The lighting and PowerPoint were perfectly executed. He had music playing during downtime and we pre-selected a playlist. Gene has a list of preferred caterers, and we worked with Kam's Kookery. They were professional, on time, and provided extremely high-quality food. Gene's staff was around during the event and helped answer any questions I had. My best friend rented this venue for her wedding ceremony in June and although the event space was beautiful, the owner (Rachel) and some of the staff did not meet expectations. I understand that the venue is a historical monument to the city (old post office from 1915), but certain rules made it impossible to efficiently utilize the space. One example is that no large, heavy, or bulky items can enter through the front doors. The front doors are original to the building, and I understand not wanting heavy or bulky items going through them, but we weren't even allowed to bring delicate floral runners through the front doors because Rachel thought they would mess her doors up (see photos for the florals runners). We were instructed to use the rear doors which was not in our favor having to transport items at a further distance in the sweltering summer heat. Rachel also got onto us a few times for leaving her historic doors "open" while going in and out of them for fear of losing AC (more to come on that) even though we were being adamant about closing them. I inspected the doors and realized they were misaligned at the strike plates and hinges (probably because they're 107 year old doors that weren't properly maintained/sustained by the owner) which was causing the doors to constantly be open unless locked from the inside. The inside of the venue was absolutely gorgeous, but again, the rules were such a dampener for arguably one of the most important days of my best friend's life. Brides & Grooms beware, both dressing rooms are upstairs next to each other without any sort of partition so there's very little privacy if you're worried about seeing each other before the ceremony. The owner also does not allow any alcohol upstairs in the dressing rooms unless specifically bought from her, which I felt was one way to nickel-and-dime her bride and groom on their wedding day. There is antique furniture in one of the bedrooms such as a bed, sofa, and dresser, that the owner will not allow you to touch, look at, or even breathe near unless you want to be fined. The AC, or lack thereof, made it extremely uncomfortable getting ready in the upstairs dressing rooms. Rachel told us numerous times to close the blinds upstairs, which we did, but it still didn't help make the rooms any cooler and made it difficult having photos taken without natural lighting. Rachel's staff (specifically bartenders) were late, underdressed, and didn't provide the services that were agreed upon in the contract. The wedding guests were supposed to be served champagne while they were being seated for the ceremony and then served cocktails immediately after the ceremony for cocktail hour. Neither of these agreements were met. Rachel also requires the customer renting out the venue to clean up all trash prior to exiting the space. You read that right - that means all trash from your guests, restrooms, anywhere on the premise, etc must be thrown out by you. This was not previously communicated so I, along with the other bridesmaids, groomsmen, bride, groom, and even their parents were dragging stinky, leaky, trash bags out to dumpsters that were a block away from the venue in our formal attire. My best friend (the Bride) did all of the coordination with Rachel in booking the venue, and from what I heard and saw, it was extremely difficult working with her. There was lack of communication from the very beginning and there were so many other things that weren't specified and that went wrong that she didn't acknowledge. Would not recommend using this space for events larger than 40 people as the staff and management don't seem to be equipped to handle anything larger.

Festivities is a very unique venue where brides can get a lot for quite the reasonable price. I was…read morein a wedding party that made use of all of the venue's features including the outdoor trellis for the ceremony, the get ready rooms upstairs, and the back kitchen. Festivities has been updated from an old post office and has that vintage vibe currently so popular among brides. While it is located in El Reno, the drive is not that far for brides from the city. We had the venue from 10am to midnight. My only complaint is that the get ready room for the bridal party is not very private. There is no bathroom attached to the bridal suite, so you have to go out into the main area to use the bathroom. The women's bathroom only has one functional stall. The other is a urinal. The venue didn't provide any hand towels or paper towels to dry hands in the bathroom. Only one toilet and sink wasn't a problem for us, but larger bridal parties should be aware. The groom's suite is also upstairs and not partitioned from the bridal area, so brides concerned with being seen before the ceremony may want to find another venue, like a nearby hotel for their grooms to get ready. The staff is very friendly, but they are very strict about their rules. For example, you can't use the antique furniture in the rooms or you risk being charged. They also made the party remove the beads that we had placed on the tables for decoration. They are very strict about their liquor license; you can't bring outside liquor upstairs to the get ready room. Even though there are a lot of rules, the staff is still very kind when they enforce them. Overall, this venue is very cool and has a lot of features all in one place. The reasonable cost compensates for the strict rules and the bathroom issue.

