I would always see this food truck (tortas Azteca) parked alongside of the road of The giant Highway of Richmond parkway for years but never tried it so decided to try it myself. The times I've seen it, i see a lot of construction workers eating there. Parking is alongside the road where the food truck parks at, so you would have to pull over to the side of the road, which I only give 4 stars for, because traffic is fast (speeds of 50mph and up) and incoming and can be dangerous and not safe. The food truck had a lot to offer. I posted pics here of the menu and miscellaneous items they have. Lots of variety from tacos, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, to cold sandwiches and what I came for, Breakfast burritos. I decided to get the #1 breakfast burrito which is Bacon, Sausage, Ham, potatoes, egg and cheese. Didn't have to wait for the food too long, I would say 5-6 minutes max until i got my burrito. OMG the burrito was FAT, generous size, and delicious. Its definitely good to share for 2. I like my food on the spicy side and thank god they have different types of hot sauces for your spicy needs to offer. The burrito was delicious. I couldn't believe I've been missing out on these breakfast burritos and this food truck. This truck has been sitting here of the highway, every morning, for years and I just discovered the flavors of it. The price for this burrito was amazing. Cheap like $6-7 dollars. Normally this burrito as big as this is an easy $10-12 dollars elsewhere. The meat and eggs were perfectly cooked. I would definitely visit this place again and get the number 1 or try something new other than breakfast. Can't wait to go back to try a regular burrito. Definitely recommend this place for a breakfast burrito. Lots of flavor, food comes out fast, cheap price, can't beat it.

I ordered a 4-piece Krunch Box with jumbo tenders, mashed potatoes with gravy and a biscuit on the side. They even have their own branding of sauces, which were equally good. The portions were generous and I was satisfied after finishing just half of my order, saving the rest for a later time. I am a small person, with slightly less of an appetite than most others, but I went home with two meals from this order and it all amounted to about $12.61. The only thing making this meal less than perfect is too much gravy that ended up drowning the mashed potatoes, but this is only a personal preference. The next time I return, I'd be interested to try the jambalaya or mac & cheese sides, as well! I'd highly recommend this place to anyone, and even bring some visiting family members to this spot the next time they come around. The service is fast and straightforward. And I appreciate that it's located within the gas station, where you have many options for additional beverages or snacks on the way out. It's really a great spot, worth returning to many times over.

It could be something I'm not understanding in terms of the food culture here, but it seems like the things I like to eat are simply not done well, albeit a few stellar exceptions. Tacos El Indio falls squarely into this category; they don't even list chicken on their meat options for burritos. What I had was extremely mediocre, bordering on inedible. I'm reviewing this spot because I was recommended to try it based on some sort of 'hot and new' status that Yelp is encouraging in my local search results, and it was a huge dissappointment. My notes below. Pros: - Avocado: They DO have avocado, which for whatever stupid reason is a rarity at Richmond taquerias (moreso with taco trucks). I would say that this is where my 1 star comes from (yes I would give some places a zero if I could), as I think that in today's Richmond-burrito-climate seems heroic. Oh and even better: it was fresh. Cons: - tortilla was overly chewy / rubbery and dry - chicken is typical of a lot of Richmond "grilled chicken" fillings: Cut up into miniscule pieces, after being overly martinated and left out for way too long, then reheated with expired cheap oil. The result is a rubbery texture with a hard exterior that tastes overly saturated and flavorless, albeit the taste of the oil (think boiled-chicken-taste, but worse). One reason this could happen is that an establishment makes carnitas well and considers that method of preparing meat to translate over to other proteins. Of course, it doesn't. - Salsa protocol: I was asked whether or not I wanted "spicy" sauce inside the burrito which consists of Chile de Arbol, and let's be honest; that ain't spicy. Before I'd asked about which type of chile, I declined to have too much of the "spicy sauce" in the burrito, heeding the warning, but asked to have the salsa on the side. - Salsa portions: 1oz salsa cups and they only give you one of each. And worse still, you'll need the salsa because of how bland the food is. I asked for two extra as I'd not ordered as much inside the burrito, but the cashier told me "this time I can give you two extra" - 4 total - "but next time each is $0.50 per cup". Really? Nickel'n'diming on tiny salsa cups? - The menu (as indicated by the photos shared of the establishment thus far) is literally wrong and they haven't bothered to update it since they opened. There are a bunch of things crossed out, but in no way does it represent what you can actually order. In fact, the item I ordered - a chicken burrito - is not on the menu. The meats "grilled chicken" and "shredded chicken" are not on the menu in the burrito section, they're presented via word of mouth at the window. - Consistency: My first bite was a bit into an incredibly dense amount of folded tortilla, which is not my favorite experience. It's indicative of a poor balance of ingredients inside of the tortilla and not enough filling per the tortilla size.
