Adorbs!! I'm a "ceiling" fan of this cute tearoom! Cassandra's Cup had me weak! We came here after…read morevisiting Jane Austen's Chawton home and popped into this precious shop for some scones and tea afterwards. The lady behind the counter was a smidge abrupt. There's no sign to seat yourself, so when I said "party of two" she said curtly, "two what?" I said two for a table, and she said seat yourself. So we sat and took in the cool ambiance with teacups dangling from the ceiling, the shelves of tea pots and plates, and the fabulous lamps! After sitting for a few minutes, we noticed the sign on the table that said to order at the counter. Ohhhh, you could have mentioned that up front... it would have been courteous for her to say, "Hello! I can take you order now! Then you can have a seat in the dining room." Ahhhh Well, we were so enthralled with the pretty décor we overlooked the saucy server... we had pots of tea and luscious scones which was the perfect snack after a leisurely walk through Jane's house and garden! The scones were dense and delicious, served with jam and clotted cream. Our respite was lovely and our visit to the English countryside was complete! Jane would have loved it! They outdoor seating was so inviting as well! With a dollop of kindness and hospitali-tea this would be a 5 star experience!
