The Nanny Connection - Date Night!

    The Nanny Connection

Really disappointed in my experience with The Nanny Connection. I've worked with agencies in New…read moreYork City, Los Angeles, as well as a nanny and governess school based out of Cleveland. I have never been so disrespected and dismissed as a Certified Professional Governess before in my entire career. I was discouraged and almost reprimanded for requiring I get reimbursed for health insurance (for a full time position). That is disgusting, all full-time employees are deserved health care benefits, especially a professional proving a luxury service; being a nanny! They were hoping I would just accept anything offered or not offered to me so they could greedily collect their monetary compensation for the placement. I was also told that I should not be negotiating my salary, and I quote, "we do all of the negotiating with the families, you are not the one paying for this service".... Could you imagine. And to this I replied, "without the nannies you would have no service to provide". I have never had an agency try to push so hard Nannies also taking the role of household maid and professional chef. I made it very clear that I am a professional (I have years of nannying experience, have a bachelors in English Education, and went to a nanny school to become a certified professional governess) and will not be subjected to scrubbing the floors, when my focus and background has prepared me for the educating and nurturing of the child. (Of course I always perform any child related cleaning task and make meals for the children). I could keep going. I luckily was able to advocate for myself to this agency and demand my rightful compensation and found a family who after interviewing with me- was made aware of what I am able to provide for their children and hired me. I fear for the nannies who are not as strong and will be taken advantage of. Overall, this agency doesn't care for children, because if they did- they would want to ensure that every family is placed with the best, most skilled, professional nanny that is respected and compensated for in a professional manner.

I interviewed and was offered a position with the company as a nanny. In corresponding with the recruiters/hiring staff they were so disrespectful and rude. They expect you to bend over backwards for them and to respond to their texts/calls within 10 minutes. Meanwhile they take their good old time in responding back to my questions/concerns...if they respond at all. Would not recommend this company to either Nannies looking for employment or to families looking for care. They suck!!!

Unfortunately this daycare has high turnover for employees who last no more than a month or two. They are extremely understaffed and over capacity with children. Week after week we drop our daughter off around 7:45am and there are 5 infants to one teacher in her class. If our daughter is not one of the 5 babies, they turn us away and tell us they have no more space for our child. It happened last week and again yesterday and again this morning after arriving earlier than expected at 6:45am. They claim they sent an e-mail notifying parents of the staffing shortage but no e-mail was receive to my wife or my accounts on file. We pay almost $300 a week for this place, $1200 a month. For Creative Playrooms of Solon to be so unprofessional and unreliable to still take our money and deny us space for our child due to staff shortage and over capacity of kids is ridiculous. They need to get shutdown and have their license revoked by the state and Cuyahoga County Department of Consumer Affairs. I assumed this was a legit child care with close proximity to my office, I am an executive for the World's largest food & beverage company and to have to miss a day or two of work because they are negligent and understaffed with accepting my child is horrendous. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! You've been warned!!!

The program director/owner is wonderful. We reviewed two other programs in the area (Goddard and Kids Club) and this place had the best vibe to us. The owner is very flexible with alternative schedules - which is one of the reasons it is popular with many local teachers. We have a goofy schedule and they have been flexible and understanding. I am not a teacher, but my husband's schedule changes constantly and that is a tough sell for most places to accommodate. The program has a nice balance of structure while still catering to the needs of the individual child. My kids are both very different but have each found their way in this school. I love that they have a busing arrangement with two local schools which makes life so easy for parents once the kids are school aged. There are optional programs which cost extra money (About $10 per class per week) for music, computer class, Spanish, and I think one other. My son has thoroughly enjoyed music and computer. We've capped it at two. We too opt to send lunch for our son. They are careful to store it properly so it stays cold and always stick it back in the fridge when it is done so everything is still fresh at pick up time. My son sometimes runs out of time for lunch, but he is a chatty cathy, so I think it is his issue. My only wish for the program was to give the kids more chances to get outside. We had a rotten winter last year, so I am sure that was part of it. I also "get" that getting a ground of kids into their snow gear takes a while. But, a little more outside time would be ideal.
