This place didn't pop up as a lunch spot when I searched from a couple of doors down but luckily I saw a menu posted outside and made the last minute call to walk in for lunch instead of going where I was headed. Such a good decision! The servers were nice, the sandwich was amazing and it was the perfect kind of place to stop in for lunch on your own without feeling awkward. I would go back if I'm in the neighborhood and would definitely recommend to others! read more

If you want a quality sandwich on quality bread ham market is your place. The folks who run the counter are super friendly and the food is outstanding! I just wish they would put one in Hot Springs we need a good sandwich place that uses good Boulevard bread. I try to grab a sandwich every time I go to Little Rock. read more

The BEST sandwiches in town. No contest! My husband and I come here once a month for Friday lunch and it never disappoints. We take turns trying and sharing different sandwiches because they're all consistently good. The sandwiches are packed with unique and fresh flavors that just work together perfectly. Not sure what the meats are? Just ask them and they'll show you from the case. Do you want to enjoy a beer with your sandwich? They always have great options! And their fruit...so fresh! At other joints I order a bag of chips with my sandwich because it's a safe bet and I'm weary of getting a bowl full of melon chunks. But not this place! They use fresh strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, pineapple and melon to make up their side of fruit. Who does that?! I'll tell you who. It's someone that cares about every part of the meal and values the ingredients used. Stop in and eat or take it to go. I will have to say, the food was great! It was one of the best Italian beef subs that I have ever had. The smoked bacon is really good too! The only reason that I give 4/5 stars is because there were these two guys that worked at the front that were nice, but one of them couldn't keep his hands off the one slicing the bacon. 2 males, running his hands up his back in a sexually provocatively way; he went so far as pat the bacon slicer on the butt a couple times. It was disgusting. That about ruined everything they have going that is positive. KEEP IN MIND that its not just because it was two men like this, it would have been disgusting to me if it would have been a guy and girl, as well. No hand washing after he had his hands on the man and the butt tap, but grabbed that $50/lb smoked orange pepperoni with his bare hands as well as the $15/lb bacon. I won't be going back unless that is corrected! I will brag on the food, but I will share my disgust in the unpalatable manners of the staff. If you like The Pantry you'll love this place. High quality sandwiches with a European edge. It's more than you might expect to pay normally for a sandwich, but the breads, meats, cheeses and condiments are far above normal. OK, so I read a couple of posts, people saying it was the best sandwich they ever had. Tried it out today, yes, it was one of the best sandwiches I ever have eaten. I had the A.B.L.T and it was truely awesome. so much thick, tasty bacon you could hardly bite through it. The avacodo helped set it off. Best sandwich I've ever had. Hands down. This place was so good! I got the ABLT and my husband ordered the Cuban and they were both delicious! The guy at the counter (I think he was the GM or owner) was incredibly friendly. It's a fairly small restaurant, but he made everyone feel like family. Also, the restaurant had a great look, very modern, but cozy. There wasn't much of a drink selection, it was more specialty drinks that I'd never heard of, so I just had water, but the food definitely makes up for the odd drinks. The sandwiches were amazing! My friend had the pastrami, while I had the avocado BLT. While I enjoyed the taste of both, the pastrami was the winner! The ABLT was great, but you must like salty bacon and lots of it! To be fair, I don't like a lot of bacon on my BLT, but if you do--this sandwich will not disappoint--it's piled high! read more

I've been to District Fare 3-4 times and had consistent experiences at each visit. Most recently, the wife had the ABLT, the M-I-L had the roasted cauliflower, and I had the Cuban. All were grilled to perfection. The avocado adds a nice touch to a hearty BLT with generous chunks of bacon. Personally, I would not have ordered the roasted cauliflower, but after sneaking a bite while the M-I-L wasn't looking it had such a unique flavor and perfect texture combo, so I'll definitely try the RC for myself next time. I like Cubans and this one did not disappoint - lots of meat, a nice little kick from the mustard, and just enough pickle. It's possible to get your fill from just half of a sandwich, so feel free to split one with a friend. I'm not sure how sustainable a $10 sammy shop is in LR, but I'll say that the quality meets the expectations. I really like this place. It has a great vibe with the Euro hint you would expect, given that it's a branch of The Pantry family tree. But I went on a beautiful spring day when US Pizza and most other spots in Hillcrest were packed and we were the only folks dining-in over the lunch hour. I like my family and all, but some variety would be nice. Hopefully, this place makes it because as a connoisseur of fine sandwiches, I'd list the Prosciutto, Cuban, and Roasted Cauliflower as top 10 non-burgers in town. Go get 'em, DF. read more
