locations owned by the same owner. Perhaps there are other SOR facilities that are managed more effectively to accommodate the workload?? I will miss going there and miss the instructors. My experiences with the Elmhurst teachers are nothing less than great. My disappointment with the sudden abandonment of the adult program without any notice remains intact.
