That said, the nuptials we attended here were well attended and comparably enjoyable, and the venue was clean and well lighted. Ample parking, too. Everything went well from start to finish, and the reception was, clearly, well organized and nicely staffed by a good crew that knew what it was doing. (Judy was particularly helpful.) First prom for me and the Manor!…read more I am a teacher and class sponsor at a local 6A high school. This year was my class' year to plan prom. Having never done this before, I was very nervous. My class officers started looking for venues a year prior and fell in love with The Manor at Coffee Creek. Being a public school with not a lot of money, I was worried about the cost of the venue. Tammie was able to work with us on deposits so that we could get everything paid off after we had done some fundraising and started selling prom bids. In the beginning there was a little confusion on both sides as to what needed to happen for them to get paid (lots of forms and things like that), but we ended up working it out really well. It was a learning experience for both of us! The actual prom went REALLY well! Tammie and Jody (sp?) did a really amazing job with taking our theme (masquerade) to a very classy level. We wanted to make sure it wasn't Mardi Gras masquerade so our colors were black, gold, and silver. This venue is gorgeous on its own and I was so pleased with how everything looked. The students really liked having multiple areas to sit and chat if they didn't want to dance. Most prom venues just have one big room so sitting and talking is not usually an option. Obviously, we had a very strong security and teacher presence because there are A LOT of nooks and crannies that the kids can sneak off to. However, we didn't seem to have a problem with that! We had snacks and fruit-infused water. It was easy to refill the snacks because it was next to the bar where we stored the extras. The water, on the other hand, put us to work. We bought 18 gallons of water and that was not near enough so we had to keep filling up the jugs and transporting them from the sink to the water jars. In the future, I will definitely think about hiring a few servers to be on top of the water/drinks, taking out the trash, and refilling the snacks, etc. We got really lucky with the weather! I was very worried about rain/storms since it is April in Oklahoma. Parking would have been difficult if it rained because the parking lot is a field. It worked perfectly with great weather though. Also, if it would have rained, we would have had to figure out a way to cover the walkway from the Manor to the dancing area so the students didn't get wet going from snacks to dancing. All in all this was a great first prom experience for both of us, I hope!

Long story short: the owner was extremely rude throughout the process. She even told one of our guests that if the venue wasn't spotless, we would lose our deposit. We did clean thoroughly and left the place spotless, yet we still had to argue with her--only to get part of our deposit back. Her excuse? Our DJ arrived a little early to set up. Save yourself the headache and book a different venue. Honestly, we would have had a smoother wedding at McDonald's."

We're excited to post our wedding pictures after our December 2020 wedding. We know it's going to be absolutely amazing and beautiful. The entire property is massive and includes an old cemetery where some prisoners of war are buried from WW2. Some of the buildings are well maintained and some are in need of repair. The volunteer at the visitor center explained the various stages of renovation that the buildings and grounds were in at the time. It's free admission but donations are accepted. It's something to see if you are in El Reno, OK, alongside part of historic Route 66!

I learned more in the trip to this site than I did in a semester of Oklahoma History! There were neat buildings, a beautiful church, and an amazing cemetery for WWII prisoners of war. I had no idea this type of history was available first hand in Oklahoma! They also have pretty neat ghost tours to keep watching for! Historic Fort Reno, Inc., is a non profit organization dedicated to preservation and use of the historical and cultural resources of Fort Reno. Its mission is to secure funding for restoration of historic structures, Visitor Center operations and activies, educate the public through historical interpretation, and establish those partnerships necessary for the long-term stability of the organization.

But, we bought $ 800.00 in food and we got to bring…read morenone of it home! the coridinator was fantastic. we had to buy a case of champagne not a half as we had asked. we payed 355 for the case the security gaurd and bartender...we brought none of what was left- 6 bottles. no one was able to carry any food out with them. my cake was not what i thought it would be and was nothing like the one i had picked out. so I hope that you will consider this as you pay over 3500 on your wedding, and reception. we did get to bring what was left of the cake home... i would very much reconsider this venue
