Located in the centre of Hereford, virtually next door to the famous Cathedral, this historic 17th century building looks quite small & doesn't look much from the outside, but when you enter, you are met with an olde-worlde ambiance full of character and charm, with oak beams and old wooden floors. It stretches back a long way, and further continues up the old wooden staircase. There is also a huge beer garden which is great for the summer. It has a unique & largly varied menu with many of the dishes served here that I have'nt seen anywhere else. What's more, all are home-cooked - none of this brought-in rubbish from catering companies for them! My family & I often eat there whether it be for a lunch-time snack, evening meal or your traditional Sunday Dinner, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal - the cooking here is spectacular! The restaurant is always busy, so I highly recommend that you book in advance for Sunday lunch & weekends. And last but not least - There doesn't seem to be any mobile phone reception here, which in my opinion at least, can't be a bad thing - at least you can enjoy your meal in peace!

"They're going to make a fuss over an almost empty coffee drink and almost lose a customer... or 2... or 3?" "Well," I said, "I just got off work to meet my friends here... they're almost done. I'm not going to throw this drink away." She said, "Sorry its just my manager." "Well tell him he can come over here and explain it to me." I replied. I wasn't bothered again but seriously... what kind of way is that to treat to a past customer and future customer even if I wasn't a present customer?
