Sometimes it's impossible to find a seat, but if the weathers OK it's not a problem as there's plenty of seating in the Gunwharf. When this Starbucks opened it didn't have toilet facility. I often used to bag the sofa at the back, and if I'd had a pound for every ti,me some one had asked me if they had a toilet I'd be rich by now! However a while ago they put in toilets, so now it's even better. Oh one little thing, they often run out of spoons (and you normally have to ask for one anyway), if like me you dislike the wooden stirrers.

The food is always cooked to order fresh so sometimes there is a short wait. Its perfect for post hangover fry-ups! Its always hot and very reasonably priced. We visited again this past weekend for a Saturday morning fry up (no hangover fortunately). My friend had the veggie and I had the Bosuns Mate. My breakfast was two bacon, two eggs, sausage, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast (or fried bread) and coffee for just over £4.00. The staff are always friendly, they know the locals and everyone seems to be happy to be there. We love it, so don't visit it, otherwise we might not get a seat!

The food is very reasonably priced and the portions are huge. I've only ever eaten fry ups here but I'm sure there's more to the menu. They also cater for veggie's which is unusual for a greasy spoon, even in this day and age. Good coffee. Clean, welcoming décor and friendly, polite, down to earth staff. I was told about this place by my sister who stumbled across it with a friend of hers and I'm sure much of its popularity is down to word of mouth. It's a little gem of a place that I'm very happy to have discovered!

It's located in the station car park but has a limited amount of its own parking (usually taken up my motorcycles). It's very popular with commuters and in the evenings and weekends with local bikers (as in motorbikes - but don't be scared, they're a very friendly bunch!). It's also a good spot to eat before sampling the 'Watercress Line', otherwise known as the Mid-Hants Railway, which provides steam train rides to Alresford during the summer and at weekends.

This store is located just outside of the town centre, on a road with a couple of other sandwich shops. It has been there a while so they must be able to compete successfully with the others. As it is located in the vicinity of the University it is very popular with the students. The University gym is situated just around the corner and it is very tempting walking past the shop on your way home from a workout.
