This is a great facility - large, clean, has areas to lounge around, has showers, relatively new. I like that they have a wall dedicated to learning different types of holds and terminology, very cool for beginners. They start at V1, there are no V0's. The grades are REALLY soft here, I would say about 3 grades. Imagine how great I felt flashing a V5, lol, but it really felt like a V2. Although the grades are super soft, I enjoyed the bouldering there. The problems were fun and were set well. There was a good movement flow to the bouldering problems, my group really enjoyed them. read more

When I first joined, I was told by the front desk that I can just pay $8 to freeze my account until the day I come back, no mention of it being a monthly fee , then I found out from bank statements I been charged $8 every month since , maybe I misunderstood and it is supposed to be monthly now when I checked their website, but if I knew I would have canceled my account 3 months ago instead of freezing the account. Now I tried to cancel membership online but only allowed to do that starting June , it's April right now . read more

Awesome customer service (especially grace!!) staff are friendly, patient and appear to enjoy their jobs which I feel says a lot about a company. I was told they rotate the stones multiple times a week. Everything was clean beyond the chalk everywhere, and my kid had a great time. They have great Groupon specials sometimes too. read more

I saw the Groupon offer & I loved it. This was my first time experiencing this so I thought it was fun & it was also a bit of a workout for me. The small walls (or bouldering) were a nice warm up & it made me realize my upper body strength is at an all time minimum. They have the walls color coded and labeled to let you know if it's considered easy or challenging. A beautiful, brand new facility. Nice training area. Friendly staff. Owners who are involved in day-to-day operations. Just walking into this place you go, "Wow!" Why a 3 star review? THE HEAT. I went to this gym's grand opening, excited to see what they had to offer. The owners that I interacted with were friendly and psyched, awesome! The route setting was lackluster, but I could have gotten over that had it not been for the heat. What I could not get over was how incredibly hot this place was. I understand it was over 110, my car said 115 in the parking lot. Henderson gets hot...it's the hottest part of the Valley. Having a beautiful new facility to escape the heat and train when Red Rock is too hot, or even Charleston is quite warm, was something I know a lot of folks were looking forward to. When everyone who isn't even moving around are sweating bullets, when the fans aren't even turned on, and it was easily 90+ degrees inside, that is the point where the amazing things that the owners obviously spent a ton of money on are negated. In an effort to re-hydrate after sweating bullets attempting to climb, even the water from the water fountain came out steaming hot. Granted, Origin had all sorts of beverages for sale in coolers, but I just wanted some water and had already paid $17 to come climb for the day. The good news is that these are things that can be changed, and should be changed,,,,quickly. read more

My wife and I flew to Vegas to check this gym out, as well as the competition. I work in the climbing industry as a Head Routesetter at a commercial gym and have over 20 years of experience. That said, this is one of, if not the best gym I've ever visited. The walls are beautiful, the hold selection is fantastic and it's huge! They have nearly 400 bouldering problems as well as roped climbing. I really liked the variation in wall height, giving good opportunities for climbers of all ages and abilities. The routesetting is very good, with an amazing selection of easier routes for non-advanced climbers. My wife climbs V1, and she had a great time. There are tons of problems in her range. The flooring is perfect, not too soft or hard. This is clearly the best gym in Vegas. read more

Started off with their awesome Groupon offer of 4 days and after that I was hooked. Now I'm a member, come twice a week and can't get enough! You never run out of problems as they change them up all the time. (I believe it's weekly). The staff is always nice and welcoming. There's always someone at the front desk in case you need anything and often times I see them patrolling the gym making sure everything looks right. The entire place is kept very clean, including the bathrooms. The weight room is on the smaller side but the quality of what they have in there is great. There is a yoga room also with yoga classes soon to come. They do kids classes and will train/certify adults to actually properly use the climbing ropes. read more

The only reason I'm giving it 4/5 is because the day I went it was their anniversary so the price was double for a day pass. I love this place! The facility is fantastic. You can go by yourself with the auto belay option and take a class on how to belay with a partner. It is very clean and the routes are being regularly changed. They also have a small gym focused on equipment to improve your climbing ability. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They are adding new perks all the time, like some early hours, yoga and fitness classes, and even an adult summer camp weekend. They are a 45 minute drive from me and it is worth it... But I'd love them to open other locations! read more

So glad I found this place!! The facilities are CLEAN. FREE Yoga and $10 for kickass climbing based str/cond. every Wednesday. They have a good variety of soft and hard problems (apparently the most set problems in Las Vegas too??) 6 auto belay devices. A lead wall and more than 10 regular belay stations. Anyways, the reason I'm writing this review- I've been here 1.5 months and so far have attended 3 different events. Some kind of setters convention where setters came from all over and diversified the walls and then they made a successful event out of it, a screening of USAclimbing finals. finally, today a charity bake raising money to incorporate adaptive climbing (for disabled peeps) into the large facility here. My point is I'm blown away at how involved this gym is, it's really cool and it makes me feel good being part of it. Thus the review, thx for reading! read more

