Working from home means I'm here all the time, and having pets around doesn't help things either. About a month ago, I scrubbed my house top to bottom, and it took several hours over two days. It always hangs over my head and stresses me out, but it's a part of life, right? I always assumed house cleaners were extremely expensive, and only for people of a much higher pay grade than myself. But after some advice to check out Thumbtack, I found Debbie, who offers a really affordable service. Once Debbie has come by a few hours, my house looks brand new again. At 2:30 PM, I sent a text message because I understand that sometimes unexpected situations come up. By 3:00 PM, I called simply hoping for an update or estimated arrival time. It is now 4:30 PM, and I still have not received any communication. I am hoping this was an isolated situation, because the lack of communication is extremely unprofessional. As shown, I was originally quoted $301 through Thumbtack, although during our phone conversation I was told it would likely be around $200, with the understanding that the price could change. Honestly, I was surprised by the lower quote, as I was expecting to pay closer to $400-$500 for a deep cleaning. I specifically arranged this service because I have company coming this weekend and was relying on the additional help due to a medical condition that makes standing and bending for long periods difficult. Thankfully, my home is generally maintained, so this was intended to be a more detailed cleaning rather than an emergency situation. At this point, I am very disappointed with the experience and will be letting others know not to rely on this company for scheduled services.
