However, our actual experience turned out to be far from the supportive environment she promised. The Issues We Faced: 1. Dismissal of Medical Advice My daughter has sensitive skin, and her pediatricians at Annapolis Pediatrics, a highly regarded practice, recommended using Aquaphor to manage occasional breakouts caused by weather changes or teething. Adeeba repeatedly dismissed their professional advice, insisting my daughter had Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) despite multiple doctors explicitly stating otherwise. She also claimed Annapolis Pediatrics was unreliable, stating she frequently called the health department on them. This forced us to make unnecessary doctor visits, consult a dermatologist, and repeatedly adjust our schedules to meet Adeeba's arbitrary demands, even when supported by medical documentation. 2. Neglect of Basic Needs On one occasion, my daughter went without food for hours. I only discovered this oversight through the Brightwheel app and had to contact the daycare myself to address it. The response was minimal--an acknowledgment of the "mistake." Additionally, diaper changes during nap times were skipped, leading to severe diaper rash. Adeeba's justification was that babies were sleeping, further highlighting her prioritization of convenience over care. 3. Unreasonable Policies and Inconsistencies Adeeba enforced rigid policies, such as requiring a 72-hour notice for early drop-offs, yet failed to provide consistent communication about these rules. When I sought clarification or tried to plan ahead, my messages often went unanswered. The most hurtful inconsistency was leaving my 18-month-old daughter in the infant room while her peers transitioned to the toddler room. Despite our repeated inquiries, Adeeba provided conflicting responses about when she would move up. Watching my daughter stand at the door, longing to join her friends, was heartbreaking. Adeeba's dismissive attitude, claiming, "She can make new friends," only added insult to injury. 4. How My Daughter Was Removed The final incident came on December 20th. I arrived to pick up my daughter, who was dressed in Christmas pajamas, looking forward to a festive day with her friends. Instead, Adeeba had isolated her in an empty room with baby toys, taking her anger at us out on an innocent 18-month-old child. When I arrived, Adeeba cornered me at the door with my daughter in my arms. She coldly stated, "This isn't working out; you don't listen," and admitted to giving away my daughter's spot in the toddler room. Her tone was harsh and confrontational, with no regard for the emotional distress this caused. Adeeba snapped her fingers at a teacher, who handed me my daughter's belongings--all packed up, signaling a premeditated decision to remove us from the daycare. This abrupt dismissal, just days before the holidays, left us scrambling for childcare and deeply hurt by how Adeeba handled the situation. Final Reflections: My daughter's teachers were wonderful and played a significant role in her growth, but Adeeba's unprofessional behavior overshadowed everything. Her refusal to respect medical advice from Annapolis Pediatrics, her inability to communicate effectively, and her retaliatory actions against my daughter were unacceptable. I put my daughter in this school because it came recommended by a family member and it just happened to be three blocks from my home. Little did I know that my daughter would thrive to the extent that she completed a Brigance test, and they have recommended that she go from pre-K 4 to 1st grade. That is not an uncommon occurrence from children who attend this daycare, and it has in my opinion all to do with their instillment of structure coupled with limitless academics. They have encouraged me to interview at very competitive schools. In my last interview I learned from the admission director at one of the most prestigious schools in Baltimore that Ms. Adeeba's family daycares are listed as a dropdown option of schools to choose from because children from these daycares are known to be strong learners. This was my my kids first ever daycare center. At first I was generally please even though i had very strong feelings about the cost of care. Being a Essential Employee i was greatful they took us in when the CDC closed and I wasnt able to send my children there. This was the final straw though. After multiable times my youngest son coming home with hours worth of Poo and my oldest son coming home with dings and bumps that not only were not reported to me but when they were it was because of lack of someone paying attention to him. We got a call about my son and the way it was handled was not only rude but was done at the school and we were blamed for a mark that wasnt there this morning. We had the most wonderful experience for our daughter at new edge learning center. Adeeba and all the teachers are so caring and knowledgeable. I was so impressed at the level of teaching for all the age groups there. The children learn so much more compared to any preschool or daycare I've ever experienced, I have another son who is almost 8 who went to different preschools in California and new edge blows them all away academically. Our daughter learned so much there, made so many friends, absolutely loved all her teachers. She really made such a connection with her teachers there and misses them so much, talks about them constantly at home. Less than a month ago we moved our daughter who is now 2 to a daycare on our street only because of the distance and it was not possible for us to continue to drive her a few towns away to new edge learning anymore with our schedules unfortunately. My son hit his head at this place. They did not call to tell me he had been hurt, however when I arrived they asked me to sign off on an accident report. Also, food clearly marked as my sons were given another student, and a meal that wasn't packed into his bag to go home Friday and be disposed of was fed to him the Monday after it had been reheated and left out. read more

