Most definitely I recommend this place. What an amazing security guard? Here is one of the most amazing people I've ever met in my life.. After i came to this place. I realize how amazing random people can be. I have to be so grateful to Piff... He went above and beyond to take care of us. Thank you so much. We will be coming back every day any day.

Chicago mule

Super cute dive bar. Bartenders were averagely friendly. They weren't able to make a birthday cake shot ‍. Lemon drop was good. The worst mule I've ever tasted. It was comparable to cleaning solution. I took about 3 sips and left 90% of the drink over.

the bar is very dark and the only lighting is candles across the bar. they had a decent photo booth and vending machine (free plan b!). the drinks were pricey and there was nothing too crazy that made it stand out. feels more like a sit down and catch up or blind date bar not socialize. service was also decent - semi attentive nothing insane.

Great bar in Chicago for drinks and chill ambiance. Masks are required at the door but you can remove them immediately at the bar. The staff was friendly (bouncer & bartender) & I enjoyed my drink. I stopped by at 12:45am on a Wednesday & there was a good amount of people there. The music was like 90s rock; im not too familiar with that genre so I could be wrong, but it was nice background music. No billboard 100 songs here, but good vibes all the same. Best thing about this place is that they are open later than most other spots in the area and the drinks were like $8-$10. Win-win. Check 'em out if you're in the area!

Clown Shoes 12.5% beer, yum!

Like a beacon of hope on a stormy night, The Owl sticks out in the overcrowded, overpriced spots popping up in Logan Square. I've passed by The Owl many times and never thought much of it. I finally stopped in this past weekend and am happy to say I will be stopping in much more. We grabbed a seat up at the bar and were taken care of right away, checked in on often, and just felt like we got the proper attention the whole night. Beer prices are completely reasonable and we were really happy with their beer list. They had a great draft list, even better list of bottle & cans, plus had some specialty cocktails. I ordered a Clown Shoes brew and thought it was super sweet that the bartender not only warned me about it being 12.5% but also brought me out an ice water along with it. Minutes earlier, a girl of no more than 110 lbs plummeted to the ground in a thunderous thud that I would never have imagined a tiny thing that size could produce. Her drunken stupor of a fall shook the entire bar and required three men pulling her pancaked body up off the ground. The girl got up and started gyrating vigorously, I'm assuming, in an attempt to dance along to the music. So....based on those events, I'm on board with the warning on the alcohol content & water from the bartender. Bonus points for having a cassette tape vending machine - word up. Inside track...My first tape was either Jon Secada, Green Day or En Vogue...one of the three for sure. I mention that because they actually played Free Your Mind the night I was in! Super random music selection ranging from 90s R&B like that to punk rock Bikini Kill. If it's Saturday night in Logan Square and you're looking for somewhere chill, don't care about being in 'the scene' and are up for some good drinks, I highly recommend The Owl.

Belligerent naughtiness. Had to help calm down a fight while in line. Nice cute people. Some mean people too. Would go back.

All because a few years back my brother took me to his favorite cocktail bar in Detroit and I hated…read morethe drinks and was a sourpuss about it he usually refuses to take me to his other treasured places. However I think the holiday spirit got to him a couple of weeks ago because he took me to Consignment which is one of he and his wife's faves. The name is as it says - the bar doubles as a secondhand store and whatever is on display is for sale. I adored it! The service was awesome - I always love chopping it up with Black bartenders - and the crowd was very very queer. I was legitimately in heaven. So much doesn't feel safe right now - especially with the J6 goon squad running amok in Chicago trafficking people. It was nice to be among my people enjoying great drinks in a buzzy atmosphere. Because we are old, we got there by 730 on a Saturday and surprisingly it was already packed! Patience won the day though and within 45 minutes we snagged some stools against the wall. I had a great time here and hope to return!

Anyone who enjoys both vintage and a tasty libation will love Consignment Lounge! The decor (most…read morefor sale) is outstanding. Some prices were not too bad, but some things were rather costly. While I have so far only been there one time, I would imagine the decor switches often, since it's mostly all for sale. So always something new to see! I got the vibe that many regulars stopped in, as the bartenders were familiar with many faces. The service was excellent, even for us, a couple of first-timers. This bar may not be ideal for large-ish parties, due to how seating is. For instance, we go out often with two other couples, and I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable showing up with a group of six, in case they were busy, and we could not all sit together. I failed to ask if they reserve the bigger seating areas, so maybe that is an option. Draft beer folks may be let down, as they seemingly only ever have three taps, with one being seasonal and not noted on the website. Their "lite" beer option is not listed on the website, but rather noted to be posted on-site. Since this place has been on my radar, Son of Juice is constant on the draft beer menu. Worth noting is that they do have a longer list of bottles and cans. I have not tried any of their craft cocktails, but it's not a bad list. Must mention that they have a cool little basket of vintage pins, in case anyone reading this is into those. I found one that was from an annual tractor pull event near Green Bay, WI that I used to attend almost every year when I lived in the area.

Yet, the bartenders greet us with such a warm and friendly energy that I know with absolute certainly that I have been a regular at this bar for years. Decades. Centuries. I know within my soul that this was my go-to bar in a past life (and hopefully in the next). Just as welcoming as the awesome people are the $1 PBRs and $3 shots of tequila. And of course they hand out free hot dogs every night at midnight, which in my (intoxicated) mind was cemented as the definitive Chicago dog, even if it comes with no toppings whatsoever. And fittingly complementing the amazing energy of the bar is a 10 hour Youtube video of that memed Ukrainian kid dancing at a club playing endlessly on the TVs. Rocking sunglasses and looking like a stud, absolutely grooving without a single care in the world, and effortlessly matching every single song on the bar's playlist. That kid truly embodies the spirit of this bar. No matter what day it is, what time of day it is, or who visits, the bar's energy always works. Vibing to Black Eyed Peas on a Monday night never felt better. Imma be... back one day, rest assured. I genuinely can't wait for the next time I'm greeted with, "Welcome back."

The fact that pretty much all of the 1-stars here are from entitled whiners who had issues with security or didn't like the music tells you all you need to know if you're a well-behaved adult looking for a grown-up space to safely be yourself. The staff takes security very seriously, which is absolutely vital in a club of their size that keeps the hours they do in a majority residential neighborhood. It's possible they're overly cautious sometimes, but I'd rather somewhere cared too much about safety than too little. Compared to most "underground" spots, they're downright immaculate. I adored Neo, but LB feels like dancing in someone's living room by comparison. But don't let the classed up decor fool you--the staff are nightlife industry veterans who have been over your sh*t for decades. Had a bad experience? I guarantee you were probably the wrong one.
