Friendly staff, I've been climbing for 12 years and honestly I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Long overdue review but here we are, even if I've long moved out. The Pad is a solid climbing gym in Henderson for anyone and everyone. And in case you don't know, climbing is all the rage, especially in Vegas. The levels are definitely more difficult, either that or I suck hahaha. Regardless, there's a lot of diversity in what you can do here and the community is fun and supportive. Membership fees are affordable, rentals are always free (which is huge), and it's open, if I recall, very late into the night. So if you work weird hours, you can still get your climbing fix. So there you go, a good climbing gym with good facilities and resources for anyone and everyone. read more

Such a great work out! We came during a week day which was great because it wasn't too busy. $15 for day pass and it includes the shoes. GO BEFORE 4PM to get that price. They also have membership options and night climbs as well. If you are very interested highly recommend looking into their classes. The gym was a great size and a lot of courses to take around. They also provide Chalk and accessible Cubby Holes. Great for a large group. Worth the price if you are staying all day. Highly recommend being a little fit. The next day your body will hurt. Females make sure you don't have extended nails which would make it difficult to climb. Lots of parking, great stall! Definitely check this place out. read more

Took my daughter here for the first time the other day. We came with a group of friends and everyone had a blast. I love that they have auto belay spots. The person who helped us was very kind and attentive. Next time we go I want to try and climb too. Definitely recommend! They even have a little work out area too. There are some weights, monkey bars, as well as a few other things. read more

Eh this place is okay. The people are nice. You can choose to boulder or rockclimb. There's even a little part where you can lift weights. The sad turnoff was the fact that I could only use the auto belay when rock climbing.. That's so lame. Idk, I usually go to Nevada Climbing Center, and the people there teach you how to belay with a partner. My friend was telling me how you need to be certified or something to use their belays for rockclimbing.. It was a spacious place. There's even a lobby area and a ping pong table. You can choose your own size for climbing shoes. You can even buy some equipment there, but in my opinion, this would not be my go-to place. read more

Love the auto-belays and the fact that there are a mixture of 3 grades or so to choose from under each one. I loved not having to belay and my kid loved going down. It was like getting a ride. Great and friendly service at the front desk. $15 for a children's pass which was a decent deal. This included a harness but we had brought our own. Fun slackline area with the setting friendly enough I could let my kid work it without worry of injury. Definitely more bouldering focused as the rope area was pretty small. Setting was decent. The lower grades were generally child friendly too, in terms of reach. Main negative is the place is very dirty. The holds are dirty, the pads are dirty. I know this is a climbing gym - but it is noticeably dirty and dusty compared to any gym I've been to. You'll be cleaner climbing outdoors at Kraft boulders. Also most of the bouldering walls have no down climbing rings. You'll have to jump as there are also no v0 climbs peppered strategically around as an alternative tothem. I think only one of the non-freestanding walls had downclimbing rings. Love the ping pong table! read more

Came for a first-time visit and fell absolutely in love with this climbing gym! I happened to come in time for their early bird discount so it was only $15 per person, which includes chalk, shoes, and a harness for belay climbing. Definitely a steal. It's a VERY spacious gym with a ton of bouldering routes, as well as a smaller weights area, a slackline, a wall for belaying, and even a ping pong table. I only started bouldering a few months ago and there were plenty of V0s and V1s to keep me occupied. If you're a more experienced climber though, there are a ton more difficult routes to do too. I also liked being able to climb using their auto-belay system. I've never belayed before so a friendly staff member gave me a quick 2-minute crash course on how to use it and that was that! To do the regular 2-person belay climbing, it looks like you need to take a class in advance. The only thing that isn't the best is that while there are giant ceiling fans, the AC (if any) is not strong, so if you go when the weather is like 110 degrees out like I did, expect to be a little warm inside. Bring a water bottle so you can stay hydrated! They have a water bottle filling station so you're good on that. Also, I noticed that there were complimentary pads/tampons in the women's restroom. I have literally never been in any public restroom that offers that so it was a total surprise and joy to see that. Love love love! Can't wait to visit when I'm in the area again. read more

This was so fun!!! Prices aren't that bad! The day pass is $23. And the price from 11am - 4pm, M-F is $15. There is 6 autobelays and a free weight area. They take their time to make sure you know how to work the autobelays before you're on your own. It seems the week days are not too busy so you're not waiting a long time for your climb. They also have a tight rope area. I wish there were more autobelays areas but the ones they do have are challenging, so there's still plenty to master. read more

