While his SAT scores…read morewere good, he needed to improve to have a competitive shot at many of his top choice colleges and honors programs. Ian did an outstanding job helping him prepare, and his scores went up significantly, with math being near perfect. My son felt like he learned a lot too. It was well worth the money we spent. As a mother of three, we have now worked with three different SAT/ACT prep programs, and Streamline far exceeds the others.

I talked to a few friends with older kids and they recommended Ian at Streamline Tutors. Joe started working with Ian in June of this year. Ian looked at his scores and decided that he is naturally better at the ACT than SAT so decided to focus on this test only. They met weekly through the summer as much as our vacation schedule allowed, with the goal of taking the October test. Joe started with prep books, and then moved on to practice tests. Before the scheduled test, Streamline offered in center simulated practice tests to help prepare for the real thing. There were many frustrating moments where Joe didn't feel like he was improving, but Ian felt confident in him and kept him focused. The big day came, and Joe walked out with a smile. He felt pretty good. The scores arrived a few weeks later and his composite score came up 4 points from baseline, including a perfect score in one subject and near perfect in two others. We couldn't be happier with the experience and would highly recommend Streamline.

When my child made statements of discouragement in learning new concepts they did not work to assure her but lacked patience took these comments as a lack of desire to learn. Jim Trexler is dismissive and often times combative in emails when younger children don't meet his mark when working to master new concepts. Upon joining the center my husband and I explained to Mr. Trexelr that my older child need homework help because she was having trouble grasping Math concepts with her current math teachers style and he agreed that he and his staff could help keep her on track during the school year and make sure she kept developing her math skills. After joining Jim sent constant emails complaining that she only wanted to work on homework while at the center and finished minimal worksheets and was not meeting the mark for him to run his business. It did not matter that she needed to keep up with her academically rigorous curriculum at school. He was also upset that she came in to study after her games or practices and felt she was focusing more on sports than her academics as a whole because she was not completing his quota of worksheets. Overall, if you have a young child that actually needs to become more confident in math concepts and needs a bit of hand holding and encouragement this is not the place. Get them a workbook and a one on one tutor to help build their skills. And if you have an older child that you want to get math help and reinforcement of concepts that they are learning, this is not the place, because they want you to do worksheets the entire time you are there which may not be related in anyway to the concepts that the child is learning at that particular time.
