Kelley was very responsive in getting back to me via email. When my husband and I first met Kelley & her husband Paul, we met them at a Starbucks in Costa Mesa. They were really nice and very easy going to talk to. They answered all of our questions. My husband was really against having a videographer at the wedding because he thought this was one expense that was not necessary. But after he spoke with them, he thought it would be okay to make allowance for one in our budget. After we met with them for about an hour, I knew that I would not feel awkward around them if they filmed our wedding. But as luck would have it, unfortunately they were not available on our wedding day (we had originally told them another date and they were available but once we found our venue, we were told our original date was not available and had to change it. With this new date change, they were not available). I was truly heart broken when Kelley told me that they were not available on our day to film and had to endure a frustrating search for another videographer team. And to be honest, I have seen so many videos (and I mean a TON) and none, absolutely NONE can compare to what 618 studios do, and at the price they had originally quoted us in 2010. Either the videos were really shaky at times and awkward panning of the camera or if it was nice and clean cut, the price was two times as much as what 618 was going to charge us. So even though my husband and I did not end up having Kelley & Paul film our wedding day, we still would gladly highly recommend them to any future bride & groom. (And yes every now and then I like to watch some of their recent videos because they do such an amazing job telling the story of 2 people starting their 1st new lives with each other) Their films are of high quality and nice and clean shots and transitions between scenes of the day (something I envy of all of these lucky brides & grooms who had them at their wedding). Honestly, I still wished that they had filmed our wedding because the videographer we hired is not nearly as awesome and our video wasn't nearly as clean cut and had some shaky shots (but was the next best thing for us, within our budget) and unnecessary camera panning.

I work in the wedding industry and kindness is rarely a thing you see but it is even more rare when partnered with talent on this level. Also, I am very awkward in front of the camera and I require a little direction, our photographer took a very hands off approach so having the very thoughtfully composed shots and lighting that were very carefully directed by Jordan and Julie are invaluable to having the beautiful moments of the day preserved for years to come. As a visual person, I was most impressed with their story telling, they really understood and conveyed the theme and story I had in my mind of the day without every having to be told or spelled out for them. Their art direction, cinematography and ability to tell a story are as good as it gets! After watching our film an unreasonable number of times, I still pick up on nuances where they timed the flip of a dress of the movement in a shot to match up with the music. It was really important to me to have a copy of the raw footage from my wedding, because I knew I was going to be too busy to remember the ceremony and the toasts, and all those other important moments. Anne and Dave offered a package that included this footage, and at a reasonable price. The other videographer I had found who offered this was charging an exorbitant amount. (2) I spoke with Anne before hiring her, and I really liked her. She responded to my email inquiry very quickly. When we talked about their packages, she gave me her honest opinion--that, for what I was looking for, one of their cheaper packages would be sufficient. She could have tried to upsell me, but the fact that she didn't showed me that she has integrity. I also just really liked her energy when I spoke with her. She seemed really earnest, cheerful, and supportive. I'm so pleased with the work that Anne and Dave did. They arrived early to the venue and worked nonstop until after the first dance. Our photographer seemed to enjoy working with them, to the extent that I thought they were already friends (but they'd all just met that day). Anne and Dave both had good suggestions for certain shots they wanted, and even recommended some shots to the photographer. Lastly, there was a point before the ceremony where I was extremely stressed and frustrated, and Anne came over under the guise of fixing my necklace, but I think she was also trying to help me take deep breaths. She wasn't being condescending or anything, it was just a natural extension of her calm energy. That moment helped ground me, and helped me feel like I had someone supporting me. Marc and company were very communicative and answered our many questions in the lead-up to the wedding. They have you fill out a questionnaire which gets you to think about which style of video you'd like, documentary or cinematic, and which songs you'd like included. We opted for cinematic. A few days prior to the wedding, we were notified that Jessica would be our videographer. She showed up right on time the day of the wedding after verifying which rooms we'd be getting ready in. Jessica was lovely to work with and it helped she also got along great with our photographers (I think she'd worked with some of them before). Right on schedule, about two months later, she reached out to us to let us know that both our trailer and our full wedding video were ready. The videos did not disappoint; they were equal parts beautiful and touching and included several of our favorite wedding songs including our first dance song. It was the right call for us to opt for cinematic; it was very moving to watch our wedding day unfold as if it was a shorter feature length film. We asked for our full video to include the entirety of both of our vows and it was wonderful to have those both captured. I still have not to this day never printed a single photo! We ended up re-shooting a year later with someone else. I sat down to finally print my wedding book tonight, and absolutely awful. Never received any edited photos. Hi Eric- So I'm a bit unhappy with the final pictures. I feel there was NO attention to detail taken. The pictures in the bridal suite have a big stinking AC in the background. I'm literally in a couture gown in front of an AC unit. I don't care to print most of the photos taken there. It would have been had the ac unit been photo shopped out, or they tried another location to shoot the dress. Im apalled that the grooms photos were taken on the balcony with the ac unit in the background, and in the hallway of the hotel, the railing in the hallway is so cringy (it screams motel 6)!! And not to mention the miscellaneous peoples in the background. There was so many better places on the property that these photos could have been taken. Finally, I wish your photographers would have reviewed their cameras a little closer, my daughter one of the flower girl did not make one pretty smile. All sorts of weird faces and expressions from her (not your guys fault) but it would have been nice had she or I been cued to smile pretty etc. I don't even have one nice photo. I mean you guys are the professionals. One of my bridesmaids there is only two pictures with and she looks freakish in both. Again how about looking at the camera, and Making sure you got a good shot. Lastly, most of the photos that I do like from the beach have people in the background. Can this be photoshopped? I literally at this point don't even have one photo that I would like to print and hang. Really don't feel like I got any images like the ones on your website. I'm really bummed as there are no do-overs, at least with my whole wedding party. I will be redoing photos with my husband and daughters at some point. Hopefully, we will then finally have the photos I had hoped for. I hope you take this criticism constructively back to your team.
