It was a lucky dip that ended in a wonderful meal and a very nice experience thanks to the pub owners. We rocked up around 4pm and were told by a staff member in the parking lot, who kindly offered to take our photo, that they were probably out of roast being it was so late in the day but he would speak to the chef. 20 mins later we had a couple of beverages at a nice table in the lounge overlooking the water and a delicious beef roast dinner with root vegetables, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. We cleaned our plates and followed lunch up with a sweet and tasty slice of homemade carrot cake. It was absolutely fantastic. The staff were ever so friendly and really looked after us. What a great little find and we are so pleased to have stumbled upon it! Now, hours and a couple sofa snoozes later, we are still stuffed!

This is our favourite cafe in Ledbury and we go in there nearly every Saturday for coffee during the kids' ballet and quite often for lunch. Food is good and reasonably priced, especially kids meals. A kids sandwich is around £2 and they have a good selection of paninis and sandwiches and specials. Their omelettes are delicious. The two reasons that the cafe didn't get 5 stars are that, when it's busy, the food is a long time coming. It's worth it in the end and generally the staff will let you know how long it's likely to be (and they're normally pessimistic about it; it normally arrives before they said it would). The other minor gripe is the men's toilet; I can't get in and shut the door without rubbing against the pan. As I said above, I believe the cafe changed hands on 12th April. I hope that they will continue to offer as good value for money and quality as Richard (the previous proprietor) did. I've seen many cafes go to the dogs after a change of hands like this :-(

I love the way the cosy club enhances the history of the building whilst bringing it up to date. The service was top notch, the waitstaff were attentive yet not overbearing. There was an excellent variety on the menus and I thought the prices were very worth it as the food and drink was delicious. The music and ambience was lovely. I think the lighting overall was a bit dim for lunchtime but I think it would be perfect for dinner or later in the afternoon. Definitely recommend!

Part of the original old cafe still has the old American style diner tables and benches. It has been extended either side of these to offer more seating areas. This is an ideal place to pop into any time of the day from breakfast to lunch to afternoon tea. Good old fashioned basic food served freshly cooked at a reasonable cost in a very friendly atmosphere. Give it a try if you haven't already. Not posh but clean and friendly.
