We took a drive to visit The Nine Thai restaurant since we were intrigued by their Magical Dining menu. It appeared this was the first time they have participated in Magical Dining which became more evident as the night went on. We were greeted promptly and taken to a table that had balance issues. We were going to ask to move tables as it wasn't that busy yet but then a server came and added some napkins underneath to steady the table. The interior was interesting, half bar with two TVs playing sports and then half dining room. When the server came again, we ordered our 3-course meals and my mom and I each got a Thai Iced Tea. The Teas came and they were fine, maybe less sweet than I usually like. Then, it was over 45 minutes until we got our appetizers. I could see the servers running around but either their cook staff was understaffed or the restaurant was not expecting the big turnout for Magical Dining as this point all the tables in the restaurant were full. The appetizers were good, although all 3 came out at different times. The Cigar Rolls are like chicken egg rolls served with cucumber with the insides more like a samosa. The Coconut Shrimp had lots of coconut taste and was served with plum sauce. It was another while for our entrees to come out. My parents like the What The Duck although thought it was a bit more spicy than they like. I got the Fried Chicken with Peanut Sauce since the original choice I had made on the Magical Dining site (shrimp and pineapple fried rice) wasn't in the special menu at the restaurant. The portion was huge with 2 flattened chicken breasts along with broccoli, rice and peanut sauce. It was fine when dipped the sauce although a little dry without the sauce. Another wait and then finally our desserts arrived - Mango Sticky Rice for me and my dad and Fried Crepe with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce for my mom. My mom loved hers and finished the whole thing but I found it a bit plain. The Mango Sticky Rice was great although I wished there was more coconut milk in the bottom of the plate to sop up the rice and mango. I can't blame the servers for the food delays since they were all great. I think the restaurant was just overwhelmed. One more nit pick, there didn't seem to be particular plates to serve each dish in. We saw the table next to use get the Cigar Rolls in a cute basket while ours were served on a flat black plate. This restaurant has good food but probably not worth making a long drive for like we did. read more

Came to The Nine for Magical Dining this year, because their menu was really creative. Not only did they not play it safe, they didn't even play it safe for a Thai place. Crispy duck curry and lychee snapper?? How wonderful. This menu easily made it into my top six this year. I didn't get a sense of the ambiance, because I got the whole meal takeout. I kind of didn't get a sense of the service, but I will warn all y'all to always scrutinize your bags before you leave the restaurant. They forgot one of my apps. I would have been so mad. Good catch, me. The food was incredible. Perfectly cooked coconut shrimps, crispy egg rolls with a ton of nice filling. The crispy duck was very tender and packed with well-cooked veggies, and the snapper was awesome. Just a touch of sweetness from that lychee. Very good with the white rice. Overall, a little good, a little bad, but it scored all the points needed in the part that matters, the food. My friend and I came here for magical dinning and I was excited to check out this restaurant because it had been on my radar for quite some time. I started with the shrimp breaded coconut butterfly with sweet and sour plum sauce. It was fantastic; the shrimp was deep fried and you could taste the shredded coconut. The tanginess from the sauce added a lot of flavor to this dish. My main course was the Bangkok Beef Cashew.. let me tell you something.... This was absolutely lovely. The presentation of the dish itself was everything. The beef mixed with vegetables and cashew on a bed of crispy taro 10/10. I highly recommend this if you love nuts. For dessert I got the fried cheesecake and it was very good. Overall, my experience was amazing. The waiter was great and the owner even stopped by our table to check on us. My son had the strawberry Lemonade the ingredients tastes fresh and they had fresh strawberry and blueberries with a decorative touch. The restaurant inside offered plenty of seating. A Posh looking ambiance with a color scheme that just fits. They offer a full bar with happy hour specials that are worth a try. Plenty of parking spaces in the shared lot. Dinging them down after having a second not so good experience here. That's 2 out of 3. Another annoying long wait. So long, in fact, others walked