Went here for breakfast after missing out on finding any in the local area (we decided on a late breakfast on a saturday). Those that were still serving I am not overly enthused by them (I'm looking at you Cosy Cafe aka Poppins).
The setting is cosy at the restaurant. The restaurant is rather small, but it still feels a little intimate when sitting in there with a dining companion. The menu isn't huge, which is good from my perspective - means they can take the time to make sure food they do produce is done well.
The breakfast was a standard Full English. But the eggs were of a better quality than found in other cafes/restaurants in Eastleigh. Mushrooms cooked well, so was the bacon. Sausages were not the greatest - but then I have never been a fan of English sausages. A nice italian one would have been lovely, but c'est la vie.
I would recommend the place for anyone looking for good quality cooking, very warm hospitality, and a cosy atmosphere.
Could have been 5 stars, but that was down to the fact that getting the toilet on some rather steep & rickety stairs terrified me. read more
