They both called and texted to let me know it had arrived. The service is extremely helpful. Nestled among some charming boutiques, restaurants, and specialty shops, Bronx River Books offers a good range of classic, contemporary, and local authors. It is well-stocked besides neatly organized and stacked. It has easily become one of my favorites stops when in town.

It's like stepping into a different universe where the best masterpieces written or translated to English are waiting for you to be discovered. I always encounter all my favorite authors and know I'm in good company and can trust to find the next amazing read. The last one was a treasured discovery for my daughter a book on art thats whimsical but also very well researched n put together. I discovered many new and exciting authors there like Yaa Gyasi "Homegoing" and Imbolo Mbue "Behold the Dreamers" and Ngugi Wa Thiong'o "Wizard of the Crow". As well as my all time favorites Gary Shteyngart, Zadie Smith, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Viet Thahn Nguyen. Hope this place stays around so we have to remain patrons to help them!!!

They line their back issues up on a shelf like a regular book shelf and some of them are slanted over. That being said, they arent always in pristine condition and are sometimes dirty. They usually make up for it by having some sort of sale on back issues or something. They dont really order too many of a specific issue either. Really nice staff. Cool owner. They always have geeky music on too.

Has a very calming, quaint, new agey vibe about it with a bean bag chair to stay a while and read. I was looking for a quick and easy snack like a bagel so I ended up getting a whole wheat bagel (which I took home and toasted/buttered), chocolate chip cookies Nesquik, Nerds Rope, Nerds gummy clusters, and I was intrigued so I got the Shaq gummies too. As for what I got (which doesn't really reflect the place itself but just for fun): Whole wheat bagel: pretty solid bagel! Big and fluffy with the home closed up which I love. Chocolate Chip Cookie Nesquik: Not as good as I thought it'd be, tasted a bit like coffee and I don't like coffee lol Shaq-a-licious Gummies: Not great unfortunately. The gummy was a little bit harder and stickier than a normal gummy and the flavors were very artificial. Nerds Rope and Nerds Gummy Clusters: the perfect candy in my opinion, chewy sweet and tangy and a little crunch on the outside. Cake Bites: I love the rainbow cookie and birthday cake ones of these so I was excited to see the rainbow ones. Very good!