Off and on rock climber for past 8+ years and this is the best climbing gym in the Vegas/Henderson area. I mainly boulder, so this gym is more my style. Definitely more bouldering here than top roping or lead climbing, but the spaciousness, cleanliness (in comparison to other gyms in town) and the route setting is the best I have ever experienced for indoor gyms. Also does not have top outs for bouldering like other gyms but not a deal breaker for me. Great place to get out of the heat for the summer while outdoor climbing is in off season. Prices have increased, but prices everywhere has increased (darn inflation). $23 for adult day pass, $200 for a 10-day punch card, $108 for a monthly membership (cheaper if you auto withdraw), and $800 for the annual membership as of this post. Annual membership also let's you get one friend in free per month. Not sure about this one, but also members who bring in first timers (it'll be free day pass for the visitor) [needs verification if that's still a thing]. All and all, great gym, has some weight lifting equipment, cycle machines, treadmills, dedicated slackline section, moon board, ping pong, and other amenities. I've been looking for a climbing gym and a friend actually recommended this place! Although it's a bit far from where I live, I don't mind driving the distance because the people and the atmosphere is really nice. The place is nice and spacious-- they even have workout equipment in its own area! I like that it's only $15 for a day pass (early bird!) and the chalk and shoe rentals are included! The staff is really nice, they'll help you out with any questions. I also love the fact that they have a study room-- or as they call it, coworking space, with free wifi. So if you ever need a break and want to chill, you can hangout there. They have a community white board, where people are able to connect/network with one another if they're looking for new friends to climb with! That's pretty awesome. This was a fun, new experience for me. My brother is an avid climber, visiting climbing gyms everywhere he travels. He suggested climbing at Origin and I was happy to join. The gym is large and clean with many climbing walls for all levels. One wall is dedicated to climbing with auto belays. They have a workout room with equipment like treadmills too. In the lobby there are light snacks and refreshments for purchase. In the climbing areas there are benches and a seating area for observers or to rest. To climb there are options that range from day passes to monthly memberships. Classes are offered too. A day pass is reasonable at $17. With Yelp check in the climbing gear rental is free for the first visit. Once we paid and had our rental gear an employee gave us a quick tour and introduction to the gym. Then we were on our own to climb. There were many walls and paths to choose from for free climbing. Paths are color coded and labeled V1, V2, etc. to indicate difficulty level. The wall of auto belays had plenty. We never felt crowded or waited to climb despite it being a Saturday morning. Overall, the gym is beautiful with options for all levels. Beginners and avid climbers alike will enjoy themselves here. read more

Regardless of your climbing ability, you'll have a good time here. There's something for every level. Your able to Boulder (climb without a rope with thick pads under you), there's auto belays for the solo climber that wants to be a little safer, and of course you can have people to belay you as well with rope climbing. (Side note, belay refers to the rope that you are harnessed into so if you fall, someone is there to "catch" you.) There are some free weights so you don't have to join another gym just to get your lift on, you can accomplish that right here. Looking to shower pre- or post- climb/workout? This place has got you covered. If you forgot you climbing shoes, well they got you covered with free rentals. There's even a slack line to play with. Overall you'll have a good time here so give it a chance and check it out the next time your in the Henderson area. read more

Great, chill atmosphere. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and got a day pass ($15 per person) and climbed a bunch of routes. Shoe rentals are included in the day pass. The routes are labeled by grade (V1-6), not by color, so it can be a little confusing at first. We had a great time climbing! However, I do wish they had a separate fitness area for weights, cardio, etc. The equipment is clustered in the middle of the building, and the floors are dusty. They do have yoga mats, but even those are dirty too. I understand this is a climbing gym, but I like to get other types of workouts in as well, so I would have liked a separate area for gym equipment, away from the climbing walls. Otherwise, the staff here are very friendly, so if you're in the area, I certainly recommend stopping by! read more

My daughter wanted to do some rock climbing again and a friend invited us to come try this place. It was hard to find, even with directions but we managed to track it down. The place is wide open inside and much larger than I expected. Very clean and they make sure you take off your climbing shoes before going into the restroom...makes people like me very appreciative. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. You have to fill out a waiver before climbing, I wish I had known that before and I would have filled it out online. They have equipment rentals for $6. There are day passes and punch passes. There were so many areas to climb and variety of difficulties. I also liked that they had the harnesses that attaches to the top of the wall so I could just let my daughter climb and at any time she could let go and it would gradually let her down. There are little cubbies for shoes, bags, etc. This place really was a cool place with so many class options and things going on. read more

