I was told by her she was jealous of my strength and that's why she became critical of me. When confronted a therapist she told me she didn't say that and began to gaslight me. She would reword everything I confronted her about trying to make m seem crazy and confused. No accountability whatsoever who can trust a therapist with no accountability and blames you for their actions and your past. Sad you put your trust in someone for 2 years and they're just like everyone else. Some people don't need to be a therapist because they care more about themselves and their reputation than a clients mental health. The therapist harmed my mental health couldn't get a sincere apology or explanation and was terminated for holding her accountable asking for answers after two years. I got terminated over the phone couldn't even get closure. Very selfish for her to get closure and leave me with questions after two years of therapy. Be careful who you trust.. You would think the clinic would like feedback to work with the therapist so this wouldn't happen to future clients but the supervisor only provided referrals and was weird. I'm writing this review because this was very traumatic for me and it seems like there was another review here with same issue. I don't want anyone to be harmed like I have. She needs to be held accountable. This is no okay. Clients deserve a safe space and are already judged and criticized out in the real world. You shouldn't have to pay a therapist to do the same. Sad you can't even trust a therapist these days. Be very careful and tread carefully here! Good luck!

My situation was a family separation that had a hard impact for our children and both parents. Myself and our sons started reunification therapy with Kim Wells almost going on 1 year from now. From day one of Kim working with our sons and myself, it has been very positive and supportive. During this whole time Kim has shown her expertise as a reunification therapist that has helped my sons and I through many sessions of reunification therapy. Kim has always put our children's best interest first and provided a safe and neutral space where everyone's feeling have been heard and validated. Kim has never taking sides but instead expertly guided us through difficult conversations at times. Kim has taught us skills on communication, active listening, rebuilding trust and more. Kim and her team of therapist and staff have always been professional and caring and I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a reunification therapist, family therapy, individual therapy and more to go to Olney Counseling! But there came a time, that I decided I could no longer internalize all of the tough decisions and conflicting feelings I was faced with at this point in my life. I worked with David Sternberg, the director of DC Talk Therapy. David is a kind, calm, steady voice of reason when your mind moves at a mile a minute. I immediately felt comfortable speaking about all of the areas of my life and David is a great listener and only inserted questions and advice when it was absolutely critical to point something out. Over the course of about 7 sessions, David guided me from feeling weighed down, confused and apathetic to feeling optimistic, positive and driven. David was able to help me sort through my feelings and reactions to the influences in my life and helped to connect the dots and pinpoint the ways of thinking that were perpetuating my state of unhappiness. On an administrative note, his administrator Susan is great. When I had to cancel an appointment with very late notice, they let it slide the one time to remind me of the 24 hour cancellation policy. I find that very professional and customer focused. Parking at their Woodley Park office is easier than you might imagine. I never paid for parking because there is ample street parking during the day as long as your appointment is not during rush hour. There are plenty of meters, which I never had to use, but are there in case you can't get a free spot. I would definitely recommend David to anyone needing a mentor to help pull you through a tough time. They are considered out-of-network for many insurance providers but they were very reasonably priced for the quality of guidance I felt I received.
