It's the engineer that makes or breaks your song and Mobtown Studios, Mat Leffler-Schulman exponentially delivers. He has a true love for the art and genuine interest in your project that goes beyond a mother's love for her children. The Synergy between Artist & Engineer is beautifully apparent when you hear your final master. There are lots of order-by-number studios out there, but at Mobtown Studios your always sitting at the Chef's Table. Kemo Hitaffer KemoTheSamurai.com

Mobtown was EXACTLY what I always hoped for in a studio…read more I recorded most of my album myself but when it was time for the finishing touches I knew I needed a professional. Mat Leffler-Schulman owns the place and he booked me an amazing drummer, recorded the drums, then mixed and mastered the EP. He did a spectacular job. One of my main concerns going into it was that I had so many different kinds of instruments on the album--acoustic and electric guitars, celesta, glockenspiel, cellos, violins, backwards guitars, melodica, keyboards, various percussion items, etc. Each song had a lot of tracks and I was worried about getting it all to meld together into a cohesive whole while still being able to hear all the little bits. Mat did it. The record sounds better than I ever thought it could. The studio is a very cool space in a row house--comfortable and pretty. Mat is easy-going, accommodating, professional, great to work with. He really knows what he is doing and works hard to get everything to sound the way you want it. He's also great with feedback and constructive criticism to push the project where it needs to be. I'm pretty sure I found the place just by googling "recording studio Baltimore." I went to their great website where they have tons of examples and write-ups of work they've done, plus videos of "Micro Shows" where bands perform in the studio for small audiences. After looking around the site I knew this would be a good fit. If you're making music anywhere in the vicinity of Baltimore, this is the place to go.