I love The New Edge Learning Center and their staff... They go above and beyond for their students and my story is proof. Madi Originally went here for roughly over a year. In that time.... they taught my daughter sign language, french, how to read and write in those languages and in english. She knew her planets, her continents, her colors, her numbers, basically.... they got my kid ready for college before she even reached kindergarten! In August we decided to buy a house in Crofton, 15 Mins away from Odenton. So that she can continue that great learning in a 10/10 school. My daughter started school in Sept and with us being a 15 min drive away, we decided we had to regretfully take Madi out of The New Edge and enroll her in a closer day care. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!! The daycare closer to our new home was "Impressionable Years" (I wouldn't even give them 1/2 star) what a nightmare!!!!! The staff refused to warm up my child food at lunch time on her days off from school, they forgot to feed her lunch another time so they gave her cheese puffs as an alternate and the straw that broke the camels back was they forgot to pick her up after school one day. Mind you this all happened in ONE WEEK at the HORRIFIC Impressionable years daycare!!! I told The New Edge staff all the horrible experiences and the director her self!!! immediately told me to bring my child back, that they will take the 15 min drive everyday to take her to school and pick her up. Because they could not take the risk of my child being in such an unprofessional daycare. They were so mortified at what they heard, that they did not want my child being under those circumstances again. They are so committed to my child that they involved themselves to make sure they know her school schedule and events better than I do! They treat her, as their own! If that's not dedication, and the type of love you want for your child then you must not be a parent. If i could give 0 stars I would but I just want to put this out there that what i witnessed today with New Edge Learning Daycare. Honestly I DO NOT recommend this daycare to anyone. Some staffs are very sweet and enjoys their jobs while the owner and some other staffs mistreat their jobs, what I mean is if your ok with someone screaming at your child and smushing their head back down while they are waking up from a nap then New Egde Learning Daycare is perfect for you! NOBODY'S CHILD SHOULD BE TREATED IN SUCH RUDE MANNER!! If I was a parent I would go with a babysitter and not go to this daycare. I DO NOT respect anyone who mistreates someone else child like how the owner treated someone baby, the baby was about 3-5 months and it doesnt matter what age a child is if you ARE NOT the parent you shouldnt be putting your hands on anyones child in a negative way!! This is opinion on this daycare and this is what i witness!! Just Be Careful on who you allow to what your kids and make sure if you go with a company that they are treating your kids as their own in a positive way. Alot of kids are getting abused and neglected and this is a serious issue no child should go through this and I just wanted to put this out there!! This is hands down the best learning center ever. Being a working military spouse, they worked with my schedule perfectly. Within the 7 months of being in their care my daughter has learned and developed many skills, such as writing, sign language, Spanish, and many more. The facility is very clean and safe. The door has a security code lock and everyone that is not the guardian of the child must be on the record or parents must inform staff before the child is released. The owner and teachers have a great connection with the children and they are very patient with each and every child. I highly recommend this facility for parents who are looking for childcare supervision. read more

Our family loves The New Edge Learning Center! Our son has been in their care since he was a few months old and he is now over 2 years old. The owner and staff are great with the children and I feel like they love our son and not just provide care for him. They often do fun activities such as family cookouts, field trips to a local farm, they even brought some animals from a local farm to their playground for a petting zoo day! Sure there are more "high tech" centers with computer labs and iPads...etc. We looked at one in Crofton before deciding to go here and that is what they touted as an advantage. But for my wife and I, we think this place gives our son a better experience. There will be plenty of time for them to be inundated with technology. Here they get the same well rounded educational building blocks but they also get plenty of outside play (weather and season permitting). I would highly recommend this center to others looking for a similar experience. read more
