Designers Guild is an eye-popping bevy of furniture, linens, wallpaper, and drapery. It's really worth a visit just to see how marvelously creative people can be when given carte blanche to so. Everything on offer here is so, so, *so* finely-detailed and well-made and beautiful - it's design execution at its pinnacle. They carry the likes of Ralph Lauren Home and Jasper Conran - some designs of which are exclusive to the store. And they just recently launched their own line of fabrics and wallpapers under the name of "The Royal Collection." This line has supposedly been inspired by interiors found in the residences of the Royals - my goodness, it makes me want to see them!!!

While Homesense looks modern and tidy, Dunelm just looks really dated and terribly cluttered. But, if you can get past that then you've come to an Aladdin's cave of homewares. Certainly if I was looking for a new duvet or a pair of curtains, I now know the place to go. The prices were certainly very reasonable and I had to chuckle when I spotted Star Wars: The Force Awakens tissues in a small Star Wars themed area. Insert your own fanboy related joke here.

However, they do have good prices, and lots of choices. They did have a really small Christmas section though, which was a shame. If I needed something in particular, like new curtains, I'd definitely come here. But just to browse, it's a bit too much.

Anyway Rabone Interiors offers quite bold furniture, carpets, lamps and accessories that might look a bit out of place unless you have an elaborate interior theme already existing at your place, or if you intend to undertake the project of re-designing your whole house - that's not entirely necessary as there's nothing wrong with a bit of incongruous, eccentric furniture. They offer an array of bespoke design furniture, drapes and curtains, wall coverings and fabrics, carpets, table lamps and accessories in the form of decorative tassels, cushions and rugs. It's a nice store, they'll supply you with some nice furniture if it is of your taste of course.

The shop's owner, a very chill guy, met all my questions about shipping, furniture care, and the like with friendliness and patience. (Would that I owned a truck, his shop would be empty from all the purchases I'd make!) There were some lovely teak nesting tables, a night stand, a dressing table, many groovy chairs, and dressers that caught my eye. Considering the collectible nature of this type of furniture, I found the prices to be what one would expect. And, really, if you want an Eames chair, then you're going to shell out the bucks for it! There's really no other reason to visit Askew Road, but, if you're in Hammersmith/Acton/Shepherd's Bush, then I'd make the trip! (Bus #266)
