5 STAR REVIEW La Maripossa Montessori school is a total gem…read moreand I am incredibly grateful my 2 children attend the school.  The staff is wonderful and each member of the team is so engaged and genuinely cares for the kids creating a fun learning environment where they can accelerate at the pace that suits each child.  The environment is exceptional with a very creative playground, kids can climb, use swings, take care of live animals including goats, chickens, and horses, it's totally amazing!  The guest teachers that come through are often masters in their fields and enrich the experience with special teachers for subjects such as piano, art, Spanish, and science among many others.   I love that the class rooms include a range of ages to give children the experience of being mentored by older students and eventually becoming a mentor themselves as they progress within the class.  The internationally focused curriculum gives students a sense of their place in the world where different cultures are celebrated.  The decorations and extensive planning that the staff put into holidays is incredible, and it seems like every month there is a wonderful celebration.  The older children are very engaged in the community and go on frequent field trips to places such as animal shelters, an elderly home, and out to train service dogs.  How much fun to go and play with puppies as part of your school work, no wonder the kids are happy when you pick them up!   When the older kids test perfectly in geography, those students are invited out to lunch to a restaurant of that continent as a special treat, what a great incentive.  My sixth grade son even had the opportunity to deliver the American Creed at the roundhouse, which was a huge confidence booster and an excellent experience.  The staff also encouraged us to test him within the John Hopkins University for Talented Youth program and he passed the test with high honors which is now a great accolade going forward. I am in awe that I can honestly say my kids have been happy every time I have picked them up from school.  The level of commitment and attention to detail that is required to achieve that level of happiness within a school environment speaks volumes in itself.  I recommend this school to anyone seeking a truly nurturing, stimulating, positive, creative, dynamic, and healthy environment for their children to give them the very best start in life!

The 4-6th grade teacher had started off the school year to a bad start. His attitude was impossible to ignore. The class had 10 people. Then somebody left. The head teacher's attitude was more rude than 10 middle fingers floating around your head, telling you terrible things. He also had a problem with his temper and patience. For example, somebody drew a little happy face on their work. It was a geography packet, and the entire class got one. It was not limited edition. Now, I need somebody to explain what is wrong with a happy face. Drawing it took 1.5 seconds max, and it's not distracting the entire class. In fact, having any more form of positivity in that classroom would be perfect. The teacher saw it, and got mad. He told the student that drew it that they were "lazy". Now, correct me if i'm wrong, but that's fucked up! The next important thing that happened that year, was that 2 more people left the school. Coincidentally, they were both people in his cl(ass)! A while later into the year, somebody was needing help with homework. They were having so much trouble, that they started to cry. That's when the teacher spoke. He told them they they were "helpless". You heard that, helpless. He didn't even try to comfort them. Please save yourself and your kids from this dickhead, and goodbye. Edit: We also did yoga every morning, and one of the poses was upside down. That fuckass teacher said, and i quote, "[kids name]! I can see your bum.". What. The. Fuck. -Anonymous

As someone who drove beforehand and needed to fix a few issues here and there for not driving for some time, I decided to pay the adult education course offered at ABC Drivers Ed. Despite my early attempts to understand the direction of the teaching approach of my instructor Donny and the overall course, I was unable to achieve my goal at this time. I received shallow and obscure response and direction. Whenever I insisted to know what's going on, Donny never gave me a clear answer. It was pretty frustrating but I decided to be flexible. My bad. I wanted to complete a class for an hour a week, but Donny often offered to complete the class in two (2) hours. I don't think that's healthy and fair for a student. Personally, I felt pressured by Donny to complete as many hours as possible in a short period of time. I quite never understood the rush. He also often asked me to complete many hours in a week, even though I kept saying I'm unavailable. If I have to do it again, I will make my booking directly from the website, be more private about my personal driving practice and do not ask to drive more than an hour in one session. It didn't even make sense to me when he asked me to drive additional hours since I drove him for hours around town at least once and we went on the highway more than once. He was telling me how I was doing a good job and all. Very deceiving. In fact, Donny almost puts our lives in danger at one time as I blindly followed his driving instructions on a highway. My learning experience with Donny was unsatisfactory and poor because I left somewhat unsure about my driving skills even after the hours paid for my adult driving education course from ABC Drivers Ed. Donny said I have to learn one or two things but he actually fails to give the tools to achieve that while I was taking the course with him. He come across as courteous and friendly but as a teacher at a core, I won't recommend him unless you're ready to give him more money by paying additional driving classes. Reflecting back, I think since the beginning, his business objective was to get me to pay additional hours and earn more money that way because the charge is much higher. To be honest with you, I felt ripped off for my time and money by Donny and ABC Drivers Ed.

Truly, this is one of the worst run government colleges I've ever been to. I've been coming here,…read moreoff and on for several years and recently, it's really gone down. Apparently, there's a new dean and whatever he's been doing has only degraded the campus and its services. The internet literally is as slow as dial up. You can't get onto any websites or do searches. It's stunning to think that a college can't have adequate Wi-Fi service. Besides, that, the ceramics department, which used to be fabulous, is now barely, "so, so". It's amazing that New Mexico is known for ceramics and clay and this college seems to be doing everything they can to cut the ceramics course out. The attendance is 1/2 of what it was just last year. For myself, I won't be coming back again to attend classes. It used to be a place I loved to come to when I had an extended stay in Santa Fe.

So, out of the blue, the school cancelled Fall 2022 Commencement Ceremony 19 days before it was to…read morehappen. Supposedly due to COVID/flu risk (which has been steady for many many months). However, I was told by a source within the school staff that the real reason is that they weren't happy with the number of students who RSVP'd to participate. So the cancellation is actually just an attempt to save money and labor. If true, this is 100% unfair to all those young men and women who worked for years to EARN the right to a commencement ceremony. And to their families who have ALREADY booked flights and hotels to come celebrate their special day with their sons and daughters. Shame on SFCC for making this decision, and for hiding their true motivation: New York Times front page headline 24 hrs after SFCC cancelled commencement due to COVID risk: "A Year After the Omicron Surge, Officials See a Reduced Covid Threat This Winter"
