Millstone Creek Orchards - Apple cider float + apple cider donuts

Friends and I went to pick apples at Millstone Creek Orchards. We arrived and checked in under the…read moreport. We were given samples of a few different apples from the orchard while we were given instructions. We took a 5 minute hayride down to the section of apples that we would be selecting from. I'm not sure if we had come at the end or close to the end of the season but the apples that were available weren't the best. After apple picking, we took the ride back to the entrance where we shopped in the Apple Barn. The cider (non alcoholic) slushie was delicious. My favorite part of my entire time was eating the cider donuts. Made fresh and they melt in your mouth. We also visited the Cider House. They have a small selection of hard cider, other beverages, & a small selection of food. I do wish they had more options for folks that can't have dairy or don't eat pork. Overall experience was cute and the staff were friendly. If you plan on doing any of the picking from any of the orchards you can be cute but be comfy. It's a working orchard so there will be hay, dirt, bugs, etc.

You have to purchase tickets online (no on-site sales) and it's $18.95 pp which gives you access to the apple orchard, apple tasting, hayride to the orchard, cider pressing demonstration with a fresh cider sample and access to the catch and release fishing pond. They suggest that you bring your own pole and bait. You also get to sample an apple cider slushee which was refreshing after being in the sun picking apples. If you want to pick apples, it's an additional cost based on whether you want a 1/4 peck or 1/2 peck. You have to purchase that when you purchase your event ticket. The apples that they had available were Granny Smith, Golden Delicious, Fuji and a really tart apple that's good for baking (I forget the name of the apple). They also have Arkansas Black apples but they weren't ready for picking yet. We had a great time picking apples. We're from South Florida where you only see apples in the grocery store. There's a play area for the kids to run around and play. It's a fun activity, especially if you have kids.

Eno River Farm - Banana ice cream was awesome

So there's not really too much to do other than sit on some rocking chairs & eat some ice cream (which we did enjoy doing.) I didn't even realize that there was a trail out there until after we had already left and I'm seeing other people's reviews so they may need to put up signs for that in the store area. I feel like the inside is really just ice cream, coffee, and a small little nursery area. Not sure if the drive out there was really worth it for the 15 to 20 minutes we spent out there. The banana ice cream was really awesome though and all of the employees there were very helpful and nice. Definitely a place that you go to when there's an actual event unfortunately we just missed the fall wreath making event Seems like people bring their kids out there to run around the outdoor area. Not sure if the prices of the ice cream or the plants was necessarily great, but it's a smaller owned business I'm sure so it tracks

They make homemade icecream and sorbet year round. Also they serve coffees and lattes. There is some picnic tables around to enjoy coffee and icecream with a beautiful view of the farm. I tried the coffee leche icecream and the strawberry and green apple cider sorbet. There all great flavors.
