Gather 'round...learn from my stupidity on this one.
Back in December I was shopping for a Thermoball jacket (Google is your friend) and ended up over at Bass Pro Shops. I found what I wanted and 300.00 later, I was headed out the door.
Fast forward a few months and I was browsing around one of our outlet malls on the other side of town. Imagine the sinking feeling in my gut when I looked up and saw the giant North Face sign.
I had completely forgotten this place was even here!? There are so many shops in Myrtle, I can't possibly remember them all, right? At least that's what I was mumbling to make myself feel better...
Anyway, I go inside and head straight for the coats. I'm already preparing myself for the big hurt. Yep, there's my jacket and it's 200.00 less!! No exaggeration...talk about crazy, retroactive buyers remorse.
So, in some bizarre attempt to ease the pain I went ahead and bought that jacket, too. I mean I had to, right? At least it was a different color...
Now, I'm not sure how familiar you are with outlet stores, but some are awesome and others just stock crap, irregular sizes and clothes that are basically made for mutants.
However, THIS store, my friend truly stocks what you're looking for. They have an amazing selection and the only difference is, there is no lifetime guarantee on the merch once you buy it here. The reason is perfectly understandable...
North Face had a lifetime guarantee on their clothing. Once an item is returned to a major chain like Bass Pro, Amazon, etc it can't be resold. These items find themselves at their outlet stores. In the majority of cases, items are returned because someone didn't like the fit. In other cases, the items are simply last season's closeouts.
Regardless, the selection is awesome and the prices are incredible.
If you like this brand, it's worth the trip!
Oh, and for what it's worth. If you're looking for a great light-weight jacket that keeps you insanely warm, check out the aforementioned Thermoball series.
There's some kinda crazy alien technology at work here... down right freaky how thin and light this jacket is and yet so warm!!

See that little icon under my name to the left that says, "Follow this person on yelp?"...click that! We'll be buds! Seriously, do it. I'm shallow and need that sort of validation in my life. read more
