At one counter we're the butcher seemed to understand my plight aNd recommended that I check out the Big Red Market in Thorold. I did and was I impressed by the cuts of meat readily available. I ended up leaving with a Blade roast, a Beef brisket and a Corned Beef roast from a barrel. Needless to say I'll be back again soon for something else to enjoy making - in 3 days I've already cooked a corned beef dinner and a Chinese Beef Brisket stew with Daikon Radish. I never felt rushed inside the store and while I haven't yet cooked/prepared all the items, it all looked fresh. I made some of the feta/spinach sausage today and it was delicious and not too fatty. There are cheeses, breads and some condiments for sale as well as local products like Gondola Macaroni. I'll definitely be coming back often for my meat/seafood needs.