out. And they weren't all that busy. Two waitresses with a handful of tables split between the two of them. So there's that ...and something about the food wasn't right. Was off enough to stop eating an $80 checks worth of food and rush home. That was two of us by the way. Not good if you know what I mean. It's a real shame too because I thought they were very promising the first time we dined here and gave them a few chances. Hard no. Previous review, in all fairness: Something like a four or more though they really dropped the ball on take-away the next day. Was staying nearby and wanted to add a few things to enjoy with our leftovers but that didn't happen. Order was running late and was told it'd be much longer after already waiting awhile so I nixed it. Refunding was easy. Life happens. Otherwise, was enjoyable enough when dining in. Splendid attentive hospitality. Very friendly. Cigar rolls were very nice; memorable even. Crispy pork upcharge to the pinapple curry was tough and I would have been happier without it. The chicken was better in the Panang curry. They also switched up our heat preferences leaving one if us wanting and the other struggling through the meal but I thought that was funny. Big portions, The spice level we chose 3 and It was good enough for someone that likes spice, too hot for those who don't like it and not spicy enough for spicy lovers, my husband order spice on the side bc it was not spicy enough. Service was ok.. we got to the restaurant and we were seated immediately however, we waited for someone to take our drink order for 20 mins... they did made up for it later and the service was great after that. The restaurant was a modern, clean atmosphere. Service was very slow and it was confusing to know who was actually our server because we had a different person come to our table every time. Parties of 5 or more have auto gratuity of 18%, so if you are a family of 5 just be aware. The hibachi chicken teriyaki was good, but to me it needed a bit more sauce. There was not a lot of teriyaki on it so I ended up asking for more soy sauce to make it more flavorful. My friend got the red snapper, and said it was delicious as well. This area has quite a few dining selections and I'd been meaning to try The Nine for weeks. It was my Friday lunch selection and in no time I was seated and had my L9 order in the Red Curry w/ Chicken. I choose the mushroom Tom Yum soup and it came with a spring roll as well. That soup definitely had a kick to it and I'm an absolute sucker for mushrooms. The spring roll was a bit more doughy than I prefer, but still good. The curry chicken was very good, featuring enough veg and rice to make me full and happy. Came here for dinner on a late Friday night and we ordered chicken coconut soup for starters. Not bad, pretty good! We then ordered Panang curry afterwards, but took our food home because we were so full. The service was amazing I would give service a big 5 out of 5. Our waitress was amazing and the dine in place was amazing also, a big 5 out of 5! Great spot to have dinner with a couple or a large group of people. I did however give a 3.5 out of 5 for Thai food. I'm used to eating authentic Thai and this spot was not. A great casual spot, but the Panang curry did not taste like Panang curry. It seemed like they ran short of the Panang curry sauce and then added some type of last minute store bought powdered curry and added it to the dish. This is really a hidden gem. I pass by all the time and never noticed it even after going to both venues next door. I was surprised at how modern and nice it looks on the inside. This was my first time eating Thai food and I have to say I must go back. The dessert was amazing and sweet, my mocktail tasted exactly right and presentation was on point. Staying close by for work and wanted something quick I could walk to and take back to the room. There are several options in the area but The Nine stuck out to me. For a mid week date night we decided to try somewhere new and landed on this gem. I think they do quite a bit of traveler dinners, as they are located close to the Marriott in Heathrow. We arrived and were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming staff. They had several tables seated, but we were constantly helped by several staff members; a true testament to it takes all to serve! The food was quite good.. We ordered pork dumplings and Tom Kha soup for apps- both weee definitely worth ordering again. Yum I decided to order pad Thai, which was great, save the chicken being slightly overcooked and dry on top, but then the next pieces were better, so all was good. My hubby ordered beef with cashew nuts that came in a fried noodle bowl- great looking dish and he really enjoyed it. Our neighboring table had a chefs special with seafood and it also looked delish! Stopping in for dinner since we were staying at a hotel close by. Nice ambiance. