First time I'd ever been to this restaurant and I don't know why! They do a lunch special 3 courses for under £5.
Being vegetarian, I chose the veggie option which was pakoras (although I could have had vegetable cutlets) and then Paneer (Indian cubed cheese). Side dishes were a veggie curry and a chick pea dal and a choice of either boiled or pilau rice.
It's got an 'interesting' interior with reddy-brown hessian on the walls and it's modern without trying to come across with a 'clubby' atmosphere as some indian restaurants do.
The lunch menu is a set menu for each day of the week so I think I may be going back there! There's the usual 'vegetable curry dishes' that I see in most indian establishments but I'd point out that where I normally order Mattar Paneer - this restaurant offers Paneer. Just going to have to try this and see what it's like. Some restaurants save money by skimping on the amount of paneer that they give you.
The curry was just right as regards "spiciness" - I love hot curries (within reason) but I appreciate eating one that leaves your lips tingling but not upset your stomach! read more