This place is super dope. customer service is a bit timid to say the least, but the environment has a lot to offer. Bouldering walls are great and there are various levels of difficulty for climbers of all backgrounds. I don't go climbing often, but when I do, I absolutely love coming here. They have a small fitness center and the facility is bigger than the red rock climbing center close to summerlin. For the price and quality, I definitely feel like this spot is the best all around for climbers and fitness junkies. It is honestly such a blast to be here and they offer all the materials you need to climb any wall. The staff leaves you alone for the most part and offers guidance when you ask. Not much more you can ask for. I just wish the moving wall was available when we go, because all the times I have visited with my best friends, the moving wall is never on and the staff haven't allowed us to utilize it. This spot is great overall, for small and large parties. Highly recommend this place if you love climbing, or want to learn. read more

We came here to celebrate our daughters 9th Birthday along with 10 of her friends from school. The girls had a great time. They didn't want to get off the walls! This is the only time I let the kids climb the walls. Ha ha This place is huge. I haven't been to other climbing places but I've heard that from a parent at our party that this is larger than the place they seen. They have so many walls of different difficulty. My 6 and 9 year old both found things that they could do and things that were super challenging for them. The staff that helped the kids were helpful and attentive to the kids. The party room was an issue though. When we got there the girl at the front desk didn't know that there was a birthday party scheduled. She said we could set up in the room while while she spoke to the manager. When my wife got into the room there was a girl in there. My wife told her that we rented the room for a birthday party and we needed the space for the kids and their parents. The girl was upset but left. It wasn't until the end of the party when the manager told us that the room we were in was a common room that is shared by everyone. My wife said that she thought we were getting a private room. The manager told her that the information was in the contract in the email that we signed. We felt bad for kicking the girl out. The manager also told us that this was the first birthday party she had done. It wasn't until when we got home and got to look at the email with the contract. It said that we were supposed to have " Exclusive use of the party room". I wondered why the manager told us different. I looked and found other emails that were sent before the contract and it said in that one that we had use of the common room. There is conflicting information on those emails. I think this could be a cool place to have birthday parties if they can get their information straight. There also needs to be a dedicated birthday room. I don't think people who use the common room want to be in there while there are a bunch of kids making birthday party noises. Also I don't want other people in a room where I'm trying to have a birthday party. One last thing. They need to get harnesses that fit kids. The ones that were supplied to us were big. Yes, they adjust, but when then the kids where clipped onto the rope, the carabiner was hitting them in the chest. They complained how much it hurt them. The next day my daughter complained about being sore where the carabiner was hitting her in the chest. read more

What: indoor rock climbing 10th birthday party! This place is HUGE and so cute with all the colors! It looked like fruity pebbles everywhere. Service: Great professional customer service from beginning to end with Mackenzie. She answered all my questions on the phone and emailed me to follow up. Technically, we were supposed to have 2 helpers, but the place was empty and we ended up with 4 helpers, so yay! Joey, Sam and the two gals that pitched in were really awesome. The kids got pooped out and their fingers started to hurt, so they mixed it up with some games of dodgeball and night at the museum. After cake there was still some time to kill so they played another round of dodgeball - these kids had endless energy! Cost: birthday parties are $19 a person with a minimum of 12 kids with a ratio of 1:6 (1 helper for every 6 kids) for 2 hours. We invited her whole class, but ended up with 11 kids total. Seriously, parents do not understand RSVP!! Kills me. Parties include the party room, 2 helpers and special shoes and harness for each kid. Each kid got a free day pass for a future use instead of a traditional goodie bag. Upon request, they will create a personalized invitation that you can print out for each kid. I printed them in color at FedEx/Kinkos. You need to bring your own decorations, table clothes, plates, napkins, forks, drinks, knife, etc. which is fine by me because I would do that anyway. Location: hard to find as on Google Maps it's hard to understand that the place is located in the back! Tip: I think this party venue is good for the older kids (maybe 9 and up) that can control themselves a bit more, are more independent to be able to clip themselves in/out and listen to the rules for climbing and getting back down and watching out for people below. They have reasonably priced summer camps too ($150/per week early registration) so we may have to check that out too! read more

I have learned to really like this gym. Its got a lounge, a workout area, several auto belays, and a lots of lead and top rope. The walls are pretty awesome. They grade it close to outdoor rock climbing so be prepared for some of the V2s because most of them are pretty hard. They set hard at this gym and I kinna like it that way. It makes you a better climber in my opinion. It also has a shower and they recently added the fitness center where you can see a physical therapist for your fitness needs. The only thing I wish there was nearby was a food place cuz I sure get hungry when I climb. Anyways, staff is friendly and they're super helpful. read more

