This is a fantastic driving school that I would recommend to anyone. Howard was an excellent…read moredriving instructor who helped me every step of the way in earning my driver's license. On top of giving me the best advice that he could to get out on the road and practice, he was incredibly patient, supportive, and knowledgeable. He is the reason why I have become a better driver. I would recommend Knepler Driving Schools to anyone who needs the support and skills that they need to ace their driving test, earn their license, and become the best driver that they can be. This is easily the best driving school in Fairfield County, and it's not even close!

Good evening, Trumbull community…read more Please read, I would like to share some alarming news with parents ... Parents of daughters, beware. If you have a young daughter, I recommend not allowing her to take any lessons here. My daughter, who attends Trumbull High School, is currently taking driving classes with Knepler Driving School. Her instructor's name is Howard Knepler. He appeared overly excited to meet my daughter. I wasn't comfortable the first day, but assumed I was being overprotective. After her second lesson, my daughter told me Howard spoke to her about massaging his niece and how she removed her top, causing him to feel uncomfortable. He then commented on her size, mentioning how he doesn't like skinny girls, and made comments about girls sitting on his lap and preferring girls "with meat." I was extremely shocked and immediately thrown for a loop. We called the driving school and asked that this be addressed. They said he would no longer be her instructor, and he would be replaced with a female instructor, in addition they also gave us a free class. My daughter was in class today talking about what happened to her, and her classmate mentioned having a very similar experience with the same instructor. My daughter's classmate said their conversation was also inappropriate. In addition, my daughter's classmate also shared that her friend had classes with Howard, and he placed his hand on the young woman's thigh. As a concerned parent, this news is extremely horrifying. This man is a predator, and who knows how long this has been going on? As a concerned mother of three, I feel as though I would be doing my community a disservice by not informing you all. We need to protect our children.

5 years ago my oldest son and I choose Epic and had a wonderful experience. 2 years ago my middle…read moreson used them and Epic was not nearly as good (specifically the Bethel office). He had 1 lesson there and the instructor spent the entire drive on his cell phone. Told my son he did everything right. He tested there the next week and failed because no one at Epic had pointed out to him that the road the school is on is a 15 MPH zone. He went 25 and it was his only mistake. This year my youngest son was up and thinking 2 years ago was a fluke I signed him up. Big mistake. Of the 4 required online classes 2 were fine and 2 were horrible. The horrible ones were both by the same instructor. I didn't understand my sons complaint until I sat with him for the parent class. She was awful. Dragged the class out longer than necessary with her constant interruptions and personal stories. After every class each student is required to take a test which was submitted by hitting a button to "schedule an appointment" which was very confusing. After the last class he took ( the parent class) their server or something had crashed and you couldn't submit the test. The instructor was told but there was no assurance that we would get credit for the class even if the 1 hour window for submitting the test had passed. Their website/scheduling/emails were poor at best. Confusing pages with the wrong wording in the buttons you're supposed to click. The lessons he took at the Brookfield office were the only thing that went smooth and easy. The gentleman there was wonderful and taught my son well - especially parking. Sadly, Bethel seems to have the most testing dates/times (or more people are starting to avoid them) and that's where he took his first test. He was the 4th kid to test that morning and the 4th kid to fail. The DMV inspector started by rudely yelling at my son to get in the car and followed it up by spending his time complaining to my son about all the mistakes the previous kids had made. A miserable experience for an already nervous kid who then made several errors because of his nervousness and failed. Every failure puts an extra $165.00 in Epic's pocket (and most of me believes the inspectors pocket as well) He tested again yesterday with a different inspector and passed without a problem. Even that came with it's own confusion because of their website/emailing. They send you an email for a "new appointment" and buried at the bottom is a link you need to apply for your license at the DMV. Like they can't have a separate email with the link? How hard is that???? Personally, I'm just glad I'm out of kids :)
