NEVER AGAIN I DON'T CARE IF IT IS FREE (wish there was a no star option). The food you would feed a prisoner, only if you didn't like them. 2 = Crap, fast food...... Only for If you are in a hurry, tight on $, and/or in a rush. (Think big chain places with $1 menu, not HORRIABLE, and sometimes a decent food comes out). 3 = Okay, worth going on a regular, but has room to improve (Think frequent work lunch spot, Rarely less than Okay, usually Good to really good food) 4 = Very good, favorite "common" places. Nothing EXCEPTIONAL. (Think casual date, Nicer Chain restaurants usually, occasional surprisingly good Fast food) 5 = Reserved for EXTREMELY high quality and/or Exceptional, and  Places that surprise me. (Think first date to impress, anniversary, special occasion) GREAT flavor, great food, ambiance, service, etc... I started using this because I don't like seeing standard restaurants with 5. I never really marinate steaks, usually a person who dry seasons, but got 2 marinated T-Bones here and they were outstanding! Had a friend here from out of state who actually raises cattle and he said several times how amazing it was. Not my first time here, but finally writing a review. Love this place! read more

We LOVE their food and friendly service! My granddaughter begs for their smoked sausage, Cajun rice and cabbage. I am personally a huge fan of their stuffed butterfly pork chops! Drop by and let The Blue Angel serve you a plate of food you would swear your grandmother prepared! Well there can't be anything bad or wrongly said about this place. If you want some pretty delicious food to go, or sit down. They've got you covered. If you want to go and take the meat that they sell home and do your thing with it, they have some of the best meats I've tried in the area. All in all, great little place and the staff has always been incredibly friendly everytime I've been. I'd highly recommend for a meat purchase or just a quick bite on the run. read more

I've been running around the Little Gravel-Sherwood-North-Rock area for a few years now, and for some good BBQ and other sides The Meat Shoppe has you covered. I usually jump around dependent upon my mood with the food and it has always impressed. The pulled pork, the links, ribs, and the chicken are tasty. They also have their dirty rice and it always impresses. It is one item besides all the meats that is standard when I dine in or take away. The service is always ideal. They'll greet you with a smile while you stand and select the many tasty items for your plate. If you have a hankering to take it all home, WAIT, they have a deli counter in the back. I've never made the plunge, but the creations range from simple cuts to well seasoned and ready to make items. If it's BBQ you seek and you're driving along 107 then have a stop and experience The Meat Shoppe's delicious eats. I try to at least once a month, and they've always had me covered. read more

This is hands-down the best Memphis-style BBQ this side of Memphis. The owner is Cajun, so it's interesting in that the ribs, BBQ, etc. are so spot-on..but they also serve dirty rice, andouille, etc. Love it. Naturally, as the name suggests, they are a butcher shop as well, with reasonable prices and great cuts. Only open until around 5-6pm, so it makes a better lunch place than dinner place. Been driving by this little joint for awhile now. There is a decent amount of seating for a small restaurant. They sell all kinds of meat and vegetables depending on the season, as well as ready to serve food. I got a pulled pork sandwich which was really good. Put coleslaw and sauce all over it, too. I can't believe this place doesn't have any reviews. I took my Little Brother here for us each to try it out. Amazing BBQ! I got the pulled pork sandwich (I always try this at a BBQ joint for the first time. If they can't get this right, I'll be hard pressed to return), and it was perfect: a big heaping mess of pork, coleslaw and extra sauce. The beans were pretty standard, but good, and their dirty rice was fantastic. Little Brother got the ribs and they, too, were exactly the definition of good ribs. But the thing that knocked our socks off was the cajun sausage. They let me have a small piece for free, just to try it, and it was divine. DIVINE I SAY! I usually don't like the sausage at a BBQ joint, but this place isn't just a BBQ joint. It's also, as the name states, a meat shop. Excellent little place and worth the extra drive if you are passing through Little Rock. read more

We drive from Little Rock, about 30min, just to get food here. I'm picky about my bar-b-q and this place has the best! the Meat Shoppe has several different types of meat to choose from, and an array of delicious side items. Their bar-b-q sauce is really tasty. It's not overly spicy or hot. It's a little tangy, and just the right amount of sweet. Very friendly and quick service with just what you want, placed into to-go boxes. Ok! My first visit. As I entered the shop my first impression was not so clean and aging. I have to assume the meat case display pics on the web site were from long ago. 3/4 of the meat case was pork. Chops, roast etc. I travels 50 miles for some steaks. There was 50/50 ground beef/pork. One tray of Strip steaks at $13 a pound. Reasonable, Kroger has Choice for $11.99 pound. I ordered a couple as they were the only PINK beef in the case. There was a tray of Ribeye steaks that had sit so long they were almost black. There was a tray of out dated vacuum sealed steaks that didn't look very good and that was it. So I took my strip steaks, my pound of 50./50 ground beef and some aging Italian sausages and brats and drove 50 miles home disappointed. There's a meat shop in Cabot I'll try next time I'm willing to make the trip. read more