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and shown to a table in less than 3 minutes. There were 2 servers working together which was a great way to ensure all of the guests were take care of. Both of them were great. They had happy hour until 6pm, so we tried a couple of drinks. My husband had the mango martini. It was good, but a bit sweet for my taste. They use mango nectar so it was a bit thick. For $7, he didn't mind. I had the coconut sake which was good. Have a lot of different seating areas available and I can see families and friends gathering and hanging out here! Also has a bar and sitting area! The server took us to the sitting area & gave us the menu! There is very good deal of the lunch menu! I ordered pad Thai with salad, came with spring roll and soda drink ( I got lemonade)! My friend got mushroom soup and red curry with rice and also has spring roll and drink! We also ordered the mango sticky rice as dessert! Everything tasted good! Mushroom soup is spicy but very good! Red curry chicken is spicy also! Chicken Pad Thai just right with the sour and sweetness. spring roll is crispy and yummy! Mango sticky rice is perfect way to end the meal! We decided to check out this place last night. It's a new Thai place in heathrow and there are not many around their area so we were excited for it. Got there around 7 or so and the place was fairly busy which was a good sign. When we walked in one of the servers came up and was like we can not seat you, I'm the only server for the entire place and and don't know when a table will be available. So we walked out and went somewhere else. You just lost a new customer. Why was there not a manager there to greet and make things right or offer something to make things right. Excellent lunch here today! The Panang curry is very good. We had it with duck (2 star) and another order with chicken. Like the way the curry is served. Got a 4 star on chicken but needed more spice personally so server brought out mix of spice made by chef -- perfect! We also had Thai tea and pork dumplings, both delicious. Sorry for lone pic of dumplings but we ate before I remembered pic. Order comes with 4 dumplings. We finished with mango sticky rice and loved that as well. Look forward to returning to try other dishes! Chef came to table to visit with us and told her of my love for a Seattle restaurant, Bai Tong, and the crispy garlic chicken. The decor of this place is very Retro and the bar is very elegant! I was seated immediately and the waiter arrived or seemed to be waiting for me! -so I ordered a glass of wine which was delivered immediately -wow! Everything on the menu is prepared fresh. My table was within eye-shot of the kitchen so I was able to peak in when the door swung and saw everyone scurrying chopping, grilling, cooking..quite the operation. I wanted to like this restaurant , but I won't be returning. There was only one waiter for dinner and he was almost literally running from table to table. He was very curt and had no personality. He refused to switch out rice for noodles. They were out of one selection of beer. The food didn't really have any depth of flavor and was fairly expensive. I do not often leave bad reviews, but this is not the place you should go for authentic Thai food when there's so many better options in Lake Mary such as Dali Laos or Orchid. The portions are small for the price, and there was absolutely no spice added to either the pad thai or fried rice. We always ask for Thai hot, and it was bland with no spices at all. I will say the owner was very friendly when he stopped by our table ...but they've got some recipe issues to work out at this establishment for sure. Been here a few weeks ago. Stopped in after my granddaughters soccer game. Finally doing the review. They have been open a few weeks. Decor inside is nice and staff friendly. They was busy but didn't really wait long. We got apps like chicken satay normally comes on a stick but they didn't. Tasted good along with the cucumber. We also got egg rolls chicken wings with sticky rice. Both was good was well. Entrees are 2 red chicken curry, green curry, pad Thai and kids chicken and waffles. My I ordered my green hot and my son and d.i.l both got mild. Mine came out mild and theirs hot. So my son and I switched dishes and the offered to make her a new one but she said nah and they took it off the bill and gave us another drink. Manager was great with it all. We had a lot of food so that's why she said don't bother. Curry's had great flavor and red one very nice heat. Pad Thai was good, only took a bite. The kids loved the chicken and waffles.
