The craft shop stocks some cards, candels, they also have an upstairs to the craft shop selling jewellery, toys, picture frames and various gifts. The upstairs is only accessable by stairs thus not a great shop if you have a puschair or wheelchair. prices are quite expensive for some of the things.

Hmmm?! It was only when I was heading for a wee bite to eat I saw this lovely looking shop. It was like a ray of light hit me, and I knew as soon as I walked in I would be able to find "something special". The lady was absolutely lovely and a great help. I explained what it was for and she came up with a candle beautifully wrapped with a personalised tag with my friend's name and saying happy 50th. It was perfect! The shop was beautifully laid out with lots of varied gifts for all occasions you can think of. Upstairs I found out was a wee coffee shop, but it was shut the time I got there, it's only opened for a while from 9.30am - 4.30pm. The lady told me they have lots of homemade goodies and their coffee is sourced from Matthew Algie. I will definitely need to stop by for their coffee shop next time. My friend was absolutely delighted with her present, so much so, she asked me where I had got it as she wanted to get something similar for her friend's birthday. Result! I cannot wait to go back, guess who's gonna be trying out a mocha?!

They sell gifts as well for new baby's and wedding horse shoes etc. There is a step up and the shop is quite narrow inside so maybe not the most accessable but it is nice to go into a shop with different cards if your looking for something a bit special.

I spent almost 40 minutes in this tiny little store, which only opened its doors in June 2010. The owners ( a husband & wife team) were so warm, friendly and accommodating. There are no pushy, snooty sales people here. I found exactly what I was looking for...and a few other things too. The prices are incredibly reasonable for unique and often hand crafted items. I have been back on 3 occassions now and never feel pushed into buying (altho I always do!) Well worth a visit, if even just for a browse. Well Done Mum for taking us the wrong road! :))

When he came to my bit he had fortunately changed his mind and said 'Howsabout EK instead?' Yay, you betcha! I love the East Kilbride Shopping Centre or it's more the Centre West bit that I like best nowadays. It's actually split into several shopping malls, Prince's Mall and The Plaza were the first then they linked up The Plaza to the Olympia with the ice rink and cinema. I loved that part when I was younger. Then they covered up Prince's Square to become a mall then recently added on to The Plaza, Centre West. If you enter from the bus station it is a bit grim but keep heading through and it does get better. I normally park at Centre West but my friend likes parking at the Olympia. We still don't know how you can park in the underneath car park. Hmm?!! Anyhoo it was lovely to grace this entrance, it was completely mobbed, lovely to see the ice rink still as busy as ever. *Flashback* First time I was ever on an ice rink with my mum. Did witness someone fall and have their hand slashed though. I remember the paramedics and blood on the ice. Fortunately it didn't put me too much off ice skating. We mostly window shopped as we didn't see much we fancied in the sales. We decided to stop for a wee coffee at Costa in The Plaza. There's plenty of food courts and coffee shops about in all the malls. I love the food court in Centre West best. The one at the ice rink not so much nowadays, if you saw it you would understand why. It's great to come here especially when it's raining as everything's all under one roof and it's call Toys R er maybe not. Did most of my Christmas shopping here as there's a great variety of shops. There's still empty lets in the various malls but there's still plenty of shops to make you drop.

Today, it's a bit pathetic and every second lot seems to be lying empty. There's everything here you'd expect in a shopping centre; Topshop, a huge Debenhams, Waterstones and a selection of others. There's also a couple of cafés, a McDonald's and a decent sized food court. There's also a huge ice rink and upstairs there's an Odeon cinema and a library. It has a lot in it, it's just a bit depressing to walk through and see most of the lots lying empty.

Only 4 main items on the lunch board with one rubbed out - I went for sausage with onion gravy and mash - big mistake. Square sausage (assuming lefts overs from the breakfast menu), no onions visible in the gravy by sight or taste - mash mysteriously turned into frozen chips. Unfortunately my wife was fairing just as poorly with a bedraggled ham salad baguette. Both dishes , the lack of service and the total lack of attention to detail all added to an extremely poor experience but we are at least wiser now.

The shop is bigger and some things might appear cheaper, but I have generally found the actual range of items available and the knowledge of the staff somewhat lacking. It feels as though most of the place is taken up with conservatories and china and candles, is that what a garden centre should be? The last couple of times I've been in looking through the garden tools and thought: yes this is all very good for a bit of topiary, at the most, but where are the proper tools. I'll stick to going elsewhere in future.

This Birthdays store like most have a small Thorntons in it now. They have a decent range of cards…read moreand small gifts including items for: weddings, engagements, christening, new baby, retirement and even divorce! The selection of wrapping paper isn't that great unless you want paper for a specific occassion (18th etc). The Thorntons selection is good and they stock a good range of the diabetic items too, not just the bars of chocolate. They also have the loose chocolates at the counter and the staff will make these up in a box for you to your specification. They also have some samples on offer now and again when new chocolates or toffee is released. Occasionally and this is usually at the end of the month they mark down chocolates that are near their sell by date. Remember that chocolate has a sell by date not a use by date and this means they'll be fine after the sell by date. I got a large box of Thorntons Classics which are normally £10 for £1.50, they still had 2 weeks to go on their sell by date but my Mum didn't care.
