However, I don't believe we would have accomplished what we needed to--understanding our budgeting, offering on one home, moving to a different home, and ultimately ending up with a better interest rate and an accelerated closing date--if we had gone that direction this time. Most importantly, though, we valued having someone to connect with who walked us through these processes, communicated genuinely, and acted as a great sounding board to iron out issues along the way. Thank you again to Emily, Jennifer & team for helping us land our dream home and making a super stressful time smoother than it could have been. We appreciate all of your hard work for us.

There is clear lack of communication within the company as well as with customers. Any time my family and I have been given an answer, it is because WE have reached out and NOT the other way around. I read another review on here that said this company makes them feel like they are some sort of criminal, and I COULDN'T HAVE worded it better myself. The astonishing amount of other 1-STAR reviews with similar issues to mine is ALL THE VALIDATION I NEEDED! It is not a ME issue... They drug their feet and caused all kinds of issues when I got the loan. For some reason they couldn't fund the loan so we couldn't get the car but the loan was showing up on my online banking and a payment schedule was established before I could get the car. I wanted to make a big payment to start the loan and lower the monthly. One person tells me to make the payment before my first statement so I do, I call to get the reduced payment info and another person says I should have waited to make the chunk payment until after my first statement. They don't know what they're doing and as a result I have a higher payment. Then, years later we pay the loan off with one last big chunk payment and they processed the payment wrong. It's paid off and it's not accruing interest but a month after the loan is paid off I have to call to get the title and it's only then that they figure out it was "processed wrong" on their end. They have to go through it again and submit it to the county. There is a negative balance on the account so they will apply that to my saving once its all processed properly. so I lose out on a months worth of interest (not much but still) and I have to call and tell them to do their job. Don't bother getting an auto loan from them. And one can assume that they handle all loans this well.

My whole loan process went very smoothly and the entire process was worry free, and all of the (maybe three people?) i spoke to we're professional and pleasant. I worked with 3 mortgage lenders in our most recent purchase and HMC was by far the least…read moreresponsive and least professional. They prefer to communicate over email and neglected many requests for a phone call. At the end of the day, even with over $25,000 of seller credit, our options were better with the big bank lenders. HMC origination fees are HIGH, likely to offset the seller credit, and they locked us in at an unfavorable interest rate. Our advice is to check around and not be swayed by Richmond Home's seller credit. They are slowww. By the time my other lender had me fully approved and ready to close, HMC was still asking for x. We give them x and they ask for y, and then z. We proceeded to underwriting with both lenders because HMC offered to reconsider their loan terms but without much detail. We ultimately went with an external lender, where the loan officer and assistants would call me within minutes of me emailing or texting. Compared to HMC ignoring more than half my requests for a phone call, the experiences were night and day.
