I have seen staff inform consumers that masks and 6feet spacing is required. There are not only signage everywhere you turn but the staff are continually cleaning and making sure the rules are enforced. I am at the rink for hockey 3-5 times a week between practice games and open skate. Thank you Chiller Staff for all your hard work keeping the facilities running safely so our kiddos can still have their season. As for the Chiller Easton I would rank the ice arena in our top 15. There are two sheets of ice, actual dressing rooms, a small concession stand and room for viewing above and around the ice rink. There is even conference rooms to rent out for parties and such. And the biggest plus the Chiller is open year round! Need somewhere to cool off during the summer months this is the place!

If you're…read moreever at an event in NW, you can see the ice from the North side of the arena and will probably see St. Charles or Upper Arlington high schools practicing there in the Winter. The Blue Jackets also allow the public to come in on certain days and see their morning skate sessions, which is pretty cool. Since the place only has one rink, public skating is pretty limited, but they do offer after school skating on Fridays as well as late night adult skate on Saturday nights for anyone in the area looking to get on the ice. Occasionally they have drop-in hockey, mainly during the off season, but they do offer a pretty competitive drop-in hockey early Friday mornings (if you can wake up and get there by 6 am). The facility offers skate sharpening and all the basic provisions that the other Chillers have, but they don't have a pro shop here, so don't expect to purchase any equipment (minus hockey tape). It really is a great ice to skate on, especially since it's the only rink in Columbus that provides natural lighting, and when they offer up more public skates in the Summer, I highly suggest checking it out.

So, my son and I can attend a game for as little as $5! Your $5 buys you admission to a variable-quality college baseball team (OSU won the conference and a berth to the NCAA tournament in 2009...since then the program has been "building") in a very nice stadium. There isn't a bad seat in the house! Parking is plentiful and easy. I may be easily impressed. I went to quite a few college games at my college, an ACC school that at the time used old football turf for the infield (it still had the numbers on it!) with a grass outfield. You sat on old aluminum bleachers and there was no concessions...or even tickets! By comparison, Bill Davis is a very nice stadium. It is modern and comfortable. There are concessions on-site, but it is the standard OSU fare (assume the same food provider that runs the dining halls). However, on weekends the boosters frequently have a cookout and sell hamburgers and hot-dogs far superior to what the concession offers. And there are some nice extras for the kids. In particular, after weekend games small kids are permitted to run the bases (which they enjoy). And the game is staffed by ushers who are older gentlemen who are universally pleasant and helpful. My only complaint is something that can't really be controlled or corrected - the schedule and how it correlates with the weather. The team plays it's early season games away. The first home games are typically in late March, and the weather here can be quite dicey at that time for a summer game. So, games are frequently rained out, snowed out, or it's too cold to comfortably sit in the stands. And then in May, boom - the season is over because of the end of school. I wish it could go on a bit longer into June... IMO, OSU baseball is a relatively undiscovered gem for Columbus.

When I was a kid I watched roller derby on TV. It must have been a big thing, to be televised and…read morehave a special place to play with a banked oval arena, etc. It seemed to go away for a long time; the last few years it has been coming back, and now the Ohio Roller Girls have been around for ten years. I started hearing about them a couple of years ago, and finally went to my first game last night. It's in the Ohio Building on the fairgrounds, that weird round building in the center. Since this is flat track derby they basically taped out an oval on the floor. Seating was bleachers, a few folding chairs, and just sitting on the floor like you did in grade school. I definitely recommend coming early to grab a seat of some kind; 2-3 hours of sitting on concrete doesn't work for me anymore. It looked to be cash only; we got our tickets online, but had to pay for fairground parking and concessions so I blew through most of what I had. T-shirts, etc., were available and they did take cards for that. There's a flyer with brief rule explanations, and info on the players, teams, etc. It was hard to figure out what was going on at first, but watch a bit, read the flyer, and maybe search online for some guidelines. Once you have some idea what is going on it looks less like chaos. Basically, one skater tries to push past the other team and go all the way around the rink. The other players try to make a path for her, and block the other team. So. The game. Fan-freaking-tastic. Women skating around- and they can skate well- shoving and twisting and falling. They have pads, but jeez, you have to be sore after all that. We played a team from Toronto, and while both were good the Ohio Roller Girls were way better. Watching them pivot and slip by a wall of players while flying around on skates was impressive. One especially, The Smacktivist, seemed able to magically avoid or slip through any blocking. The announcer was good (though sound quality was iffy so I couldn't always tell what he was saying.) The fans were enthusiastic. The players were competitive. It was a blast to watch. I tried to talk Sweetie into trying out, but she passed. We had a great time.

We attended a double header for the first time as we've always wanted to see one. We were hoping…read morefor some action, yet the first game was pretty stale. The players would just stop and wait for the player to come back around... We rarely say the players make if 3/4 of the way around the track, which is where we were sitting. The second game was much more engaging! The players seemed to be more advanced and seemed to play the entire track. Overall, we may not go back unless there's is a reason to be there.

A nice park tucked away by the Westerville service buildings and Alum Creek. Big parking lot,…read moreportapotties, a drinking fountain. Small rope playground, BMX bike track, and skate bowl. And what I was there for: access to the Alum Creek Trail, to ride my bike. It's a beautiful section, mostly wooded and following the creek. A few sections could be repaved but mainly smooth. We're lucky to have great trails in Franklin County, and this connects you to the whole network. Many access points in parks, like this, plus from neighborhoods. I rode up and down from here and enjoyed it. Not too busy on a perfect weekday morning, but a few others were out riding/walking/running. Occasional benches, very occasional trash cans (along the trail.) Good maps and signage. I'm sure the park gets busy on weekends or whenever the skaters and BMXers come out.

We have been with the Goddard school for over 3.5 years with our first child and last year with our…read more2nd child. We love it there. We came from out of state and my husband did extensive research and interviews with the all the schools in the area. He picked Goddard because of the owner/director/assistant director caring attitude and the way they viewed child development. My child has learned so much and most people say she seems older than she is. I think her development accelerated because of the caring staff there and Goddard's curriculum. They both love their teachers and i hope so since they spend over 9-10 hours a day there!! More than they spend with us. They simply care about the kids. Nothing is more important than the first few years of your child's development. We highly recommend Goddard and their high standard and expectation.
