Well I decided to try the chicken Caesar salad. It wasn't bad. It needed more lettuce and less…read morecroutons. They gave me tons of chicken. I didn't love the dressing. The dressing wasn't very creamy, the dressing needed more Parmesan cheese in it. I think they need to change the dressing recipe. The dressing didn't have much flavor unfortunately. On a positive note, I had never had ceviche and I asked if I could sample it and the kind clerk gave me a huge sample. It wasn't bad either just no flavor other than the jalapeno. Maybe some garlic would spice it up? but I don't know if ceviche typically has garlic. Anywho I really like the restaurant. They have a huge menu. I think I prefer their breakfast menu.

They have plenty of breakfast and lunch options. I ordered a Wichita club and a 5 pc BBQ chicken wings. The sandwich was good, just not enough mayo, which was ok because they have extra condiments on each table. They give you some sauce on the side that's similar to 1000 island dressing so I used that also and it turned out pretty tasty. It's a pretty big sandwich (3 big slices of sourdough bread) but could have used more lettuce . The meat was good and very thinly sliced. I didn't have room to eat the chicken wings there so I took them home. They look delicious and are covered in plenty of sauce. Good sized wings and they have other flavors also. Service was quick, friendly and easy. The place was also very clean with plenty of seating and tables.

Grinder Man is a Wichita institution. There's only one left, near Pawnee and Broadway (the one on…read moreWest street closed several years ago). Anyway, it's a fairly small restaurant, 8 booths for seating. The sandwiches are incredible. The Grinder is great, comes with chopped dill pickle, my personal favorite is the Hero. Comes with Cappacola Ham (YUM), Genoa Salami, Pepperoni, onion and a splash of oil. One other great feature is you can get an italian sausage sandwich, which is easily the best in town (the only other one i've come across is Mr. Goodcents, and I'm not all that fond of their food). You can get sandwiches cold or hot, on white or wheat. The Mini is around 7-8 inches (under $4 for most) and the Maxi is 12 inches (under $6 for most) Great selection, daily specials, and you can get deviled eggs on the side. The best part is either through the local coupon mailers or the local phone books (I swear, Wichita has like four of them now), you can get a buy one-get one coupon for two mini or maxi sandwiches. Two 12 inch sandwiches for $6! At work, we would pillage every phone book we could find and eat there every week. The only drawback is only having one in town makes it a pain to visit if you don't live in the area, but if you find yourself in the area sometime, it's well worth the stop.

Lunch at the Belmont was a hit. This place never misses, like ever.... Layton was my server, very…read moreprofessional and keeps a great conversation. He also does a damned good job at trying to remember peoples names which is appreciated highly. I hopped in around 2:45pm or just before they switched from their lunch to dinner menu. I ordered their Cod fish sandwich with house chips on the side, and the Cheddar Potato Leek soup. The Cod sandwich I recommend, unfortunately I've never had anything like it before so I cannot provide any detail in which it can be compared to anything else in town. The flavors are subtle and the gochujang aioli with pickled veggies really balance out the sandwich. The Cheddar Potato Leek soup is a hit, every bite as good as the first, and with the fall / cooler weather coming I'll be looking forward to ordering this often. If you're able to make it here around the 2:45 + timeframe it's pretty open for anyone to come in and get served immediately as it is just after the lunch rush. The inside is dimly lit, and You'll hear the staff hustle and bustle and the kitchen with the clinks and clanks of dishes and silverware. Music ranges with just about anything.

Salmon was great and had crispy skin, but the Yukon potato could be a bit crispier and the veloute was a bit thin, but otherwise really nice presentation. The caviar was a nice touch, but it was a bit strange on top of the Lays like chips. The duck is a bit well-done, when compared to traditional French style, but it was still pretty tender. The duck glace was pretty good and flavorful -- leans savory and sweet. The sweet potato puree was a good balance to the duck breast, creamy and a bit of zest. Bok choy was slightly over-charred but otherwise ok. The croquette was cool already when we got it so I didn't enjoy that quite as much. Broccolini wasn't my favorite. It was really woody. Maybe it was just my portion, but I should've gotten a different side. Portions were just right. Overall, not a bad place for a Friday night dinner or a little date night!
