Not too oily, not too spicy, they cook fresh food into a perfect blend of traditional Chinese flavours, as well as adding a few novel dishes of their own making for originality. Everything, from the chicken in black bean sauce through to the asparagus with cashew nuts, is cooked to perfection... And as such, it's no wonder that whenever I drive past on a Friday night the restaurant is always packed! While the restaurant is nothing special in its own right, the food speaks for itself... And, if you're into Chinese food and excellent service, then I'd highly recommend this establishment to you.

The wontons were so small with meat I thought they had made a mistake and only put in the crispy bits. I was told that this is the way they do it. The containers were some of the smallest I have ever seen and were not even filled. One of the containers (which was at the bottom of the bag) had a corner broken off of it and was blamed on delivery, although when I explained it was at the bottom of the bag and there was no broken plastic anywhere I was informed it was still the delivery drivers fault (who was on a moped, which is understandable if there was eveidence of the broken piece)......... Does this mean that the delivery drivery driver picked out the broken piece or that the person who handled my food container was so careless that they didnt even realise????? There was no display of the fact that I would get dipping sauce with my won tons so I ordered a sauce (£2.50) and when my order came there was a sauce already with it, fine thats not a problem, in fact thats a good thing I get free sauce with my won tons, although maybe a side note when im ordering it wouldve been good so I knew that there was already sauce with it so i didnt have to buy sauce for no reason. They have a nicely decorated restaurant and will also do takeaway (although not a delivery service). However, this is the kind of restaurant that is worth eating on site. They have a fair number of tables and the whole decor is tasteful. The staff are extremely hospitable and lucky the food also lives up to these great standards. You may pay a little more for some dishes than in other takeaways in town, but it's worth the slight price increase.The sot shelled crab starter is a staple favourite when I eat here and they will also serve whole lobster or crab with 24 hours notice. Aside from that, expect a good range of dishes you would expect on the menu and it is nice to see that they will not add any msg, excessive salt or fat to their cooking. The wine list is more than acceptable, but it is really the food that will leave the best memories in your mouth. Seeing as it is close to the station, there is no reason why anyone can't come eat here. It is well worth the extra effort and an excellent reason to come to Burgess Hill.

The staff are really helpful and friendly and the drinks are offered as soon as your glass is empty. The house wine is excellent value for money and not bad at all. Say goodbye to the diet!

They can be a bit reluctant to offer more than 1 round of starters, but if you stick to your guns they will bring out more than the obligatory 1 round. Of the main courses the sizzling dishes stand out from the crowd and the overall quality of the food is great. The drinks menu is pretty well rounded, but they will try and fill your glasses quickly to encourage additional wet sales. I would say that this is one of the best Chinese places to eat at in the town. Highly recommended.

I forget the exact name of what I ordered, but it was a very spicy chicken and noodle dish where the chicken contained bits of bone so there was some deft mouth work involved eat through it. I didn't mind this, having lived in Hong Kong for several years and being much used to the remove-meat-in-mouth-and-spit-out-bone procedure, but consider yourself warned if that's not your idea of a good time. I appreciated that it was authentically spicy, but it couldn't have been more authentically seasoned overall and less oily. I didn't regret my meal and found it decent and filling, but it didn't excite me enough to return.
