FINALLY, I have shopped at Bob's Price-Rite Market ... Hold the presses! I see by its website that…read moreit is now Jd Price Rite Market. 326 W. Delavan in Buffalo. The store has been here near 40 years. My friend Dena who lives across the street from Bob's...I mean Jd's always calls it Bob's, so be patient with me. This store first came to my attention when it was in the news a lot, after the Price-rite chain came to town. But that is ancient history now. Anyway, after a short visit with my friend, I hobbled across the street to...Jd's. Yes, very friendly people there, and helpful. There was not a large selection of fresh produce, but what there was looked fresh and the prices were very compatible with my shopping experiences earlier this week. I bought a beautiful apple for 54¢. Dena always brags on their meats. There were some very nice cuts of beef, some sausages, some pork chops, wings, also some salads. I'm not a big beef eater, so I asked if they had ground pork. The woman said we can grind it for you. I said I'd like a pound. It was nicely wrapped in white butcher paper. The freezer section had a lot of frozen meats, things that had been prepared into patties and meatballs, all ready to take home to your freezer. On my way to the checkout, I spied a bag of dry large lima beans, so I grabbed that, too. I've been making a lot of soups lately. On the downside, the store is small and parking is street only. The upside there is that they do deliver, citywide, I think. And there is a website. The big plus for me was the ground pork I bought there. When I got home, I unwrapped it in order to divide into two half-pound containers for freezing. Beautiful. I have never seen such lean and good looking ground pork. At $3.82 for my package, it might have been a few cents more than the fatty ground pork I used to buy. I'll definitely go back to Jd's for that. Can't wait to tell Dena about the ground pork I bought at Bob's. P.S. I looked at the website and had to come back here to tell you to check out their MEAT PACKAGE DEALS. Also deli offerings. https://www.priceritewestside.com/our-products Eye-popping.

Service is still as friendly as it was then. Food was still as good too. I had the turkey sub and my son had the steak sub. They may not look exciting for a picture, but they were excellent! I wish it were closer to my house because I could go for another one today! There is a conscience store in here too with plenty of choices of snack and drinks. There's seating. There's a shelf if you want to place an order to go. You can order online too! If you decide to sit and eat there, they'll bring you your food and then you'll cash out at the register when you're done (they'll have a slip with your order already).

Had this in drafts from OCT 2024, but looks like I didn't finish it so I'll try my best now…read more My husband (fiancé at the time) and I attended a wedding here. We also looked at this venue for our wedding as well, but decided to go somewhere else. I'm glad we did. During the initial visit, everything sounded great, but it was nothing like that when we actually went to the wedding. The photos they showed us of the charcuterie tables had so much food on them, but at the actual wedding it was not even close to what those pictures looked like. Additionally, we asked about adding Hayburner to serve if we chose this venue, and they said no. We loved that you can buy their meats in the butcher shop. We did get a variety of things, but honestly none of them were super life changing or anything. Now let's get to the wedding review! Venue: The grounds are beautiful but the tent wasn't the best party and dinner area, especially if it's a little colder. The tent was cold. They had heaters but it was difficult to feel them unless you were right under in. Which in that case it felt like a sauna. The ground is all stones, so any ladies wearing heels- walk carefully. I really wish it was a concrete floor or an actual larger building. The dance floor was also super tiny and didn't fit a whole lot of people. Passed hors d'oeuvres: - Mini street tacos 7/10 Don't remember what else they had. Family style dinner: not nearly enough room on any of the tables to be served this way. There's no extra room for the plates of food. It was also super dark in here by the time dinner was served so it was really kinda difficult to see. - Lifecycle Salad 8/10 - horseradish smashed potatoes 5/10 I hate that they only offer mashed potatoes this way because I hate horseradish. - I think they might have also had risotto? But I honestly don't remember. - chicken 8/10 Actually not bad. - sliced beef tenderloin 7/10 Disappointed because I thought this was going to be so good but it really wasn't. It was pretty bland. I don't remember if it was too raw or overcooked, but I remember it not being cooked right so I didn't eat it. Drinks: - blueberry lemonade 10/10 Fantastic drink actually Desserts: - smores 10/10 Great touch - cookie ice cream sandwich Didn't try these. - chocolate fondue 9/10 I feel like the chocolate they used wasn't the best tasting but it worked
