I recently found this place and also discovered they hold cooking classes once a month. Now it's not a hands on but led by the Chef. We observed his techniques, tasted the end results and did a Q&A. Quite interesting and I'll definitely try another class in the future! The Oil Tree offered a 10% discount and double punches on their frequent purchase cards. Also, I learned a valuable lesson: If you're looking to explore the health benefits of good fats, best keep outta the cheap seats. I popped in yesterday and bought just one thing: a mini size of olive oil infused with blood orange - total after tax about $4. I brought it home and made the best salad dressing ever in just a few smooth moves. I eyeballed just a few teaspoons, adding a splash of white wine, some balsamic, some salt and pepper. I'm not sure anyone on the Food Network has ever made a better salad dressing. I'm serious. I got seconds --- of salad! Further, there's nothing snobby or intense about this place. Friendly and inviting, not to mention visually gorgeous. I could spend a ton of time just perusing the oils, balsamic vinegars, jams, sauces, marinades, spice blends, pastas and more. Finally, I've definitely learned I'm never buying olive oil (or balsamic) at the grocery store again. I've probably been ingesting olive flavored castor oil this whole time. I love this store. Olive oil shots for everyone!!!!! Also, they have the best staff around. I took my mom and the hubby to Olive & Co. on a Saturday afternoon. This is the Willy Wonka of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, jams, sauces and dips. And you can sample everything... I think, or at lease almost everything. Each olive oil and vinegar has a cute dispenser that you can pour a taste from. We started with the dark balsamic vinegars... and may have blown out our palettes. So learn from us, try the olive oils first, then the white balsamic, then the dark. I digress. Here is the strange part... you are going to be drinking olive oil and vinegar from a very tiny shot glass. It's a bit strange... and they have some bread to aid in the tasting. Still drinking it strait is the best way to really taste the oils and vinegars. Once you get past this, you can really get into the process. Start the tasting by grabbing small plastic tasting cups and then get a small shot of whatever magical oil or vinegar you want. Cleans the palette with some bread and try another, and another, until you narrow down your favorites. I sampled the regular dark balsamic, cherry, coco, espresso, and fig. Of the light mom and the hubby liked the peach. They had a lemon and a few others, but I'm a fan of the dark, sticky balsamic. I purchased the cherry and the espresso. The espresso is wonderful on fresh strawberries and a dollop of fresh whipped cream. Amazing. Then we sampled the olive oils. The have white and black truffle oil, available for tasting by request as this stuff is a bit pricey, but well worth it. I like to use it on fresh cut French fries, or a dash on a steak. Heaven. They also have toasted sesame oil that is the essence of Asian cooking. One of the staff members blended the sesame oil with chili oil and a vinegar... sooooo good. We also sampled a buttered chicken sauce on these cute eco-friendly paper spoons. The sauce is amazing and very close to a local Indian restaurant's dish. I tried it this weekend and simmered 2 large chicken breasts, 1/2 an onion, 1 zucchini, diced sweet potato, salt/pepper... served on a bed of quinoa. Good stuff. Then we tried the pumpkin seed salsa. I can't explain it... but I'll give it a shot. Toasted and ground pumpkin seed flavor and texture, with a perfect creamy acidic balance. The lemon curd was divine and when pared with these little pastry cups, would make you look like a Martha Stewart, minus the jail time. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The associates who helped me were so friendly and informative on each oil/vinegar that I tried, or had questions about. Wow, this place is amazing! I have no idea how I haven't heard of it before. I stopped in because Sage Eden Pottery posted that she made some olive oil decanters and I wanted to get one. By the time I stopped by a few days later, they were almost gone (yay for her!) but I browsed anyway. I'm not sure if it was the owner, but you could just tell this guy loves what he does and loves this store. I told them I came for the decanter, but I was shown around the store, offered tons of delicious samples and given info on several different products. It didn't feel in a pushy way at all, just sharing tips and tricks and awesome stuff. They also have a lot more than oils and vinegars! Before you stop at Williams Sonoma, or order from Sur La Table, check out The Oil Tree for sure! They had a very curated selection of cookbooks (one I'll be back for!), Jacobsen Salt, artisan hot sauce and honey. There's salt cellars and various decanters. I think I saw honey. Homesick candles. I was the little girl who would go round and round at Sam's Club trying all the samples while my mom did her shopping. Who am I kidding I still do that. I could practically make a meal out of trying all the samples at Whole Foods. So speaking of samples I love trying all the different balsamic vinegars and olive oils at Oilve & Co. About 8 years ago I received a tiny bottle of garlic infused olive oil from here as a gift, and it was so good I ordered a large bottle online because I didn't have time to swing by the store. Imagine my surprise when the owner dropped off my order at my house! She drove right past me on her way home, she said, and hated for me to pay for shipping when she was so close by. She made a customer for life that day, and I swear I've tried almost everything the store carries since then! I can't say enough good things about this little shop. It's lovely and charming, the products are perfect for gift giving, and the staff is the BEST. It's gourmet without being snobby, and they're always happy to give you a taste or cooking suggestion. If you're hesitant, go for something pedestrian but DELICIOUS like garlic, butter, lemon or basil. Drizzle your veggies with the Tuscan Herb blend. Try the baklouti green chili for a little kick (try using it to sauté a chicken breast)! Or the grapefruit balsamic for the best salad dressing ever. I highly recommend buying the tiny bottles so you can inexpensively experiment with oils and vinegars until you decide what you like best and will use most. You won't mind paying a little more, I promise! I'm moving away from OK next year and this is by far the store I will miss most!!! read more

