This shop is based on the Monocle magazine, owned and founded by Tyler Brûlé
The first ever Monocle magazine, was published back in March 2007
Their UK Head Office/HQ is located in Midori House, at No. 1 Dorset Street, Marylebone, (just off Baker Street) which is literally only just five minutes walk from the actual Monocle shop.
The Monocle shop itself deals mostly with exclusive goods, of which all of them are in collaboration for the Monocle magazine. Monocle also have other branch stores in New York, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Geneva, Toronto and Osaka.
All the items in the Monocle store are designed by Monocle for the Monocle fans and readers.
More importantly, the first ever Monocle magazine issue is
signed by the Monocle owner, The leather goods here at Monocle are highly recommended.
Monocle also has stocked and sold leather goods from Ettinger, Brooklyn, Ganzo,
Valextra, and Tod's and other extremely upscale brand names.
Monocle also stock totally upscale stationary, often made in Germany and sometimes Japan, the quality of their stationary is very hard-to-find.
Monocle also do exclusive products and the Monocle shop of Marylebone is seriously worth visiting and looking into.
I find the Monocle shop, a true hidden gem with loads and loads of limited edition things, that you cannot find elsewhere in London.
Customers who buy from the Monocle shop, also buy from Trunk Clothiers, another menswear outfitters, based in No. 8 Chiltern Street.
The current retail manager of both, the Monocle stores in London, is Ian Hammond and I find him a very pleasant person to talk to. read more
