Haven't been there since 2010. but was ran over by a grove truck the same month i last had contact with the office. I'm sure the office is appreciative of pleasant reviews and maybe you visited the alien only clinic. after being poked and chopped at I can understand where there is a lack of communication. The building itself should be an archive of healing through understanding the Err factor. I hope they are able to remain open and Dr. Danzey never gets one day off to relax or eat his swiss cake snacks without interruption. i was diagnosed as being morbidly obese but that would explain pulling a Heather out of the Rabbit Hole and falling in love with your family life all over again without intruders or judgement. If I could give this practice zero stars I would. We were new to Avon Park and my husband and I…read moreused a doctor from this practice, Dr. Joshi Shailech, and we were fine but the following year we tried to see him and were told he no longer worked at this office. I did make an appointment with the Nurse Practitioner, Tesha Baker. We had 2 good meetings and she referred me to a good cardiologist and a physical therapist. My problem is when I needed a refill on a prescription she couldn't do it because it had to be signed by Dr. Geldart who never seemed to be in the office. I have never exceeded my dosage on any of my meds. But I kept getting put off on my Xanax which states to take 1 or 2 a day as needed but I very seldom exceeded 1/2 a day and my 1 month prescription would last about 3 months. They would say Dr. Geldart has to sign this and he's not in the office. After a week and I couldn't get my prescription I would call my doctor in Wisconsin and explain what was going on and he would refill it for me. This week was the 3rd time I tried to get a refill. The 2nd time again I had to wait for Dr. Geldart's signature and it took 5 days . . . 3 days past the day I was empty. This week I called on Monday cause I new I didn't need it till Friday. I was told Tesha didn't have to see me but it would take 48 to 72 hours for the prescription to go through. It's Thursday so I called again and I was told she had to see me 1st but her 1st opening isn't until next Thursday (the 19th). We're leaving for up north the 18th. I explained that but it didn't matter. I did tell her (this is the truth) I have a very bad cold with a temperature of 99.8 and asked if she would see me sooner and this receptionist said she would but she still wouldn't refil my prescription. I said fine but I did say I will be looking for another doctor's office. After this I called my doctor in Wisconsin and explained the situation and he called in my prescription. Sorry such a long story but my advice is DO NOT GO TO THE FAMILY PRACTICE CENTER ON PLEASANT ST IN AVON PARK, FLORIDA. AND DON'T ASK FOR DR GELDART because he can't be much of a doctor if he's never around and his NP can't reach him for things that are out of her control or she just doesn't want to bother with.

I am really on top of my health care, and I felt I was overwhelming her, as well as her staff. I felt like they didn't like all of my questions, and I would question them about why they don't respond to my messages in a timely manner, also the receptionist at the Frostproof location on two occasions, messed up my appointments, and I would arrive for my appointment, and she would tell me I should have gone to the Avon Park location. I never go to that location. It's an hour and 20 mins from where I live. So I ended up having to reschedule my appointment. Brittany then sent me a certified letter stating that she was no longer going to be seeing me. I have never heard of that. She gave me a few weeks to find a new Provider. I had to start all over with someone new. I would not recommend this place. They have no idea what they are doing. And if you actually have problems, she is not the right person to help.. I would suggest seeing an actual real Dr.. They honestly don't even deserve one star. I don't know how many times Dr Geldhart needed to sign off on my refills, and it would take days and a lot of my time to keep calling and calling. I would be completely out, and was told he wasn't in the office, and he had to sign off to refill it.. My drs have always tried to help me, and they care about me, and my health. What a horrible horrible experience.

    - I say he's the best Primary Physician in Highlands County and I'm sticking to it! -…read more As an older Yelper (age 72) I have the experience to know a great doc when I experience one. I've been with him for 11+ years and here is what it's like to visit this practice. Arriving- He is in private practice and owns his own very nice stand-alone building with private parking. It is just off US Route 27 North. Parking is a snap. Ambience- The interior is spotless with a comfortable waiting room. I don't spend much time there as his process is very efficient. His treatment rooms are also very comfortable. Network- He is part of the Advent Health System as are all of my specialist MDs. It's wonderful and extremely convenient that all of my Docs have access to all my records! Intake Process- When I show up, I usually see two or sometimes three folks that take care of the basics. They are friendly and efficient, do their thing and then pop me into a treatment room. So customer service is exemplary. I usually wait about five minutes before the boss shows up. Bedside Manner- If you are expecting a crisp white jacket and formal attitude, you are in the wrong place! He usually wears shorts and for me he hits just the right balance between casual and getting the job done! Super easy to talk to. If I get a blood test, he calls me within a week after the results are in. Faster if it's something serious. Language Barrier- Folks sometimes ask me if he has a difficult accent and the answer is absolutely not! Anyone who has ever met him will say the same. A quick visit to the front desk to pick up any follow up paperwork and I'm out of there! Conclusion- So I experience an excellent environment with solid caring and friendly staff. My records are organized across my Docs. Dr. Sharma's bedside manner suits me, and I trust him! It's a solid five stars from me!

It surprised me that a healing centre was so closely located next to the american cemetery, but I wasn't really bother by it. I was bothered by the fact that it is located on random floor in an office building, made me feel like I was at work. The toilets are not airconditioned so if you have to make a number two you'll have to sweat it out. You might also need to sweat it out, because toilet paper is not always available here. The staff is very friendly and attentive. You feel like they really listen to your needs and do their best to quickly fulfill your demands, be it getting extra toilet paper.

I confess it was a little bit hard to find the venue at the first time. The taxi driver actually got lost. But all the stress was worth it, because the place is just amazing. It's a mix of a café, a spa and a center for courses and consultations. A quick view and we can conclude their have a holistic approach to health and wellness activities. The ambience is very relaxing and the courses they offer are really interesting and rare to find. By the way, the seminar facilitated by the doula Irina Otmakhova was fantastic. During the break I explored the lovely Chakra Café. They serve soups, pasta, salads and wraps - everything is prepared with organic fresh ingredients. Try the Vanilla Chai Latte, which is very flavorful. While I was taking the seminar with hubby, my mother pampered herself at the "Transcend Spa & Nails". She had one of their signature massages - a mix of swedish and shiatsu - and she loved it! I really intend to come back there in order to try the detox lymphatic drainage and the Ayurvedic massage. I highly recommend The Third Eye Wellness. Take a look at their course schedule so you can get the most of it.

-- Yelp Old Fart Review! -…read more Yup, I'm 72 and us older folks often need lots of tests. I have been using this hospital for about 12 years. I've reviewed them before, but this is an update focusing on their testing services! But wait you say, "I've been using one of those two big testing chains that seem to be everywhere." One of those is much closer to me, but I still go here for testing and here's why- 1. Easy Parking- Park in the big front entrance lot. If you are mobility impaired or just not feeling well, a volunteer in a golf cart will pick you up at your car and run you to the front door. 2. Wonderful Hours- 6AM-5PM M-F. 3. No Appointment Needed- I usually wait less than 10 minutes. Note that if you desire, the app will let you make an appointment. Pro Tip- A lot of folks have an order for a "fasting" blood test. So, they fast overnight and show up first thing in the morning. The morning rush ends around 10AM. 4. Solid App- Generally you get your results the same time your Dr. does. 5. Crazy Fast Results. Most folks get some type of blood test or urinalysis, and I've done both many times. My drive home is 7 miles and usually, while I'm driving, my app notifies me the results are available! That's incredible! As you can tell, I'm a huge fan of testing here. When you're going for these tests, you're already under some stress because something might be wrong. The last thing you need is more stress and I don't experience that here! 5 stars!