They have delicious local fresh bread for you to dip into their (amazingly varied) selection of oils and vinegars. I swear you need to not go into this place hungry because you'll eat your weight in bread. heh The employees know their stuff, so just go in and tell them some of what you like to eat and they will happily start concocting fantastic flavor combos for you to try out. Probably you'll end up wanting far more than you can afford or house. My one and only complaint is their hours make it difficult for me to swing by and stock up. I don't even know anymore. Sigh... If you're a fan of finer foods/products: extra virgin olive oils, infused extra virgin olive oils, balsamic vinegars, jellies/jams/preserves, sauces, salsas, olives, pickled vegetables, pastas, spices, specialty skin care products... well then you should probably just avoid Olive & Co altogether, because you'll never want to leave once you see all that they have to offer. It's an amazing little shop and I certainly wouldn't mind trying out every single item that they sell, although it might take me awhile. Everyone is very helpful and if you have the culinary inspiration / desire, they have the products and the know-how to take some of your recipes to the next level. Just ask for some help if you need some recommendations for good flavor combinations, they are more than willing to assist. As I mentioned earlier, you can taste all of the olive oils and vinegars before you purchase them, which is really helpful if you've got a specific taste in mind. The olive oils have the level of intensity listed which is also helpful, ranging from mild to robust, depending on your specific needs / personal preferences. Some might argue that the items offered here are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for: these are high quality products. Holy wow. I've been wanting to go into this shop since it opened a couple weeks ago and today I went in looking for a Christmas gift. This place is just splendiferous. They have some gorgeous platters (the one I was admiring was over $400), cutting boards, etc. and then there are the olive oils. There are around 20 different flavors (maybe more!) and they let you sample them all with a little piece of bread. And this isn't like trying them out of a bottle. There are many different large metal cans that hold the olive oils. Some are regular olive oils with different robustness, some are truffle oils and others are flavored (basil, garlic, lemon, blood orange, herb, etc.). All the ones I tried were amazing. They also have vinegars. I saw some champagne vinegars, white wine vinegars and then all the balsamic vinegars which were flavors I could have never possibly imagined: jalapeño, pomegranate, dark chocolate, espresso, and the lavender balsamic which was maybe the most amazing thing I've ever tasted. If I remember correctly, they have mini, small, medium and large glass "O" and "V" bottles which they fill up with the olive oil or vinegar of your choice. They also have dipping herbs for dipping oil, salsas, mustards, spices, herbs, jams and SO MUCH MORE. This place is heaven for cooks and anyone that just likes food. And don't let me scare you off with the $400 platter comment; their oils and vinegars are actually pretty reasonable considering olive oil is already fairly pricey. I hope everyone goes to this place soon. It is really a special place. If I ever need to buy a gift for someone, I will probably be doing my gift purchasing here. read more

LOVE it!!!! The BF and I stopped by after visiting Blue 7 and were happily greeted by a staff of 6 smiling faces eager to meet and greet and pour us the perfect concoction of oil and vinegar. When you walk in you see two large long tables stocked with silver vats on stands. It reminded the BF of a wine bar in San Diego called Splash. The interior reminds me of an earthy wine bar- wooden everything and book shelves filled with bottles of oils, salsas and canisters of different dips or sauces. There is also a plate of bread sitting on each table. The bread is super moist and was out of this world. The next time I go in 'm going to have to ask where they buy it from! Each vat has a small dish underneath the spout to prevent excess dripping or the oil or vinegar you taste test. I tested the Black Truffle Oil which wasn't as overpowering as the one's you purchase at the local grocery store. I had to concentrate on the task at hand however---Honestly, we only came in to buy balsamic and were pleasantly surprised by the plethora of flavors. My favs were the Lavender infused version and the Fig infused balsamic! read more

I made prime rib and yorkshire pudding but wanted something else to go with the meal. I stopped by O&C and was very happy with my visit. First, as far as a combo goes, I got a 200 ml bottle of fig balsamic vinegar and a bottle of wild mushroom and sage olive oil. Mix both of them in equal parts to use as a bread dip. I got a loaf of a ciabatta made by Thunder Prairie. Be very liberal with the dipping and you will thoroughly enjoy it. This combo was a recommendation that the staff made and I was very happy. Enjoy a large selection of various olive oils and balsamic vinegars based on flavor and intensity. There are little plastic cups that you can use for tastings as well as pieces of bread that you can use. The staff was very nice and helpful by making various combos to taste. You can also find various seasonings and houseware. Also, there is a section of the store that has Lekue products. Great service, prices, and selection. Great looking store as well. You can come here to get stuff for any home cooking you do or get anything as gifts. A large bottle of black truffle oil sounds good, doesn't it? I played scientist today and the store was my laboratory! It was my second visit. I stopped by the previous day to browse and ended up getting end-of-school gifts for teachers here. Oh, the many concoctions that you could create with the balsamic & olive oil & the more exclusive truffle oil ....ranging from your regular everyday flavor to the more exotic combination that you wouldn't imagine meshing well together! You could sample the many varieties to find the perfect blend for bread dipping, salad dressing, or marinades for meat. If you are not adventurous or do not know where to start, the friendly staffs are more than happy to make suggestions, and the cycle continues until you are drunk on olive oil! :) Michaela was awesome! She patiently spent a good hour blending the different varieties for me to try , while providing useful information on the many uses of olive oil! They also provided complimentary gift wrapping. They also recently put in a fridge and rearranged the place, so it flows well and they're offering cheeses and fresh Della Terra (local!) pasta. Wow, what an amazing experience! I had heard of this place so wanted to check it out - I was pleasantly surprised to be immediately greeted by someone willing to show us around the whole store.
