We found the venue, very well decorated and gave a very homely feel. All floors in the building have been used and are open to customers and I can highly recommend the top floor lounge area with a sofa and chairs. We only had a hot drink, but we will be back soon to sample the breakfast menu and will write a report on that too. Highly recommend a visit.

The place itself is so clean and super spacious. Two levels with the WC on the bottom level. The large windows on the top level allow you to seat and watch the street outside. So more about this love affair, the coffee is brilliant, the cakes taste fantastic and the tea is a relaxing and soothing as the cute little tea pot suggests. The staff working were friendly and happy to offer advice (to me and another customer who had 21 questions about the origin of the coffee) - credit where credits due, the young chap answering knew the answer to every question! They are also linked to next door, a sandwich shop which is perfect for lunch and you can even order from one side and go and sit in the other or vice versa. Owned by the same husband & wife partnership and matched with the same awesome decor. It's not often I'm in Birmingham but one thing for sure is this fling is sure to continue every time I venture in!

The menu wasn't extensive but there was a very good selection of dishes all of which were cooked wonderfully and the portion control was perfect. Amongst the four covers (Chicken stuffed with Shropshire blue cheese and wrapped in smoked bacon, Lamb and Apricot pie and Vegetable tarts) we were served a selection of salads (bean, fruit and nut and traditional green leaf) as well as a selection of stir fried vegetables. This was very novel and ensured we could pick and choose our accompaniments. The wine selection was also very nice - the Pinot Grigo went down far too well and we managed to consume a couple bottled with ease. It would be too easy to over look The Olive Branch but if you're in town do yourself a favour and drop in as you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'd argue the baristas here are even more skilled than those at the Monmouth at the Borough Market in London. I've been several times and can't seem to get enough. It'll take a few minutes for your drink, but it's absolutely worth the wait. As if that weren't enough, they actually make some pretty delicious sandwiches as well. I had a free-range chicken with lemon mayo that was something special, and my better half had an equally tasty egg and watercress. It seems that Box Brownie can do no wrong!

I went in today and had a soy latte while at a meeting. The coffee was the best I have had in Birmingham I think partly die to the beans being roasted on site and partly due to the fantastic soy milk they are using. Truly a great cup of the dark stuff. I had a look at he breakfast and lunch options and they all also look amazing I'll be back in to munch on them all soon I'm sure.....how can you not?! If you haven't been to quarter horse then go asap. The ideal spot to work, relax or just get a coffee to go. Lovely
