Café Politico opened a few months after Twenty Eight Espresso did, right on the very same main road. Two small cafés on a street with plenty of other businesses doesn't seem too unusual, right? Well, in downtown Northbridge where the quest for decent espresso coffee is rarely a successful endeavour, this spelled trouble for TEE who was sitting pretty with a slew of regular, satisfied customers now tempted by the new kid on the block. Politico has a few added bonuses: it's pretty spacious inside, with comfy lounge and communal seating as well as a few tables strewn outside. It's covered in collage-style artwork that adds a bit of atmosphere and they offer a range of homemade looking, if a little pricey, baked goods. The coffee here is much stronger and richer than your typical Sydney brew, judging by the handful of times that I've visited. read more
