Stayed in a nearby B&B and stopped in on our way home for a quick look and coffee. Instead, we wandered around this little gem of a store and ordered a breakfast sandwich - that was already prepared and fresh in a heated self-serve cabinet near the coffee bar. Sandwich and coffee were both great and reasonably priced. Cashier managed the large group of workers who must stop there every morning very well and we had no delay in getting our selections and out the door. What a great place to stop at for specialty Vermont items. They have everything from eclectic gifts to bring home, to kids toys, local syrup, chocolate, cheese, ice cream and even a deli where you can pick up something quick to eat. We opted for some baked treats including an almond apricot scone, raspberry bar and meatloaf hand pie. Everything was delicious, like it was freshly made! I love this place. I spent 4 days watching a trial at the county courthouse across the street from the Newfane Store and I went there for lunch every day. I enjoyed delicious sandwiches every time and there's a cozy spot to relax and enjoy free WiFi while you eat. I also managed to find something unusual to buy every day as well, ranging from a wooden necklace to plant markers to kitchen magnets to reading glasses. We were staying at the Four Columns and walked over to Newfane Store for snacks. The deli food was outstanding and the folks working were helpful and friendly. This spot is consistently delicious. The ingredients are always super fresh, and you can tell they take a pride in the food they make. I've eaten here both before and after it changed ownership, and while the food was good previously, it was your standard deli fare of burgers and hoagies. Now, there's usually specials like beef patties, potstickers and empanadas. The store has a little bit of everything you might need but don't want to go all the way to town for, with some local, giftable wares mixed in. OMG, their gelatos, made by people across the street, are addicting. The Tahitian Vanilla and Dark Chocolate are ridiculous. They also have a great liquor and specialty beer selection and reasonably priced deli. And the owner, Keith, is a fun guy who's improving the store all the time. read more
