Lovely place to pick up fresh vegetables, homemade ice cream, cheese, honey, etc. Very clean, great people and a beautiful place for kids to play and the whole family to enjoy ice cream. I got strawberry cheesecake ice cream and butterfly tea!! Both were excellent!! I enjoyed eating my ice cream on one of the swings near the play area. Service at the ice cream shop is amazing and the service outside is knowledgeable and friendly. It's a long way from home but I will be back! read more

I have been coming to this place for years just to eat their ice cream. They keep the flavors fresh, each batch is made in house and it couldn't taste better! Every flavor I have tried here I have loved. The workers are always so friendly. They let you try samples. Wonderful place! This is one of my favorite produce stands. I love buying strawberries (you can pick your own), blueberries, peaches, plums, salad cucumbers, zucchini, squash, eggplant and jalapeños here when in season. Everything is always great and lasts awhile. They also sell ice cream and freshly made lemonade here. If you're in the area, it's a must stop in the spring and summer months. read more

I went to Porter Farms to get the pre-picked basket of strawberries and some fresh ice cream at the Willow Spring location. It was definitely jam packed, pun unintentional, the strawberries were so big and juicy and that flavor transformed over to home once eating a giant bowl. For $18 you get what I would consider a nice size bucket overflowing with strawberries. The ice cream line was so long but you get through pretty quickly with some fun flavors to choose from in a cup or cone or milkshake. I tried strawberry cheesecake, salted caramel, and cotton candy. I loved that they weren't too sweet but just right. They have other seasonal produce so I am excited to return and try and even sit at tables on warmer day and enjoy. read more

Porter Farms is the perfect spot to go strawberry picking! It's a ways out there from us but since they also have homemade ice cream we figured we could make an afternoon out of it! When we arrived there was a long line for ice cream, but not berry picking. You grabbed your bucket and were off. We went late in the day and there were still plenty of strawberries to be had. It wasn't too crowded and you have plenty of room to pick. After our basket was filled we headed to the ice cream line. The line moved pretty fast and the employees were all super friendly. I of course had to get strawberry ice cream! I ended up getting a strawberry milkshake and it had a bit too much milk in it. However, my husband had gotten a scoop of strawberry and it was delicious. The perfect way to end your afternoon strawberry picking. They also have quite a large seating area to the back of the ice cream shop complete with a huge sandbox and wooden train. read more

The girl with a thing on her arm was very rude and seemed high because she couldnt even pay attention to what i saying and rolled her eyes.The other girls seemed very sweet, the first time in the past 4 times ive been here I've received bad service. I would say the icecream and lemonade are great but someone needs to tell her to be nicer to costumers. read more

This place is an EASY 5 stars just based on their ice cream alone! But I'll get to that in a second.. I went with a group of friends for blackberry picking, and it was effortless to find sweet berries that were both big and small. Every now and then you'll run into a tart one but they can't all be perfect. If you fill up the basket to as much as you can it's $14.00 which isn't bad. They sell other produce too of course - I saw watermelon, peaches, blueberries, and some fruit spreads and honey. To their ice cream - it's homemade and they have 16 flavors to choose from. Getting them in a waffle cone is the best! My personal choice was the strawberry cheese cake and cotton candy flavors. Plenty of parking but that's pretty much with any farm. There's really no reason to mark a star off, just wish they were a little closer, but worth the drive if you live in Raleigh (in my opinion). Hope this helps. read more

I love Porter farms! They have really nice strawberries, lovely ice cream flavors,I love the drinks they serve as-well. They sell beautiful veggies and fruits, and have a nice play and sit down area. I only Give it a 4-5 rating because I feel as if the buckets for strawberries are a bit overpriced, I can understand $10 but $15 is a lot, but don't get me wrong! Located around half an hour drive from NC State, this is an awesome place if you are into strawberry picking. I know I am not but I still loved it. It's 13 dollars a bucket and they have both pre-picked and u pick option (i.e. the fun pick where you pick it yourself). I went there late in the afternoon on a Sunday and they still had plenty of sweet strawberries left. They also have homemade ice-cream which are liked by many but after sampling 4-5 flavors, I found to be just okay. All in all, great place to spend an afternoon with your family and/or friends. read more

I really love this location! They have great ice cream, fresh sweet strawberries and places to sit where you can enjoy being in the country (just 15 minutes or so from Raleigh) and super convenient to Fuquay-Varina and Holly Springs. There's also a large sandbox FILLED with dump trucks for the kiddos to play in it. My 8 and 11 y.o. love coming here. They also have local seasonal produce - I get most of my veggies here during the spring and summer instead of Trader Joe's. read more

Online it says their open till late, however upon arrival and with 1-2 hours of daylight left we were told we could not pick strawberries. There were still folks on the field and I can understand not letting people pick in the dark but with ample light left it's a shame that we were trying to beat the heat of the day with 4 kids to pick and could not.
