Finally made it to The Paint Cellar for "Pick Your Own Project". Shanna, our instructor, was so kind and helpful and gave personal attention to each painter. I like that The Paint Cellar has more than just canvas options and they provide all the supplies (and more) to allow everyone to channel their inner Bob Ross. Clients pick their project and the price (which varies from $35-$55) includes sipping some of Colorado's finest adult bevvies. This is absolutely perfect for date night, girls night out, or even a birthday party outing. Masks are required except at the painting table. We saw a Groupon equivalent to The Paint Cellar, and so we jumped on it. A group of four of us went over Labor Day weekend. They were very good about seating groups together. I was not overly fond of the viewing angle (pretty much 90 degrees from my canvas), and it was a bit crowded among the stools (but these places usually are). The instruction we received was useful and solid. The music was fine. The crowd seemed happy. It would have been nice if a hair dryer had been available so that the pauses for some people waiting for stuff to dry could have been accelerated. The staff was friendly. The house wine and basic beers were only $3 each, and they went down very easily. I would gladly come back here again. read more

Came here for a painting day with some of my girlfriends and had an excellent time! We did a Saturday morning class, which started out with donuts.....yum! The painting was a ton of fun, and the instructor was great. She'd turn down the music to give instructions, and then turn it back up so we could talk and laugh while we painted. They have a small bar there with wine, beer, and a few mixed drinks. Plus some non-alcoholic stuff as well. And I think you can even order lunch from Which Which down the road. The price wasn't too bad, around $5 for a medium sized drink. So much fun, I will definitely be going back. read more

I came to The paint Cellar this past weekend for a friends Birthday. One of us gals is a regular of this place and can see why! I have gone to the other painting type businesses in the Denver area as well. The concept is the same at all. But I really liked the atmosphere here! The instructor was great and patient. :) the bar has a bigger selection than the other places I've gone and also sells snacks, so that's a plus! They also have clothing and other items for sale too. I really liked the idea of a punch card for around $100, I wish I took advantage! One thing they didn't do like the other places was do a drawing for a free class. That's the only reason I bumped it down to 4 stars bc all the other businesses like this have done That. But I'll definitely be back to try more paintings n will recommend this place to friends! read more

Overall it was meh. It's a nice concept however they need to remember to pay attention to everyone, not just the larger parties. My partner and I were pretty much ignored. I was asked for a tip twice. Tacky. However the lower tip I left matched the level of service. Also, I made reservations with a $5 deposit for each of us. That was supposed to be applied to the tab. There was so much going on that I didn't notice the $10 wasn't applied until I got home. Not worth haggling over. Unlikely that I'll be back. I'll stick with Sipping n Painting on Hampden. read more

They are so awesome! You can choose your own product and they will both encourage and guide you to make your best version of the example. We have been there twice and the experience has been amazing both times. I am not an artist but I have put both my projects on the walls of my home. It is a great place to spend a couple hours creating something you will love for years to come. read more

We attended as an employee appreciation and had an amazing time. The staff was friendly and catered to our party completely. The instruction were very helpful and we all created masterpieces! I would definitely be back if it wasn't so far away from home. The only reason I didn't mark a 5 was I didn't care for the picture we painted. I loved this experience! I thought it was affordable priced (healthcare worker discount Thursday). I do agree that the easels are not ideally placed to watch the lead artist but you aren't staring up there the entire time. You watch for like a minute or two for next step direction and then turn on your merry way to paint. So I don't think it's a big deal. The drinks were also very affordable priced, house Cab was delish. Jessica and Dason were genuine, helpful. I will definitely be back! read more

Been here several times and will be back again! I love the location, the staff is super friendly, and Dacyn does a fabulous job explaining the details of each painting so ANYONE can do it! My husband and I have done paint and drink classes a couple of times in California at Pinots Palette. I've also done a private event in Denver many years ago and this was by far the worst experience out of them. The lady who was the instructor was also the bartender and she knew nothing about drinks. My friend asked for a Bourbon neat and she didn't know what that was so we just told her a shot of bourbon and then if he can get a bottle of water. Then she proceeds to pour the water into his bourbon! And she didn't ask to replace it once we said he wanted it on the side, she just left it! She barely gave any instructions on the painting at all. She was basically painting it by herself and just told us to dab it and that was it. She forgot to put out all the paint colors so halfway through we had to get more paint. This ladies name was Susan, I'm sure if we had a better instructor it would have been better but halfway through we were so frustrated so we just started drinking. Will not be going back- and do not recommend this place to anyone. Will try canvas uncorked in Parker next. It's really cute on the inside but for what your paying for it really sucks- was a waste of money read more

Spent an afternoon here with my 12 year old daughter and husband. We all had a blast. Great atmosphere! We received all of the help and personal attention that we needed. They went above and beyond helping my husband achieve his chinook helicopter masterpiece. Nice drink selection and even some really nice snack options. The price was appropriate. I have been to many places that offer painting/projects and I think The Paint Cellar is by far my favorite. I have been here 3 times now. Twice with my 8 year old daughter for family painting sessions and this most recent visit for the Pick Your Project happy hour craft session. Every time I have been here they have been so welcoming. They are well aware of their audience during the different sessions and accommodate accordingly. They are great hosts and give you the freedom to make things that suite you and your home. The options and instructions on the Pick Your Project were great and easy to follow. They allow flexibility and help you to make that Pinterest board idea a reality. I cannot recommend this place enough. The owners and artists are amazing. I have taken one artist guided class and been to two open paints. I loved both experiences. I have never painted in my life and everyone there is so helpful and encouraging. If you have ever thought about trying something like this I encourage you to go for it.