Great setters and even greater community! I've been coming here for a few months just to try it out. Since then, I've been hooked and got my membership. It's open 24hrs with a membership so it's nice to go before work or late at night to work on problems. Even if you don't have a membership, the hours for day passes are nice. Everyone at check in is very knowledgeable, friendly, and easy going. Shoutout to everyone here because they're amazing and so helpful. They make coming back worth it! The problems themselves get switched out every few weeks, so there's always something new for you to work on. They're challenging and will stick in your head long after you've left the gym. read more

I like to climb things and if I can't get outdoors due to weather or time constraints there's no better option than to climb indoors in a nice climate controlled gym. I mean who doesn't like air conditioning when it's 109F outside, em I right? Besides, unlike the outdoors all the problems are concentrated in one place, there are no shrubs/tree/cacti or ankle breaking rocks next to the problems you want to climb, you don't have to haul around a crashpad, and best of all there's a bathroom really close by. Origin is pretty big. The staff is very friendly and personable. Lots of walls and the route setters are consistently coming up with new problems which is great if you're a regular since old problems get stale like french bread you leave out on the counter for a few days. Keep in mind that Origin is more biased toward bouldering although rope climbing (lead and top rope) is also available just not as well represented. Speaking of rope climbs there are several auto belayers so if you're climbing by yourself you can still hop on some routes without having to make friends, make eye contact, or make small talk. It's an introverts dream! The bouldering problems range in difficulty from V0 to V9 (sometimes higher) and each problem uses one color for all the holds to reduce the guess work. The problems range from crimpy, slope-y, juggy, under-clingy, balance-y, dyno-y, tuffy whuffy, and impossible-y. Something for everyone. A few unique things about Origin is that they have a climbing wall treadmill if you want to build up some crazy endurance. There are also a couple of Kilter Walls where you can create your own problems using an app that lights up different holds on the walls as well as increase the difficulty level by adjusting the wall overhang angle. There is also a weight room and yoga studio. The place has pretty much everything you need to train yourself from noobie to slightly less noobie (and beyond). Take it from me (the Duke of Origin as recognized by Yelp) the place is a great home base to climb and blow off some stream. You know what sucks...driving 30 mins across town to use the gym only to find out it doesn't open until 1100 (maps shows it opens at 1000). The website doesn't work either so no way to confirm one way or another. What makes it even worse is when the manager meets you out front, proceeds to make excuses, and says he can't open the register until 1100. Thanks for nothing! read more

It's supper affordable but it's very dirty. The mats really could use a clean. We left covered in dirt and grime. The holds are grungy. I remember this as Origin Climbing and it really feels like it's gone down hill. Please clean up the space! read more

I came in with a group of friends one evening with no climbing experience whatsoever to try something new- and the staff and regulars at Origin made this a great first experience! Location is very clean and organized, and there is a large variety of bouldering and belay routes available, and everything is clearly marked. The auto belay area was my favorite, and regulars said that routes are frequently changed up to keep things interesting. After climbing for a while, it was cool to just sit back and watch the experienced climbers and their techniques. Lockers, weight rooms and classes (including yoga!) are available for members. There are daily pass options for those who don't come regularly enough to make it worthwhile- first visit is discounted with Yelp check in. read more

I drive 45 minutes across town two or three times a weeks to climb at Origin. I love the setup and routes they have. You get a fresh wall of new routes each week. They aren't afraid to challenge your mind and it's refreshing to climb without worry of figuring out tape. You climb the color you start on. One of my favorite gyms i have ever visited. Super cool staff, great sets, not too empty but not too busy, good vibes, just all around awesome gym. The top rope and lead walls are quite short for my liking, but according to the staff you wont find much better anywhere else in Vegas (at a gym) great lounge area for taking a break or finishing up some homework. Plus they have showers which was truly life changing a week into a redrock trip. 11/10 climbing gym unless you're just going for ropes. read more

I LOVE this place. It's unlike any other climbing gym I've been to in terms of their offerings and policies. 24-hour access for members? Free equipment rentals? Weights area? Tons of auto-belays? They offer classes and allow you to bring guests like others but did I mention a slack line too and hang out spots? Cool staff at the front desk, I haven't taken any courses but looking forward to coming here for years to come!
