This cafe is cheap and cheerful; a greasy spoon for shoppers and those who just want some company or a natter.
It is a lot better since the smoking ban, I have to say. They have tables outside for those who want to smoke.
They do very nice coffee though and the food is always hot and tasty. There is a good selection of made up rolls too - I recommend the corned beef and egg salad roll.
You get a ticket when you order and go to collect your food when your number appears on a display hung above the counter.
The take away area does a good range of food as well and I like the way they have clearly displayed all the options and prices.
It is very difficult to take a pushchair in there, particularly when it is busy as the aisles are not very wide and the tables are pretty crammed in.
The toilets are ok; in keeping with the rest of the cafe really. The first cubicle is very small though and I have to straddle the toilet before I can close the door. I'm sure a wheelchair would not fit in the ladies at all.
I don't recall there being a baby changing area but if there is, it can't be very big.
Overall, it's not the Ritz but the food is freshly cooked to order and reasonably priced. read more
