While the single origin can come through a little ropey, almost burnt, the regular blend is great and sits well on the tongue. There is free, decent wifi, and the staff haven't seemed to mind when I asked if I could make a couple of big downloads over it. The only big criticism I can find is that the service is slow, slower than the number of staff they have on should be, this is likely a bottleneck on the coffee machine. They have an acoustic night on Thursdays too, I've neither attended nor played, but when walking past it's sounded quite decent (I guess these things are not really in their control so YMMV).

I had a sausage and onion baguette, my wife had coronation chicken baguette, we each had a side of chips (my pet hate chips were served in a pretentious little metal bucket but that's not a dig at the cafe everyone seems to have jumped on this bandwagon). Add a drink each and it came to just over £20, maybe everywhere in Lyndhurst charges these prices but to be honest I regularly eat better sausage rolls in greasy spoons at a fraction of the cost these sausages tasted like they had been cooked a few hours earlier, likewise the temperature suggested they hadn't just been prepared. However to be fair I should point out that my wife however really enjoyed her chicken baguette, the staff were friendly and attentive, our drinks were very nice, and although it was busy it was very comfortable.

It was a really nice little space, nice decor, though is quite small so wouldn't recommend coming in a large group. The loo was also nicely decorated and very clean. There is a good menu with plenty of choice , whether you want a light snack or more. We stopped off for a snack. I had the mango, yoghurt and raspberry smoothie with an iced bun. Mum went for a special offer of a hot cross bun and pot of tea for £3. It was really enjoyable and filled a little hole in our bellies. The sandwiches and salads looked nice so would definitely consider popping by for a spot of lunch next time I'm in Chichester.

Those that were still serving I am not overly enthused by them (I'm looking at you Cosy Cafe aka Poppins). The setting is cosy at the restaurant. The restaurant is rather small, but it still feels a little intimate when sitting in there with a dining companion. The menu isn't huge, which is good from my perspective - means they can take the time to make sure food they do produce is done well. The breakfast was a standard Full English. But the eggs were of a better quality than found in other cafes/restaurants in Eastleigh. Mushrooms cooked well, so was the bacon. Sausages were not the greatest - but then I have never been a fan of English sausages. A nice italian one would have been lovely, but c'est la vie. I would recommend the place for anyone looking for good quality cooking, very warm hospitality, and a cosy atmosphere. Could have been 5 stars, but that was down to the fact that getting the toilet on some rather steep & rickety stairs terrified me.
