The staff is the most amazing asset. They truly care about the homeless animals of our community. From intake to enrichment, from the Pawsitive Pantry (helping families keep their pets), the Reading to kitties program, Summer Camp, all their events to bring awareness (The Blue Jean Ball, the Golf Tournament, Whiskers in Wonderland, outdoor events), education provided (bottle-feeding kittens class), and help these fur babies get to be adopted and have a second chance--the work that goes into every animal (medical, social, TLC) is truly remarkable. Did I mention their foster and volunteering programs? I couldn't be prouder to be affiliated with HSSLC, and happy to lend my time, money, and skills to help fulfill such an important mission. We have always had a good experience here with our 3 dogs and cat. Two of our dogs only were seen…read morefor a year old less before passing of old age. The staff was so kind and supportive and when we put one to sleep they even lit a candle and made the room as cozy as possible and made a paw print for us. I have been avoiding being the person in the room during those moments until then and it was as supportive as any clinic could've been and now I wish I had been brave enough before. Our cat has had surgeries and they've all gone great too. The front desk staff has even helped bring things and pets to and from the car when I had my kids with me and needed an extra hand.

I brought him back again and they basically said they can't do it & I have to bring him to an actual surgeon to get it done right. But they charged me every time for their garbage work. I took him to Dr Hansen and he got it done 1st try which is pathetic for Martin downs considering after 3 failed surgeries with all that tearing of the tissue, Dr Hansen got it 1st try. DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE FOR SURGERY UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR BANK ACCOUNT DRAINED AND YOUR ANIMAL KILLED. 100% would never bring another animal here and I hope they get shut down soon. EDIT: To your response: That's false there was no biopsy done or anything to determine that it was a tumor. He went into surgery with us not knowing if it was an infection or a tumor. I understand that the tumor was very large and I can understand getting sent to another surgeon but the fact that you guys kept trying 3 more times with no results and continued to charge me everytime is absurd. So after over $2000 he was leaking feces into his body and would've gone septic and died and at that point my only choice is to go to the other surgeon which was another $1500 to just walk in. Don't try to make excuses. You guys messed up bad and did nothing to try and make it right. Absolutely heartless. But at least you got your money right.

Receptionist Cristina has an awful attitude, she's not efficient and creates unnecessary situations. She's at the wrong job. I went to this place twice. Should had never given them a second chance. My first experience there wasn't too good either. They're more expensive than others and have no empathy with dog or owner. Having to deal with an unprofessional Manager, Lisa, was the cherry on top. She yelled at me even after I asked her to lower her voice twice. I was transferred to her by Cristina without even asking to speak to her. I was just calling for an update on the status of my dog as to when he was going to be released. This was my 3rd call trying to find out that simple information. Lisa just had to ask me how she could help me. Instead she went by what Cristina said to her and started yelling at me without even hearing my side...BIG MISTAKE for someone called a Manager. The technician who was to call me with updates happens to be Lisa's son. Quite unethical of her to yell at me for calling for an update her son had not given me as he had stated he was going to do 8hrs prior when I left my dog with him. This lady badly needs a Customer Service 101 refresher course. I was a paying customer and deserved to be treated with RESPECT. A good Manager APOLOGIZES for the delay and tries to solve the issue right way. She escalated a simple phone call unnecessarily. A good Manager would make sure all the patients are well taken care of. Can't emphasize RESPECT enough.

She really gets to know you and helps with the selection of the perfect pup for you and your families needs. Marc with Bark Busters and his program was amazing with our dog Niko!! Niko has always been a sweet…read moredog but has had numerous behavior problems with recognizing us as the leaders of the house. Especially when it came to disciplining him when he was bad and he would just growl at us and snap his teeth in defiance. After a few hours with Marc, Niko instantly improved on being walked with a leash and not walking ahead, also being called to sit next to me and not move. These exercises and more condition the dog to recognize our alpha position over him. What's more, last night he jumped on the couch after he had a bath and laid on there (full knowing that was bad) and I got on his case and disciplined him like I usually do. But this time....NO growing back or snapping his teeth! We didn't even train that part with him but he KNEW where his place was and he just sat there and listened. My wife and I couldn't believe it! Marc and his program has worked beyond our expectations and know he will be able to further train him in other areas using this system. And we know we can rely on Marc coming over to help us again if we ever need the help. Very much worth the money! Thank you again!!

Our dogs, Linus and Mack, were struggling with leash pulling and reactivity, and walks were becoming a daily challenge. Orlando was calm, professional, and incredibly effective. We would check the cameras daily numerous times and never once saw people spending time in the common areas with our dogs. On Christmas day the dogs had been left in cages for over 17hrs before someone came in to let them out. Unacceptable. I hate to leave this review but I think it's needed to let these owners know this is not what people expect when spending hundreds of dollars to have their pet looked after. Dogs need attention. Not to mention the lack of personality at the counter. They dont even say hello. It's like its run by a bunch of kids who no one knows what is going on.