Uses: A venue available for booking and reserving for parties, weddings, concerts, conferences, etc. The MidFirst Performance Hall is the space for all these events. The MidFirst Bank Water Stage is also available for booking. Facilities: This is a n 18,000 square foot area with reception, offices, conference areas, green room, concessions, boat bay, and team fitness area. The MF Performance Hall was designed to be tuned for different acoustics based on the event or concert being held. The entrance to the Boathouse District has a sculpture called the Compass Rose, designed by artist Own Morrell. I was able to see this place as I got tickets for the silent auction "Black Light/Neon Night" to benefit the Perpetual Motion Dance company for Fri, 8 Nov 2019. When I got engaged I knew that I did not want to put in the work that it takes to plan a wedding…read more I wanted a nice wedding but I didn't want to have to worry about scheduling caterers and bakers and DJs, etc. - I decided that the best thing for me to do was to book at an all-in-one venue. I toured several but decided that Creekside had the best value. If I could go back in time, I would have paid more money and booked with a different venue. The customer service at Creekside is TERRIBLE! I booked my wedding well in advance, paid my downpayment, and then went about my business. I never heard from them. About 90 days before my wedding I called them. The coordinator booked a time for us to come in and at our appointment told me that it was my responsibility to contact all of the vendors. My responsibility? What am I paying you for if I have to make all of the arrangements? The coordinator said that it was my fault for not contacting them sooner and that I would need to get in touch with the vendors as soon as possible. So, I call the florist. My package included a few centerpieces so I just expected to tell him my colors and list some flowers that I like. He insisted that I come in for a consultation. I had to take time out of my work day to meet with him because he wanted to try to up-sell me bouquets & corsages - for a very hefty price. I declined and he was booked to only do centerpieces. The centerpieces were awful! I had seen this florist's ads in several magazines and he can do beautiful work. My centerpieces looked thrown together and unprofessional. Our package also included 5 dance lessons. We went to our first lesson only to have the woman try to up-sell us additional lessons. She was also very rude when we couldn't get stuff right. We decided not to go to anymore lessons. The food was probably the only redeeming thing. The caterer had lots of options to choose from and they were all delicious. Problem was - she ran out of food at the reception. I booked a weeding for a certain number of guests, I had that many people in attendance, and yet she ran out of food. The caterer also bakes the cakes. She told me to submit pictures of what I wanted and that she could decorate it however I wanted. I gave her pictures and she assured me that she could make it look just like my picture. While the cakes tasted delicious, my bridal cake looked like a four-year-old had done the decorating. It looked nothing like my picture - not even close. I didn't think that I had picked anything difficult and would have gladly chosen something else if she didn't think she could handle it. All I wanted was a white cake with a simple design piped onto each layer and she couldn't handle that. Our DJ asked me to e-mail him to give him an idea of what we wanted for music. I told him what our special dances would be and he asked me to make him a CD with those song on them. I did that and told him a few specifics - no Top 40, no country music, these are the bands & singers that we like. I heard more Top 40 and country at my reception than I did bands that I like. And, since the DJ was positioned upstairs and was inaccessible, I couldn't just walk up to him and tell him. It was disappointing. The venue is nice but I almost didn't choose it because it has a giant cross on the side of the building and in the chapel. Neither my husband nor I are Christians so this was something that we just decided to overlook because the price was so good. If I had wanted a giant cross hanging over my head, I would have gotten married in a church. They really should consider removing the religious elements as there are many people who may not be willing to overlook them like we were. Finally, I want to say a few words about their coordinator. If you want to do something in your wedding that isn't usually done then he will try to shut it down. Don't even think about trying to make your wedding unique. I wanted to do something other than a unity candle but at my rehearsal he tried to tell me that a unity candle would be better than what I had planned. I wanted to do something different to introduce my wedding party at the reception and he said, "We just don't do that here." I ended up getting to do the things that I wanted to do but I was fought every step of the way. I've had a few months to settle down before writing this review and I'm still very upset about what happened behind the scenes. All of my guests had a great time and said that it was a lovely wedding. At the end of the day I was married so that was all that mattered. However, if I could go back in time and do it over again, I would have either booked at a different venue or I would have not been so laid back and trusting. Maybe if I had been more of a bridezilla things would have gone my way.