This place is huge, clean, new, and has a ton (I think actually like 500?) of bouldering problems. Context: I was in town for CES and hadn't climbed in a week or so. I didn't think I'd get a chance to climb so didn't bring any stuff, but found a deal online that included rental gear (including chalk bag!) in the day pass. Staff: The guy who helped me out was super nice. I've never rented gear before so didn't really know what size shoe I wore in the rentals and couldn't quite figure out the alpine-ish rental harnesses. The whole staff was great -- friendly and attentive but not in an overwhelming way. Gym: The bathroom is clean and they don't allow you to wear climbing shoes inside, which is great (and I think the first gym I've been to that did this.) It makes a ton of sense so crap doesn't end up on the shoes and then on foot/hand holds. The holds are all really clean and well textured (either well maintained, new, or a combination). The roped stuff is pretty limited -- I think ~40 ft tall or so and only a small section of the gym but includes lead, top rope, and auto belays. Bouldering is where it's at here. There's slabby stuff, compression-y stuff, overhangs, traverses, and dynos on walls ranging from 10-20 feet. I think the only thing I missed was a real cave/roof section -- they had decently overhung routes but nothing really 90 degrees. Also no top outs but the floors are super padded and I never felt sketched out. Minor thing -- the walls are glossy so you can't really smear (or maybe that was just user error on my part) so it was a different style of climbing than I'm used to.. read more

I love climbing here whenever I am in Vegas and need my climbing fix. The owner of the gym was awesome enough to show me some tips for giving out slack when lead belaying using a GriGri. As an ATC user that was much appreciated. He also told me a fact I had not heard before with regards to not being able to catch factor 2 falls on thinner ropes such as a 9.2 using anything other than a GriGri. I think I will definitely add a GriGri to my collection of ATC and MegaJul. The gym is awesome for bouldering since they have an insane amount of problems to work on. Went today with a couple friends used the groupon. Its reasonably priced and easy to find. None of us are experienced climbers but we wanted to do something fun so we gave it a shot. There were many levels for bouldering ( my favorite) as well as the auto belay which was fun but a little scary to me (afraid of heights) it was not to busy being as it was sunday so we had a lot of the wall to ourselves and it allowed us to try the harder level routes. It was clean and the mats were perfect not to hard not to soft. (I fell a lot ) the staff was friendly and very helpful with tips. It was bright and well layed out the space is open and easy to maneuver threw because the floor isn't all mats there are walk ways. It was definitely worth the money spent. Really nice place. Lots of space, clean, very friendly. A ton of bouldering, 6 or 7 (I think?) auto belays, bunch of top ropes and sport climbing. The routes (super fun!) are marked by colored holds instead of tape, which is actually a really nice touch and makes them easy to follow. And none of the holds spin around on you! read more

What a great place to climb! The staff is very friendly and space is huge!!! They have hundreds of boulder problems, a bunch of auto belay, toprope, and lead routes. Their fitness equipment is brand new. Whether you are new to climbing or are a seasoned veteran this place has something for everyone. My favorite part of this gym is the "woody" or 45deg wall. Origin gives you the option to create your own route and add it into the big book of boulder problems. This is such a cool idea that I haven't seen at any other gyms. I came here last weekend looking to try out some rock climbing. I am a fairly strong person, but I was still really nervous to try rock climbing! Lacey helped us get started and hooked it up with a "newbie" deal. She and the other staff person were extremely friendly and helpful. I was not at all intimidated to try this new activity. The place is huge and was not over crowded whatsoever - even on a Saturday. Good music is playing throughout the gym. They have a small fitness area and a yoga area. I like how you can take a yoga class even if you just purchase a day pass. Lacey told me there's a Groupon deal going on now, and I will probably purchase it with my next paycheck... highly recommend this place if you are new to rock climbing! read more

Full disclosure about me. I am a climber. I happen to live in one of the best places in the world for climbing. Given the choice, I will always climb outside. There are only three reasons why I can't climb outside. 1. I can't find someone to climb with. 2. It has rained in the last 2 days. 3. I don't have time to go outside (like after work). When one of those three things happen, I climb indoors. I have been a member of the west side climbing gym (r2c2) for over 2 years now. I went to this, the newest gym, today. I was hoping to find a place that was so good that I would travel the 31 miles it takes me to get there. I did not. Here are the great things about Origin. It is new. It is clean. It has a small weight room. It is big. It has a butt load of bouldering. The bouldering routes are very good. There are no highball bouldering problems like the other bouldering gym. It has six auto belays each with about three routes each. It has probably 15 to 20 lead climbing routes. It has a very large training area with fingerboards. If you are serious about training for climbing, then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a "gym", then go to the LVAC. In the end, it comes down to where you live. It is bigger than the west side gym, but doesn't really have much more in the way of climbing goes. It has more bouldering, but less lead climbing. If I lived in Henderson, then this would be my new gym. I do not, and will probably only go here if I am climbing with someone who dos. The staff is very friendly, and it is obvious that they are climbers. I am glad that this city finally has a few options for indoor climbing. read more
