I hired Chris for my wedding and he let me down. I was very disappointed. Chris, has a good list for planning and is professional over email. However, he did not follow my instructions, which we had discussed prior to the wedding. His pre-wedding planning is very detailed so I had high expectations. During the wedding he really let me down. First, when the wedding party arrived for introductions a groomsmen informed Chris that we had arrived and were waiting outside. Christ went up to my mom (the mother of the bride) and told her that we were all here and that she should tell the guest to come inside, from the cocktail hour and find their seats. My mom said.. can't you tell them over the sound system... Chris's response, "they aren't my guest" As a result, another groomsmen had to yell to inform all the guests to go inside and find their seats. Then, once everyone found their seats and it was time to introduce the bridal party Chris didn't play any of the music we discussed during the introductions. I had asked for two different songs to be played in the background when the bridal party was introduced and the bride and groom respectively. However, Chris just said everyone's names. It made for a very bad first impression on me but also failed to set the atmosphere. I asked for a specific style of music to be played while we were dinning and Chris played his own music. Then when the dancing started he played the music I requested during dinner. I did not make a song list but I wish I had. I expected my DJ to play music and know songs that got people out on the floor and dancing. A good DJ should be able to judge the crowds reactions and play music to their liking. Chris did not do that. It seemed that he would play three bad songs for every good song. Once people were out on the floor dancing he would change it to a bad song and the dance floor would clear out. My mom asked for several requests and his response to her was "this is what the bride requested" In my written pre planning I clearly stated that I expect my DJ to read the audience and play music that gets people out on the dance floor. Additionally, Chris was difficult to understand the entire night. Every time he talked on the microphone he sounded like he was mumbling. People had to take cues from the bridal party instead of him. I would not recommend Chris for a wedding. The DJ can make or break the atmosphere and I was very disappointed in his performance. I think he is more suited for high school dances and events that don't require leadership from the DJ. read more
