On my last day in Sydney, I woke up early and high tailed it to the store. I got there when they just opened and decided to purchase items that would not melt easily, as I had to ship them to Hawaii. The sales person behind the counter was very help in my directing me to the items that would keep during air shipment. After choosing the goodies for my family, I decided to purchase the date and marzipan chocolate bar for my honey and myself. My only disappointment was that it was too early for ice cream. Yes, even for me. If not, I would have had an ice cream sandwich. Sigh... :(

Not fair. But, with the limited budget I have, I still go to Kakawa, who not only stocks amazing little mouthfuls of chocolates in a hundred flavours, at $1.90 each, but also stock chocolate and fruit jams, chocolate CD's (I assume they are called so only due to their shape), chocolate everything! And the difference with this one is you can watch them make it behind the counter. If you don't catch them at it one day, then you'll just have to come in the next and try again. So if you're a chocolate man or woman, come and see what's happening here. So amazing.

Giant chocolate violins and seashells on the walls and on the shelves, thousands of tiny mouthfuls of chocolate in so many forms and flavours, this place is as sinfully indulgent on the tongue as it is on the wallet; with chocolate going for $103 a kilogram. If you're a foodie with a sweet tooth, you'd better be well-paid or wealthy or something, because you won't be able to hold yourself back. If you have good self control, even just taking a look around it worth the visit. Staff are polite and helpful, and can advise you on 3 generations worth of Belgian chocolate knowledge.
